Startups Would you pick a lawyer that doesn't have much experience in the space you're trying to work in, but you have a somewhat friendly relationship with, or would you find a lawyer that specializes in your space, but you don't know?

I've got a startup that has yet to startup so to speak but will be getting things going for 2022. I want a lawyer just to talk to and make sure I'm not screwing up basic stuff like the LLC, which I'm not sure I even need a lawyer for. My startup is technical in nature and ultimately I know I'm going to need industry specific legal help eventually. I'm tempted to go to the lawyer who markets himself as the guy for my industry. I just feel weird about it because I know I know nothing about law and I feel that's where I can get taken advantage of so I'm a little worried. I almost wonder if I need a lawyer for my lawyer just to double check to make sure I'm not being misled.

Should you show weaknesses to investors or accelerators?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 08:34 AM PST

for e.g. should you tell them you have ADHD or other circumstances? should you be honest or should you seem perfect?

do investors or accelerators care about mental disorders?

it seems like many successful entrepreneurs have some sort of disorders, so, I was wondering does it matter to investors?

I changed my mindset. My new startups will be about positivity :)

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 11:47 AM PST

    Hey peeps :)

I wanted to share my perspective on startups and how I changed my mindset. I've been building products for years, most of them failed. Like everyone it was a rollercoaster every time.

Few weeks ago I decided to change my mindset and start looking at things more positively. Generally I'm a talkative, happy and optimistic person but when I was working on startups it was all just about money and success.

My decision is to focus my new startups on people, feelings and positivity. I will put money, success and earnings on the side. I want to spread positivity and optimism around me so people can feel the same as I feel, so people can feel happy and joyful. We live in a hateful world, media pushes negativity, people are more sad than happy... I will give my best to change that :)

    Cheers all ;)

Is it wrong to innovate on a startup’s unique product?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 10:55 AM PST

I came across this young company that has created a very unique product that is phenomenal in concept but only decent in execution. I believe I could make massive improvements to the design without infringing on their patent.

It's business; normally this type of thing is completely acceptable. But the company is so young, and the product is so refreshingly unique and clever, that ethically speaking, I'm wondering if it'd be dirty to compete. What are your opinions?

    Advice for Discord?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 12:18 PM PST

    Hey fam!

We're in early stages of launching a discord community for users of our product (as well as potential new users) centered around our space.

Would love to hear your best advice on discord structure (great channels to have, maybe fun bots you use, other automations) that you have found useful/fun in other discord channels you are a part of
