Have a general question? Want to offer some commentary on markets? Maybe you would just like to throw out a neat fact that doesn't warrant a self post? Feel free to post here!

If your question is "I have $10,000, what do I do?" or other "advice for my personal situation" questions, you should include relevant information, such as the following:

    • How old are you? What country do you live in?
    • Are you employed/making income? How much?
    • What are your objectives with this money? (Buy a house? Retirement savings?)
    • What is your time horizon? Do you need this money next month? Next 20yrs?
    • What is your risk tolerance? (Do you mind risking it at blackjack or do you need to know its 100% safe?)
    • What are you current holdings? (Do you already have exposure to specific funds and sectors? Any other assets?)
    • Any big debts (include interest rate) or expenses?
    • And any other relevant financial information will be useful to give you a proper answer.

Please consider consulting our FAQ first - https://www.reddit.com/r/investing/wiki/faq And our side bar also has useful resources.

Be aware that these answers are just opinions of Redditors and should be used as a starting point for your research. You should strongly consider seeing a registered financial rep before making any financial decisions!

Is this a good investment strategy?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2021 11:54 PM PST

Im 19 and i have 2 years to make a shit ton of money before my mom sells the house and moves to Florida and I'll be on my own

So I right now I can live very frugally paying nothing whilst working a shit ton and making serious $$ I start plumbing school in February

I was thinking of just investing almost all my money every time I get paid in popular stocks that will likely not go away for a while like Apple , Microsoft, Tesla , Amazon etc , since I have no expenses and don't really "need to spend"

Even if the market crashes these company's will go back up again eventually right?

I invested in Apple and completely forgot I made like 300$ off of Apple off of buying a couple shares I didn't even know until yesterday when I opened the robinhood app I haven't checked in months now imagine if I invested like 5k

I will never options trade or anything because that's just gambling r/wallstreetbets scared me away from that haha

I understand there's stuff like index funds and etf's but let's be honest here I'm 19 I don't want or need to start saving for retirement

Question about long term investing (blue chip/commodities)

    Posted: 26 Dec 2021 08:31 AM PST

Hypothetically let's say a toothpaste company makes a profit of 8% annually - rarely more, rarely less because the demand and cost of operation practically stays the same. There's no exponential growth and they haven't lost money.

As long as people will always buy toothpaste, then the stock will inherently go up even if the company isn't increasing in size? How? Why? The value of the stock should logically remain the same and offer a 8% dividend every year instead of it's overall value increasing right? Please explain.

A compilation of the outlook for Oil in the Energy Sector using multiple sources, data & statistics. I am bullish on $WCE and $EW which I put in the comments.

Below I have made a compilation of the Outlook for Oil in the Energy Sector. Whoever believes in investing in the Energy Sector and specifically small plays in the oil sector like $WCE and #EW must do fundamental analysis on the company and macro analysis of the industry. Sadly the links in the article don't get me to post the full article here but this way works as well.

My reasoning for these stocks are in the comments summarized with main points.

Just a few questions on the future of finance from a 17 year old......

    Posted: 26 Dec 2021 03:41 AM PST

There are a few questions aroused by ordinary minds like us, due to the introduction of the digital finance and its subsidiary concepts.

    1. How will these new things like (NFTs, Cryptocurrencies) will prove a better alternative to liquid money, and on what basis are we gonna value them?
    2. On what basis and how will they create an environment that is sustainable for growth aswell as has no loopholes with the transparency that the ordinary public expects from it?
    3. What steps are governments gonna take in order to implement these new concepts so as to make sure that everyone is benefitted from them (It will differ a bit from country to country, but there should be a proper base to it)
    4. We cannot just go on creating n number of cryptocurrencies!, what can be done to solve this problem (lol you cannot be just bullish on coins with a face of dog)
