Financial Independence Retiring in late 20s |
Posted: 29 Nov 2021 06:59 PM PST I am currently almost 21 years old and I plan to hopefully be retired in my late 20s. I live at home and have no large expenses/debts, I live very frugally and useally spend around 100-200 per month. I plan on living at home for at least another 4 more years. I currently have around 140k in investments/cash (crypto/individual stocks) no 401k or Roth IRA. I'm making only 48k currently but I'm in the process of trying to get a job paying around 60k per year. I can't see my salary being much more than 70k per year due to my career/location/learning disabilities. Right now I'm putting most of my paycheck into crypto/individual tech stocks every 2 weeks. Should I even bother opening a Roth IRA/401k if I plan on retiring at such a young age? What type of strategy should I take? I feel like I can afford to be as risky as possible because I'm living at home expense free and with no debt. [link] [comments] |
