An awesome tracker for your stocks!!!

    Posted: 04 Sep 2021 11:36 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I have build a spreadsheet and it is pretty awesome if I may say so myself. The spreadsheet is built in such a way so that anyone can use it. All you have to do is follow five easy steps to set up the tracker! Just fill out your transaction history - the rest is magick!

    https://ibb.co/rG2fsjs

    Characteristics of the spreadsheet:

    • Has an awesome dashboard with useful metrics such as price action on any stock you own.
    • Provides an 'overview' of your realized gains. Especially useful for those from the US (tax reports). Uses accounting method FIFO. It will also take into account your previous losses and provide you with visual data on your previous lossess or profits. This way you can learn by judging your past decisions.
    • Provides an overview of your unrealized gains. Also gives data on sector/industry automatically. These data will also be presented in graphs, ofcourse.
    • Has an awesome newsfeed tool. Basically, for the stocks that you own, it will provide the latest 20 headlines with URL link. Source: yahoo finance/seeking alpha.
    • Has an awesome screener tool from finviz. All you have to do is enter a ticker and you will receive useful metrics on the stock of your choice.

Right now it is currently in testing mode. I am not sure if the script which calculates realized gains is 100% correct/bullet proof. So if you are willing to test the spreadsheet for me, then please let me know if anything seems off or not. Most people usually know what their profits/losses are approximatly.

    Thanks in advance!

    10 Steps to Getting Started

    Posted: 04 Sep 2021 07:12 PM PDT

I got some buying power, any recommendations?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2021 08:02 AM PDT

    Hello,

I'll be honest, I'm not a success story like most of you on here so that's why I'm asking for help. I've had some trouble recently and I've been kicking myself in the head, okay I'm not that flexible but you know what I mean. Anyway, as you can see by my picture, I've definitely fell behind on holding for various stocks such as workhouse, pintrest, zynga, etc. My question is, do I hold these stocks still or sell them and try to make a profit somewhere else?

Furthermore, whenever I make a sell the next day the price always sky rockets, it's as if they waited for me to sell and be like HAHAHA look at the price now :) example: amc, sold at 39 the other day because it kept flucating every week on up to 40 down to 30's, but now it's mid 40's. And to top it off, I had alerbtsons at 19.30 and draft kings at 43 but sold both when they hit about 5 bucks higher than that to make a flip and they're on a roller coaster into the sky at this point; frustrated about that!!

Basically, looking for some advice and some suggestions so I can become a better investor.

    Buying power: 438.39

Trying to post a picture, but I don't see where the button is.

A view that I made in April 2021. See youtube video to see what has been right so far

    Posted: 04 Sep 2021 08:35 AM PDT

Been monitoring financial markets for over 18 years, I had made a market call in April 2021 and totally forgotten about this video that I posted in youtube. It would be good to take a look back then on my market directional view as well as an individual stock that I have been acquiring during market weakness. Click the youtube link below if you are interested to see what has panned out so far:-

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH7IG5UR0NQ

I have been writing articles and posting on Tiger Brokers community platform since April 2021 and have totally forgotten about this video that I made. Now that I remembered about this video that I posted on youtube, I have decided to constantly update the content to reflect my latest view and stock view to document my advice to myself. As always, there is no 100% certainty in any views since market, financial and business conditions do change.

As always, the above should not be construed as any investment or trading advice.

Options Trading - anyone use a paid service for setups? or educational programs to master?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2021 07:31 AM PDT

I'm getting inundated with ads for different options programs and services since I've start dabbling trading in them (damn spy technology watching/listening to us). I know youtube can be a great educational resource so question paying for the learning type programs, but there's also the services that recommend trades. So a few questions -

    1. Has anyone tried any program (educational type) they thought was worth it or, on the other hand, thought it wasn't and one should avoid?
    2. Does anyone use a service for setups they found valuable (or again, not worth it and avoid)?

Been getting ads on IG too. Started following Hyperstocks and was considering doing their paid service ($169.95)

I subscribe to some Motleyfool services and I believe their options service was $999! Believe Seekingalpha has one that's rather expensive as well. Anyone try?

    Opinions on this investment strategy

    Posted: 04 Sep 2021 03:38 AM PDT

Splitting my investment amount as below: (Indian Stock Market)

    1) 30% -> 20% in Active Largecap MFs + 80% in Largecap ETFs 2) 30% -> 20% in Active Midcap MFs + 80% in Midcap ETFs 3) 40% -> stocks with less stock prices (Rs 50 - Rs 200) with good fundamentals and tracking on my own.

    • Investing only in small stocks because it narrows down the no.of stocks to analyze and track thoroughly. Also, I can buy adequate qtys whenever there's a dip (can't do that with costly stocks). Who knows they might turn into muti-baggers ? So riding the luck.

Also, I'm confused if I should do it the other way around. Meaning, MFs and ETFs for small and Midcaps and invest on my own for Largecaps ?

Please let me know what you guys think of this approach.
