Posted: 31 Jul 2021 02:25 PM PDT Is it me, or does it feel like so many companies used the pandemic as an excuse to simply lay off employees and switch to email based communication? Does this bother any of you from a customer service perspective? [link] [comments] |
Where do I start when it comes to creating a canned drink brand? Posted: 01 Aug 2021 02:26 AM PDT I have a concept for a drink company that I really have a lot of faith in, but no idea where to start. Who do I talk to? What do I prepare for? Any advice welcome! [link] [comments] |

The Case of Missing Sugar (office thief) Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:35 PM PDT I run a sales office of 23 people. We provide free coffee along with milk and sugar. Over the last several years, our sugar consumption was getting really high. I thought that people just liked their coffee sweet. Years passed and still the sugar consumption was high. We were buying a 10lb bag a week just to meet the demand. It wasn't until just last week when we had our office camera upgraded that video. Camera company showed me something odd. One of the female sales reps, would bring her empty water bottle to the coffee station every Thursday and fill the empty bottle to the top with the sugar. This has been going on since 2004. Should we press charges or just fire the employee for theft? [link] [comments] |

Help me understand what this is called and can it be done? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:12 PM PDT So stuff where movies are promoted in ways such as the way space jam was promoted with the whole Mcdonald thing. What is the terminology for that. And can a small restaurant do such a thing where they can make products that help promote the movie in the way McDonald's does it. If yes what are the things required? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 12:55 PM PDT I used to work with this guy who made it a habit of having a "Celebretory" cigarette break after after Sale he made. He was selling imprinted shirts and a sale was made every 20 min or so. This goomba was making orders but on the flip side, was out in the smoke area for most of the day. Would you have allowed this? Note: the guy ended up getting fired for no sales 2 months later. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:51 PM PDT We run a magazine that typically generates revenue by selling advertising. Any normal time, it does well and makes a profit. But COVID has meant businesses are at least more hesitant to purchase advertising. I have issues here - such as, marketing being essential to getting momentum back but that's not what this thread is about… We have a defined set of space we aim to fill with advertisements. I wondered if, in a certain issue, we weren't able to sell a portion of the ad space, could we use it to generate leads, and sell them? If so, is there a name for this model? The closest I could think of was referral schemes. There's a local "milk man" who would give you £10 for every customer you refer etc. But the terms restrict what you can do, and the spirit of them isn't such that a business will market the crap out of them to generate revenue. I'd also have to publish it as a referral from the magazine, which isn't the vibe I want to go for. I'd rather, in that scenario, be given permission to use their branding or at least present myself as a fully branded company that would transparently be "referring" the interested part to the supplier. If it helps with figures we distribute to about 70,000 people, for free. Any thoughts welcome! [link] [comments] |
Tenants prepare for unknown as eviction moratorium ends Posted: 31 Jul 2021 07:56 AM PDT Tenants saddled with months of back rent are facing the end of the federal eviction moratorium Saturday, a move that could lead to millions being forced from their homes just as the highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus is rapidly spreading. The Biden administration announced Thursday it would allow the nationwide ban to expire, saying it wanted to extend it due to rising infections but its hands were tied after the U.S. Supreme Court signaled in June that it wouldn't be extended beyond the end of July without congressional action. Business Idea- Thermal Imaging Services Posted: 31 Jul 2021 11:14 AM PDT I was thinking about buying a $700 thermal imaging camera, creating an LLC and then offering to take thermal imaging of someone's house. I would be looking at running water to see if there are any leaks, electrical to see if there are any hot spots, wall/insulation heat leaks, window leaks, and HVAC units. I would not be offering to fix these, I would not be offering recommendations on how to fix them. I would simply be showing someone the results of a thermal imaging camera which they could then take to a professional with those photos and see get a professional opinion based off of the pictures. The average cost of a thermal imaging service appears to be $150-$200, sometimes even $250. I was planning on offering full house scans for $100. I do not believe that I would need a license for this, as I need would not be "inspecting" in the traditional sense or conducting home inspections. I live in a major metro in Ohio, and i see value in this model for a couple of reasons. With how the housing market was earlier in the year, and still a little to this day, i believe that people would want to get an idea of any existing issues that they may have not been able to see from a home inspection if they did one. I believe the $100 price point is fair in the services provided, cheaper than the market average, and would leave the homeowners with a better awareness of existing/or lack of issues in their home. Please let me know what your thoughts are on this. I believe this is a good side gig, a small investment when compared to other ideas, and fits in line with something that I believe in.
