Why rich guys like bezos and musk investing in space?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 10:43 PM PDT

Hi, I know next to nothing about technology but I had heard Musk was interested in space and I thought maybe this is part of being rich and having too much money so you can think about stuff like space travel, so I sort of filed it under "rich guy has crazy dreams". But today I learned Bezos is no longer Amazon's CEO and wants to focus more on Blue Origin, his aerospace company. So I think I've been out of the loop and these rich guys know what they're doing and know they will make a lot of money from this. But can someone tell me exactly how?

How do I start a business ? Can someone walk me through the actual technical process ?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 12:28 AM PDT

Seaching how to start a business on reddit does not tell me the step by step process.

Who do I have to talk to ? The local Municipality ?

    Patents ? Documents ?

I already know what business I want to start. A subscription based parking lot.

I just need to buy local space/land where I can either build a 2-3 storey parking lot or underground.

Hire some guards for day/night shifts.

Problem is I dont even know what to do, to get this thing going. Who do I have to talk to etc ...

Do I have to talk to my local municipality ? Or a bank about acquiring space/land ?

Its a shame they never teach us this stuff in school.

Know any good books on creating an online store?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 02:27 PM PDT

First off I am completely ignorant about business. Been thinking about an online business using shopify because I really need more income. I don't have any computer knowledge either. Also what is the best way to make sure I'm 100% legal, I am not wanting to pay any fines I can't afford and I don't think I would fare well in prison. Please forgive me if this is annoying to those of you who know what you're doing. Any advice and criticism is welcome. Thank you.

Is Cold Calling People to do Yardwork for them okay?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 07:02 PM PDT

    Hi everyone,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I have a question about a service I could provide to my community. So I am a recent college grad, currently looking for jobs in my field. However, I was thinking that I could call people in my community/neighboring cities and offer to do their full yardwork for $40-$60 (while I am looking for a job in my field). I only thought about this because I figured this could be an easy way to make an easy $100-$300 while helping those in my community. Is this a thing? Or is it just weird? Just a thought I had.

Need advice on managing physical mail at work.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 03:55 AM PDT

Hello! I am a manager in a restaurant in Ocean City, Delaware side, and we let our employees who live in Maryland sometimes order things to the restaurant address since they spend a lot of time there anyway. Delaware is also sales-tax-free, so it is for their benefit. The thing is, I would like to have some kind of control over how much they are ordering to not turn the restaurant into a constant delivery zone. Let's say I will allow 3 or 4 orders per month because I swear, at times, the backroom is full of packages as everybody pretty much knows of this benefit, but they use it too freely. I would like to have some form of management over the mailbox, and I found this website: https://ipostal1.com. I would like to know if anyone has experience with such services and whether it will be possible to use them in my case? As far as I understand it, we could just choose a pickup address in DE relatively nearby and have them pick up from there as a business employee? I know it sounds strange, but both I and the owner (and pretty much every manager) like that our employees have this little perk of working with us and wouldn't want to get rid of it, but as I described above, it is important to not clutter the backroom.

We can afford the service as far as I can see and the only problem I have is the fact that people will lose the convenience of picking up orders directly from work. I wish we could just monitor the mailbox and have things delivered to us still, but I guess you can't have it all. If I missed something or there are alternatives to this solution, please let me know. I'm not too knowledgeable about this whole shipping and mail thing, so anyone who has more experienced is a guru in my eyes.
