Anyone planning to refinance for a lower rate this fall as soon as the interest rate freeze is up? Posted: 03 Jul 2021 04:16 PM PDT And how low have you been able to get your interest rates if you've refinanced in the past year? [link] [comments] |
Total Permanent Disability (TPD) discharge problem Posted: 03 Jul 2021 07:30 PM PDT Looking for guidance from anyone with a similar experience. About a month ago I was approved for TPD discharge. All of my loans are with Nelnet but it's listed as 2 different companies on my letter (Nelnet vs. Nelnet Loan Services Inc.). When I check my online Nelnet account it shows only half of my loans as discharged and the other ones in REPAYMENT with a payment due in a week! No one at Nelnet can explain and they all say oh don't worry about it, they're all approved, and don't pay it. Well I don't want bad marks on my credit report all of a sudden (in the process of a refi). I've taken preventive measure to cover the bases, but has anyone else had this experience? This happens to be my loans from 2006-2008. Thanks in advance y'all! [link] [comments] |

Heartland ESCI “missed” payment? Posted: 03 Jul 2021 03:48 PM PDT I have one loan through Heartland ESCI. The payments were being deferred by me and then all student loan payments were suspended until the end of September 2021 which is coming up. Heartland sent me a letter that I missed a payment last summer 2020, which would have been when my first payment was due as my deferment was ending. I ignored it because of the student loan payments being suspended. This week I got another letter that I missed a second payment now. For the past year I have not done anything with this loan assuming I understood I didn't need to do anything. I am getting ready to contact them on Monday to inquire about the status of my account but thought I'd post here in the mean time to see what others experience may have been. My two questions are: Has anyone else had a situation like this during the past year? Are my payments truly due with this particular loan servicer despite this nationwide suspension of student loan payments? [link] [comments] |
Just Graduated in April, but 1 loan says : "NTL EMERGENCY 2020 FORB - DELN " Posted: 03 Jul 2021 09:34 PM PDT Hi, I just graduated from law school in April/May (this year) (idk for the purposes of loans if they use last day of school or the graduation ceremony date), and I have 3 Grad Plus Loans. Two say "deferred" and one says " NTL EMERGENCY 2020 FORB - DELN" does DELN mean delinquent? because I thought we were supposed to get a 6 month deferment for Grad Plus Loans?? (Also, how the F can an account go delinquent during the whole covid thing?) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jul 2021 05:20 PM PDT I graduated in May with ~35k in debt, 10k was private and the other 25k is public loans. I make about 10k a month ATM but my job ends in two months, I've already paid off my private loans so Im just left with my federal subsidized and unsubsidized loans. I do have the ability to knock the remaining balance out if I really want to by September, but I plan on joining the military here in 1-2 years, in which case all my loans would be forgiven. I have literally zero education on my loans so sorry if this is a dumb question but can I just not make any payments and be fine within a few years? Does this affect my credit? What would be the best way to go about delaying these with minimal payments without wrecking my credit? [link] [comments] |
