Posted: 02 Jul 2021 04:49 AM PDT I'm literally sitting in the parking lot of a Dunkin putting off going to work. I've been in public for 12 years now (5 years with my first firm of about 100 people and 7 with my current firm of about 50). I'm miserable. Just needed to put that out in the world. How would you land a job as a rapper's accountant? Posted: 02 Jul 2021 01:54 AM PDT My dream job is to be the accountant that Drake, Dababy, Future etc mention in one of their tracks. Theoretically, how abouts would you pivot to that role from big4 audit? [link] [comments]
I envy people who stay at one firm, make it to partner, and stay for decades. Change my view? Posted: 02 Jul 2021 05:59 AM PDT I'm still relatively young. Even so I can just envision my career involving hitting the glass ceiling multiple times and having no option but to go somewhere else for better opportunities. I can't help but envy people who start out as associates and then make it to partner. That stability is something I cherish because I'm the type of person who is nothing special when I start out on anything, but with time I usually outpace others. I look back at my time at the Big 4 (I only stayed one year) and I wish I'd had that plan to just stay at one company (any company) and work my way up. I would've done things differently. I'm the first person in my family to work in a corporate setting so I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I was 21. Now that I'm a little older and know more, it's too late. What are some overhead cost that can directly allocated to production department? Posted: 02 Jul 2021 05:07 AM PDT This is a management accounting question. Does indirect material - lubricant for machinery AND indirect labour - supervisor wages count? [link] [comments]
Budget vs actuals at your company Posted: 02 Jul 2021 04:20 AM PDT I'm looking for some advice/ideas. I work for an auto manufacturer, and I've gotten roped into helping with budget vs actual reporting. The accounting processes here are from the stone age, it's all manual and all the reporting is built from month end close data in excel. It's so many lines that usually my laptop crashes a few times before I can get it to work. Is this normal?? I don't have trouble with the data itself, laptop crashes not withstanding, I'm just trying to come up with the best/easiest way to present it all. Manager wants GL level detail for each department, but wants it concise enough to fit into a short PowerPoint. I'd love to know how y'all do this task at your companies, like presentation wise or if you have software that does it for you, that type of thing. Please help! [link] [comments] |
