Deloitte Infinite Email Thread Returns Posted: 11 Jun 2021 05:36 AM PDT Even though this happened a few years ago, people are still dumb enough to hit "reply all" to ask they be removed from the email thread. Cheers to delayed emails for the remainder of the day! [link] [comments]
Jump in my hoopty, hoopty, hoop, I own that. And I ain't paying my rent this month, I owe that Posted: 11 Jun 2021 01:18 PM PDT This is an example of the balance of double-entry accounting and the basic accounting equation as it exists in Ms. Minaj's life. On her balance sheet, she has an asset (the hoopty hoop) which is a debit balance account. Additionally, she has a liability (the rent that is due) which is a credit balance account. Although these transactions are not related to each other. The transaction creating the hoopy hoop asset is a separate and distinct transaction from the transaction that created the rent liability. Just found out a coworker has 30+ felony forgery charges. Posted: 11 Jun 2021 05:33 AM PDT I just discovered that a coworker of mine has over 30 forgery charges and 5 obtaining money under false pretenses charges. I read an article that she was signing her ex father in-laws checks and cashing them. She served one year in prison and was on probation 3 years after that. As someone who works in accounting, this seems like a huge red flag. I don't think anyone in my company knows this as she was hired far before we had an HR department to do background checks during the hiring process. She's not a certified accountant, but has an accounting degree from an online college. I feel awkward knowing about this and no one else seems to know at my job. She claimed that she left her last job because she got tired of it, but I know she was actually arrested while at work and lost her job… it feels like she's deceiving the company. I also now am not comfortable knowing that only her and I share a key to the petty cash at work. Should I just keep quiet about this? Maybe upper management does know but doesn't say anything?? I don't want to seem like a snake bringing it up. But it does make me uncomfortable. [link] [comments]

I really got chewed out for using a pivot table lol Posted: 11 Jun 2021 08:18 AM PDT Sheeeesh. Really got chewed out because my Senior didn't know how to delete a pivot table. I even asked him if that was ok and he okayed it. Now, i got chewed out for it. Im sorry, but im not manually gonna click and make SUM functions for all the rows and columns (4000 column cells), count how many vendors got what of what and type it all out, etc., [link] [comments]

FDD Posted: 11 Jun 2021 04:14 PM PDT Wondering what type of opps people have gone to after moving to financial due diligence Came from audit after 2 years, and am currently a senior. It's great and the pay is competitive but I don't know if I can stomach the hours for more than 2 years Anyone have any experience in exiting and what types of opportunities are out there? Looking for advice: public to private Posted: 11 Jun 2021 03:06 PM PDT Hi everyone, I'm hoping to crowdsource some advice from CPAs who have made the jump from public to private recently. I am an audit associate & CPA at a large mid-size firm in NYC. I've done four busy seasons in less than two years with broker dealers, PE funds, hedge funds, & BDCs. The market for private jobs is insane right now. I am completely overwhelmed with options & everyone I send my resume to wants to interview me but I'm also hesitant to be picky because I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I'm dabbling in fund accounting, assistant controller & internal audit roles. Aiming for no less than $85k base salary + great culture & people I get along with. Not too big of a firm. Recruiters are shoving roles down my throat (having an especially frustrating time with Michael Page recruiters, one of which I reached out to & they proceeded to forward my resume and contact information to everyone & their mother - can anyone else relate??). My question is: how does one manage this??? How do I pick the good, the bad & the maybe? I'm scared I'll choose the wrong role with so much urgency and demand. How bold do I be in a market like this when negotiating compensation? Any & all advice is appreciated 🙏🏻 [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jun 2021 10:39 AM PDT Hey everyone, hope all is well and you guys are getting ready to have a great weekend!!!! I have dilemma I was hoping y'all could help me with. I currently have an offer at one of the Big 4 in their audit practice but a part of me wants to say fuck it and yolo everything in these meme stocks like all the dropouts from my high school are doing and making a shit ton of money. I think I would go all in on BlackBerry (BB) and sprinkle in whatever is this weeks favorite stonk and oh I forgot to mentioned I'd all invest heavily in the crypto-messiah Doge. What are y'all thoughts??? To the moon, broke money don't make no money, and Diamond hands don't fold is the MF'ing motto [link] [comments]

IT courses/ knowledge in Accounting Posted: 11 Jun 2021 02:02 PM PDT Hi guys, I'm a recent graduate and I'm trying to land a position as an accountant, but most of all job requirements include knowledge in IT like python, sql and so on. Could someone please explain to me how are these relevant to account? One job position required to have a background in IT. I just know about IT Audit requires this, which makes sense. But what about other type of accounting position? And if someone could recommend me what kind of knowledge should i at least have? Thank you :) [link] [comments] |
