Have you ever asked one discovery question that completely changed the tone of the conversation? Posted: 08 May 2021 07:27 PM PDT If the question requires context feel free to include some. I've had a prospect go from giving me short topical answers to spilling all the beans when I asked him what inspired him to become the CMO of his organisation. It was appropriate in the context of our conversation as somehow career path was brought up and once he got talkin he eventually listed all his departments pain points one by one in order from most severe to least. He helped me get the deal expedited and approved by staying on top of CEO/finance to make a decision. If you read this and have a good general or specific discovery question that you keep in your back pocket, don't be a bum. Share it because you never know what kind of an impact it could have for a random person scrolling through! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 May 2021 01:20 AM PDT I recently quit my job due to unhappiness in my position/location and am thinking about becoming an sdr and transitioning to a sales position. I have a bachelor's in math so I think the only other option to maximize my earning potential is to become a data analyst (currently completing the Google Data Analytics course). Is my potential to earn in tech sales much greater than in data analysis? I don't really want to study anymore hence my hesitation with data analysis. But I just wanted to see what people's experiences were like. I feel like I could do well in sales but who knows, I've never actually done too much aside from selling phones (non-commissioned in family owned store). FYI 32 male that has worked in property accounting and qa analysis and would like to be making 6 figures a year consistently sooner than later [link] [comments] |
Looking for a Sales Consultant to help me streamline my business? Posted: 08 May 2021 07:05 PM PDT I'm a commercial real estate broker and want to scale my business. However, I need someone to come take a peek under the hood of my operations and see how I do things currently, and how I can improve/tweak them. Not just for myself but to make it easy for new brokers to figure out/navigate systems quickly. When it comes to my CRM, I feel like it is too robust for what I need it for. I wouldn't mind switching to something else if I could. When it comes to how I get my email research done, there's a lot of prospects I never connect with because the accuracy of the emails I get is not great. When it comes to following up with people, staying organized, etc., I need a better process. If I can even marginally improve those things, I'd increase my revenue a ton. However, I'd like to improve these things substantially and I wish there were some qualified third party that could come in and help me. Does anyone have any recommendations? [link] [comments] |
I’m struggling as a BDR in a very Need based industry. Looking to change. Posted: 08 May 2021 09:10 PM PDT I am currently working as a BDR for a commercial roofing company. Basically I need to find all my own leads, usually canvassing businesses off google maps and getting the best PoC off LinkedIn. I then have to call and try to arrange appointments for our outside reps to do a roof assessment. Beyond the call to set the appointment, it is out of my hands. This industry is very needs based, either you will need a new roof or you won't. I feel like I'm not really selling or building value, just turning over stones. Also it discouraging that I have to find all the leads myself and when I do manage to find someone who would like to meet, it goes to a outside rep and is out of my hands. I feel like I can never really grow like this. I think I have potential and would like to be able to develop it. My pay with commission basically works out to minimum wage. I'm not growing or developing my talents here. What would you do if you were me? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 May 2021 04:58 PM PDT Heya - I hope this is cause for a post. I was just wondering if anyone here worked for Gartner in their Egham office? Considering the potential to relocate there from the Barcelona one and wanted to ask for some insight. [link] [comments] |
You don’t need to be an SDR or BDR in SaaS to land a high paying AE role Posted: 08 May 2021 03:23 PM PDT I've landed several offers after about 2 year in SaaS sales and I've just accepted an offer at a well know martech SaaS for 180k ote 50/50 split. I was never a bdr. Instead I started my SaaS foray in a closing role for a SaaS company that had smaller average deals but at much higher frequency and shorter sales cycles. By crushing quota, I made over $140k through 2020 and was promoted several times since taking the role. I earned the right to start closing bigger more complex deals which gave me experience that I needed to basically have my pick from several offers at great companies. If anyone has a similar experience I'd love to hear about it! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 May 2021 12:16 PM PDT Hello to my fellow sales folks- long-time member of the sub, first-time poster. I recently received an offer from a early-stage start up (Series A) to be their first sales hire. I would be bringing the company to 1M ARR and above. How much equity should I be asking for in my compensation package? I've been reading that it should be somewhere around .5 %. Is that too much or not enough? I've never negotiated equity before. I feel very strongly about this company, as the CEO has had a successful previous exit. Any feedback here would be greatly appreciated! Happy selling! [link] [comments] |
