    My investments mid-term

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 12:17 PM PST

I thought I'd share my Investment list. I follow a simple approach for assessing the potential of a company:

    1. Does it have a great product/service?
    2. Is the industry growing?
    3. Is the management team strong?

Below are a few firms I believe could be successful in the medium/long-term (this is not a short-term bet !):

Database/CRM: it is here to stay and will continue to grow. Large corporates are inclined to have their CRM and database external. It does not make sense to build it in-house:

    Database/CRM - Firms: Salesforce/Alteryx/Microstrategy/Snowflakes

Genetics: Genetics is the future for health care. The pandemic has accelerated research (more resources in FDA to review patents/trials and generally increased funding).

    Genetics - Firms:

Intellia and Editas: both firms have ongoing trials on gentech and have among the strongest technology in the industry.

GenoWay: customized, genetically modified (GM) models for genom engineering. With growing GenTech, the demand for such models will surge.

Sensorion: one of few GenTech firms focusing on hearing problems. Hearing problems is a huge market and continues to grow a lot.

Psycadelics/Brain Health: the Pandemic has and will lead to a lot of psychological stress and disorders. A solutions will be needed.

Psycadelics/Brain Health - Firms: Sage, MindMed, Numinus

FoodTech: FoodTech is the future and it will grow in future.

    FoodTech - Firm:

Agronomics: provides a portfolio of interesting firms in FoodTech

Valsoia: Italian producer of vegetarian/vegan products, like meat, ham, yogurt etc.: well established since over 20 years

Insurance: this industry will be disrupted big time.

Insurance - Firm: Lemonade: unique was of finding attractive entry points for insurance and position themselves well.

Energy: we are going to see a huge shift in energy consumption. Alternatives and batteries might be the future. Maybe Fuel Cell technology also?

Energy - Firms: FuelCell, Power Cell Sweden, United Lithium

This is just my way to position myself for the next 5 years or so. I do NOT check the markets daily. Every 6 months or so I check it and if something big happened, e.g. stock made a 10x, then I sell 50% and keep the reset. The cash I gradually re-invest diversifying.

    • I never use leverage. I only invest what I can afford to lose. You best investment is your job and yourself.
    • Do your own DD.
    • What I do: I have a plan and stick to it.
    • This is NOT an investment advice. Do whatever you think it right for you.

I am in my late 20s. Hence have a long investment horizon and do not worry about the volatility. For every stage in your life there is a different investment approach: take your bets early, reduce your risk with time.
