Posted: 07 Mar 2021 08:41 AM PST Just wanted to post this about members of our family who recently literally lost everything but the clothes on their backs in a house fire. Their home insurance which is USAA had the entire amount in their bank account within 7 days. Just wanted to say thank you for them to USAA. This is not an advertisement but a sincere thank you. Have a good day and wish my relatives luck. 🙌 [link] [comments] |
Rear-Ended, but insurance company claims I’m 20% responsible Posted: 07 Mar 2021 07:27 AM PST I was driving along city street in Chicago, when the car in front of me stopped to take a left turn. I also stopped as a result and the car behind me rear ended me. There was damage to the rear bumper and the lift gate. I filed a claim with their insurance company and the company is saying that under Illinois's comparative negligence laws, they are assessing 20% responsibility to me because I came to a "sudden stop." Is this a reasonable thing? What can I do if I don't want to accept this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2021 08:27 PM PST On January 12 my vehicle started to smoke from under the hood since the gauges are digital I can't tell you exactly what the temperature gauge was but it was one bar above what it usually is. I stayed right where I was and turned off the engine. The vehicle didn't move until a tow truck arrived(approximately 15 minutes). When he arrived he asked is it drivable to which I responded I would rather you not it began to run hot. I asked if we could just meet him at the shop it was going to because my two year old needed to use the bathroom. That was fine he said. I do not know how he loaded the vehicle, but I watched him start the vehicle and unload it. While he was backing it off the flatbed he did about $1800 in damages to my vehicle, which my comprehensive insurance covers. However, I just got my vehicle back Friday, and it has a plethora of mechanical problems that weren't there previously. I called my insurance company about the issues and I was met with " well tow it to a mechanic and if they can prove it was incident related they can request a supplement from us. " With all of that being said, if the original problem was a bolt somehow worked its way loose from the thermostat housing and was leaking, previous issue, the reason for was required to begin with how does one get their insurance to cover the mechanical issues that have come to light after the cosmetic damage has been repaired. My insurance seems very hesitant to help me, and even less helpful to reach out to me to solve this after texts, emails, calls, and voice-mails not being returned. So, currently two months later, I'm still without my vehicle and now on the hook for damages that weren't that prior, unless I can prove they happens from the incident.... I'm curious how I can get a modicum of assistance from my insurance company on this matter. So, any advice would be beneficial. 2017 Honda Civic Si and all maintenence records are available. This is in Alabama, USA. [link] [comments] |

Got into an accident on my Ebike today what can I do Posted: 07 Mar 2021 03:06 PM PST So I was driving straight down a hill and approaching the turn signal when the driver who hit me came flying out of a street and slammed into my side and I flew off the bike and it landed on my knee and I can barely walk now, I made an accident report after we exchanged numbers and I took her license plate and the cops are coming to my house to inspect my bike (which is completely broken and won't accelerate past 5mph now) She tried to pay me off on the side but when I told her the price she immediately made a report of a crash. What can I do here I don't have insurance on the bike can I still get some compensation for my bike and Injury's? I'm just confused as to what to do. Thank you! (I live in Canada btw) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2021 05:25 PM PST For property insurance in asia, Regarding insurance of stock, as far as I know only the owner of the stock can insure their stock and not somebody else. But what about the case in which the stocks insured is located at a warehouse and are imported by Company X which is also the company that 100% operates the warehouse. And another company which is called Company Y has a showroom located in another location. Company Y sells the stocks from Company X's warehouse through consignment through its showroom. But Company Y also sells other products in its showroom that does not come from or belong to Company X's Warehouse. So if this is the case, can Company Y insure ALL of the stocks "at Company X's warehouse" under Company Y's name (or the name of the owner of Company Y) in the policy ? So Company Y in this case is the consignee of Company X. But Company Y is also consignee for other companies as well.. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Mar 2021 10:19 AM PST Hi everyone! I really need advice and help! This is so unfair! I am new to America, but I always did research before seeing any doctor because I am aware that I can go bankrupt if I am not careful because healthcare in America is almost like a business. Now, it happened to me. FYI, I have been fighting with this medical bill for over 3 months now. I use Anthem BCBS, and I live in North Carolina. I went to see a hematologist in November last year. I made sure to let them know that my blood should be sent to LabCorp and filed everything directly to my insurance. In January, I got a bill from the hospital instead of LabCorp for $1800 for my blood test. It was expensive than usual, and I wondered why I did not receive a bill from LabCorp like I normally did. I always use LabCorp, and I kind of have an idea of how much each test would cost me. I found out later that the Doctor Office is owned by a hospital in NC. I also got a bill for using the treatment room (facility fees) of the hospital when I have never been to a hospital, and they did not let me know when I asked about the billing when I went in. Talking about the lab work, I found out from LabCorp that this Dr. Office has requested LabCorp to bill it as Client Billing which means that the bill from LabCorp did not go to my insurance directly. Instead, Dr. Office got the bill (cheaper) from LC and then sent them to the hospital, and the hospital marked up the price to $1800 when I know LC only charges me for $300. The worst thing is they made it look like the hospital performed the tests! I called LC and the first few people said I have to call Dr. Office to switch it from Client Billing to Insurance Billing. After a month of calls, I met a nice lady from LC and she helped me flipped the bill back and filed it directly to my insurance. The price was only $300! My insurance called BCBS to let them know about this scheme, and let BCBS warned the hospital not to do this again (File a claim for blood work when you do not perform the test/Client Billing). I did not pay LC yet because I am still fighting with the hospital and the Dr. Office to remove that lab bills since LC already billed me for that to make sure they won't be double billing. Last week, I decided to call LC to pay $300 for all those lab bills, but found out later that someone from Dr. Office has just called in to switch the bills back to Client Billing and I can only pay that lab bills to the hospital. Are you serious? They did it again? Their intention is if it is Client Billing, they will make more money from me. Isn't it unfair that if I want the bill to be switched back to Patient Bill (Billed to my insurance), I have to ask Dr. Office to do that, but if Dr. Office wants to switch the bill, they can do it without my consent? How unfair is it? I am the one that pay the bill, don't I have some rights to choose it? After 3 months of fighting for it, now it has gone back to Client Billing because of one call from the Dr. Office? I feel so hopeless. I have filed a grievance to my insurance, but all they can do is to put a notice on their system. I am going to try calling LC from tomorrow to find someone to flip the bill back to Patient/Insurance Billing, but I am afraid the Dr. Office will know and flip the bill back to Client Billing? How do I fight this? I am stressed and frustrated. I have done some readings online that this is called Pass-through/Client Billing, and this is illegal in many states because the healthcare provider can bill labs that were performed by other lab companies, requests the bills to be sent to them, and they can mark up the price to whatever they want? They take advantage of people. I feel so bad for the elders that I saw on the day that I went in. They might not know about this, and became victims. My questions:

Automatic withdrawal from my flex and bank account by nigh-scam therapist. Posted: 07 Mar 2021 08:36 AM PST So I have been burned by a shitty therapist. Not only does it appear that my insurance paid them out of my flex spending account, but they have automatically deducted $500 from my bank account (Which is $100 more than I owe them for their "services."). Is there anything I can do about this? State is Ohio [link] [comments] |
Just got my first job as an insurance agent! What to expect? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 08:28 AM PST So I just got a job as an hourly insurance agent in Georgia. It's the most money I've ever made at a job and I'm really excited to dive feet first into the industry. My question is what can I expect in terms of my work schedule? Are hourly agents typically on call or do they have set schedules? Is overtime allowed/expected? If so, how much is typical? I'm in a position where I need to stack as much cash as quickly as possible and I'm thinking about if I can/should get a second job [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2021 08:23 AM PST I transferred an NFIP flood policy from an existing client to new client purchasing the home. The policy is many years old and rated in an X zone. The property was remapped and now an AE zone, however the dec page does not say it is grandfathered. The client wants an explanation as to why it is not "grandfathered" is it a mistake or is there an explanation [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2021 12:00 PM PST I am a 19yo male in Georgia who's getting his first car! I'm grateful enough that I'm able to get a car and not worry about insurance, however, my mother intends to put me on her insurance, and she lives in Ohio. I am in college, but my permanent residence is in Georgia. Any advice or tips? [link] [comments] |
Transferring car to new state with out of state insurance? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 11:47 AM PST I need to register my car from NY to Connecticut. According to the DMV, I need proof of insurance. Will my current NY insurance suffice, or do I need to get new CT insurance first before going to the DMV? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Mar 2021 08:29 PM PST My daughter was born at home, quickly and unexpectedly, but healthy. Mother-in-law called 911 and an ambulance arrived soon after. They did a great job and transported both mom & baby to the nearest hospital 5 mi away. I assumed I'd get a big bill, but not two identical bills (one each for mom & baby) for $4300 each, both coded Advanced Life Support plus some nominal mileage fees and a night charge. I have a high-deductible PPO and my wife had already hit her deductible, so I ended up $890 out of pocket for hers. Great, worth it, no problem. My 10-minute-old daughter had not yet had time to hit her deductible. After fighting the $4.300 bill. ambulance company re-coded daughter's to Basic Life Support, so we're at $1,700, which insurance has confirmed will be 100% my responsibility. Can I continue to fight this or will it be fruitless? Only one ambulance was sent, one crew, etc., so I'm unclear why I need to pay for 2 huge charges. Based on what I've read on forums like this, $4,300 seems abnormally high from the start. Am in getting screwed or is the ambulance company justified here? I'm in San Diego, CA. [link] [comments] |
