PCI Compliance Levels for Merchants & Service Providers.

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 01:13 AM PST

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) outlines a set of requirements to help merchants secure payment card data against data breaches and card fraud. But, the requirements may not necessarily apply to all merchants equally.

The PCI Compliance levels for merchant mandated by card brands like Visa and MasterCard help determine the level of risk exposure and ascertain the appropriate level of security for protecting card data.

What information should be included if I (representing a sports team) would reach out to a company to ask whether they would be interested in a partnership/sponsor us?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 12:26 AM PST

I recently became the head of sponsorship at my team (Ultimate frisbee in Sweden). Since I have little to no experience in this sort of things I'd like to ask you what I should include in an e-mail when reaching out to companies etc to suggest a partnership.

Here's some thoughts I had: Should I suggest a deal at once? Is it interesting how much social media followers we have if they could get publicity from us?

I'm really new to this area, any or all help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Kickstarting Before a Business is Officially Created and Registered

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 10:44 PM PST

I'm hoping to start up an online business, but I want to make sure I'm doing everything legally. So I guess it's storytime.

I live in the United States. Late last year, I got a diagnosis for a genetic lung condition, and I was told by my doctor that I am particularly susceptible to permanent lung damage if I get COVID-19. In an abundance of caution, I decided to self-isolate absolutely as much as I could, and I had to quit my job. With all the time I suddenly found myself with, I couldn't stand to be unproductive, and I got to work on an idea that I had had for a while. I ended up designing a product and prototyping it with my 3d printer. Now I'm getting close to having it ready for production, but having not worked for months, I am pretty strapped for cash.

I have spoken with lots of people in my target audience, and I'm confident with my ability to fundraise successfully on Kickstarter. But here's where my problem comes in. I fully intend to create a business with this product, but I don't have the money I need to register an LLC. Is it legal for me to use Kickstarter under a business name that isn't registered yet? Or will I have to fundraise under my own name? I intend to put all funds into a separate business account, and all costs for backing rewards will come out of that, and I intend to keep it separate, even if I have to fundraise under my own name.

Anyway, I guess my question is this: How do I go about this? I'm sure it varies from state to state, but in general, what should I expect the law to be? What would be the smartest and most appropriate business etiquette? Should I just wait until I can save enough for the registration fee? Or is there a way I can make this happen under my current circumstances?

Thank you in advance for any help!
