We generated $100k in 45 days using 'brand positioning' Posted: 03 Dec 2020 08:46 AM PST It's easy as an entrepreneur to get obsessed with marketing — organic reach, paid reach, impressions, lookalike audiences etc., whilst failing to answer the most important question a customer has: "why should I care?" First, what is brand positioning? Business Dictionary defines brand positioning as:
If there is a significant gap between marketing strategy and your brand positioning, then that gap is eating up sales and revenue. As this gap becomes smaller, your sales will increase further — its that simple! For some context, I've worked in marketing for nearly 10 years, with a couple of years in Head of Marketing and CMO roles before starting up my own agency in London, UK. One thing we pride ourselves on at the agency is generating maximum revenue for our clients in a short time frame. We've had good success with this for the first year we were operating, but sales for our clients increased dramatically when we stopped thinking like marketers, and starting thinking like brand managers. Branding pioneer, Marty Neumeier (lived in Sillicon Valley since the 80's and has designed for Adobe, Apple, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft) emphasises the need to pay attention to the order in which your customer will view your sales proposition (in our case, a Facebook ad). He's spent decades refining his thinking on this, with the biggest brands in the world. When a potential customer sees your ad, there is a moment when their eyes are looking right at you— this is your one and only time to shine. Neumeier calls this small window of opportunity 'the branding moment'. Neumeier lays out 5 stages of how a customer views a product on a supermarket shelf, with each stage often being entirely subconscious. There are very few people reading this that will ever need to sell a product on a shelf, but this framework is directly relatable to advertising on social media (I'll go in to why in a moment). First, the 5 stages:
When translated to seeing your ad on Facebook/Instagram this translates to:
Putting this into practice may seem straight forward, and you may be reading this thinking 'but, I already do that' — well if you take a look at one of your ads right now, with those 5 stages in mind, you'll likely see a significant gap between points. And what's important to remember is, if any of those points are weak, your brand positioning is weak — resulting in a breakdown in communication between your ad and your potential customer. Okay, so how exactly did we use this methodology to generate over $100,000 in sales? The first step was to turn off all ads and start again. We redesigned everything. New copy, defined new USPs, new tone of voice, new images. But for us, what was most important was to first understand what differentiated the products that we were selling, from their direct competitors so that we could effectively communicate this when considering point number 3 above. We spent a week drafting ads, editing, refining, until we had a completely different ad that the ones we were originally running. After we made the new ads live, the results were immediate. There is one question that has been asked by designers and their marketing counterparts since the dawn of advertising; 'what drives the customer to buy — logic or emotion?'. Well, it's both, if you use a clearly defined methodology you can tap into logic and emotion, allowing you to maximise sales. _____________________________________________________________________________________ I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts on branding within a marketing setting, and to hear from others who have had significant increases in sales by working on their branding. Everything I wrote above has been a total gamechanger for our clients — have any questions? Ask away! [link] [comments] |
I have made so many mistakes as an entrepreneur, and I have no idea how to get out of this cycle. Posted: 03 Dec 2020 06:43 PM PST I started my entrepreneurial journey about three years ago, after being laid off from a great corporate job. For posterity, during that corporate job, I was taking courses to learn app and full-stack development, and upon being laid off, opted to develop a SaaS-business. I lived off of savings, severance, and credit cards during that time, and after about 6 months, I launched my SaaS business. I ran the SaaS for roughly a year, generating around $20,000 in subscription revenue. Certainly not enough to live off of, and light-years away from what I was making in the corporate role. I was doing this myself; software development, backend development, graphics, sales, marketing, support, save for a few hired hands on Upwork. I ended up making a contact with one of the leaders in my particular industry, and we sat down for a dinner. It was a great learning experience, and while we had directly competing products, he ended up offering me an opportunity to consult for his company. The consulting paid far, far more than I was pulling in from my SaaS business, and I took him up on the offer. To avoid a conflict, I ended up reaching out to other competitors, and after about a month, found a potential buyer for my SaaS-business. In an effort to get the ball rolling, I agreed to make some improvements to the product, clean things up, and support the transition process as part of the deal. I ended up selling for the same $20,000 I generated in the first year. Now 18 months later, I am still working on those "improvements" to the product. In conjunction with that, as the pandemic began, I extended my contract as a consultant with the "leader," having been paid up-front for projects that were temporarily put on hold. So, after all of this, I find myself in a position where I am still fulfilling the obligations as part of selling the business, where I have been paid for work that has not yet been completed (and could be called for at any time), all the while, having not made any income since May of this year. I've tried to hustle in building other SaaS businesses/apps, but the reality is, software development takes a long time, as a one-person team, and despite a backlog of a few completed projects, I have no idea how to continue this journey. As someone with a family, I've started applying for traditional jobs. It's overly frustrating because I consider myself seasoned, have the confidence of having been a consultant to a highly-visible industry leader and having sold a business in the space, but my practical software development and management experience doesn't translate to larger teams. I just don't have that team experience, and convincing myself that managing Upwork remote employees puts me in line for a senior-type role, or manager, has yet to pan out (I also realize how well I was paid at that corporate job before being laid off, though that was not in the software space). While I don't know that I'll give up all hope for entrepreneurialism, I find that this is such a hard journey. The excitement of a paycheck, of a new opportunity, of a new path, certainly makes us agree to things that seem within our realm of capabilities, though, as I've learned, that can just lead you into owing more and more work and extending the time to work on other things and ideas. This post doesn't really have a question, except for the wonder if anyone else has been here, and if you've overcome it? [link] [comments] |
I have an idea for a food product and the funding.. I don't know how to do it? Posted: 03 Dec 2020 10:26 PM PST I am currently in real estate business and I am doing very well. I have had this one idea for a food product which exists already and it's very popular. It is very similar to cheesecake with a lot of varieties. The issue is that I am not a cook/chef. This idea has been in my head for years now and I finally have some throw away money to test it. Ideally, I would like to hire a dessert expert/chef - give them the recipes for each item and the vision for the product. Have them create the product and ship it locally and sell through website. The problem is, that I don't know if it is just that easy. Is it easy as hiring a team and creating and selling? I'm not talking about the branding and marketing. I'm more concerned about the actual creation of the product. Are there food incubators that will create your product? I don't want to work with a copacker, because the vision is more fresh/daily made - not manufactured. More personal. At the same time it is not a bakery idea because I would like to create a box full of desserts. Like cheesecake factory has 10-15 cheesecakes they make and sell. Something similar. I have about $40,000 that I am willing to invest in this and another partner willing to invest if it does well in the beginning. I just don't know how to get the ball rolling. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2020 10:12 PM PST Hello - this is my first post on this community. I'm autistic so please be kind! I struggle with marketing myself but would like to earn enough to live (no millionaire aspirations). I am a former university lecturer and would like to offer university tuition to students. How would I market this to them please? (Preferably free). I can build my own website but am clueless on SEO etc (and not sure it is worth it for this?). Many thanks for reading. Edit: I was going to offer either group or individual private tuition for university undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Subjects I can tutor: Python, Statistics, Finance, Algebra, Calculus, JavaScript, C, C++, "Machine Learning" ... tech stuff I am open to alternative suggestions, discussions, advice, mentoring you name it! I have been having a pretty torrid time of it this year looking for work and I have a family to support!! [link] [comments] |
I can't decide if I should learn to build a SaaS, or hire someone to do it for me? Posted: 03 Dec 2020 05:59 PM PST I'm tech inclined, I'm a web developer, designer, I even do video production, branding, and marketing for work. I'm a "jack of all trades" when it comes to online business. Therefore I lean toward doing everything myself when it comes to launching a new idea. But lately I've had a SaaS product in mind. Backend develop is completely foreign to me. I started on a couple tutorials last week, and I'm sure after a couple months (and many hours) I could hack together a semi-decent product... But then I started to think... Am I wasting my time? I can already design the software, develop the landing page, create a promotional video, launch an ad campaign... I should focus on that. Yet here I am trying to learn software development? I've never invested "real money" into an idea before (other than ad spend) because I can do everything myself. Sure it takes longer, but there's no risk. Now I'm thinking of spending 5K to build this micro SaaS product... But I'm not sure it's the right move. The idea of having this flop freaks me out way more if I sink 5K into it. Maybe that's a good thing. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2020 11:43 PM PST Hi Entrepreneurs, I'm currently struggling with my business and I will be appreciated if anyone can give me some advises to get out of this situation. I started this business 3 months ago with a friend while doing a full time job. In first 3 months he does 70% of the sales for me, most likely through his friends and connections. 30% of customers are mine, things went ok. We make 30-40% gross profits on each sale and I gave him commission for 15-20% as large numbers of customers were from him. But 2 days go, he told me to not store many stocks because he is afraid in this season, our products cant sell much but just 1 week ago when I confirmed with him if we buy this much stocks, can we sell. He said ok. In addition, he was asking me few questions where are the supply source and are they taking care of us good recently blah blah... Now, with my full-time job, it is very hard for me to get customers because we mainly sell in our small area and most of the customers came through connections and know each other. If I want to sell by myself, i need to invest a lot money on E-commerce which many other competitors already did and they have big money to invest in SEO to come out top search which I cant compete now. So, am I overthinking too much or my friend is thinking of selling by himself and not working with me. What steps should I take to avoid or prepare in this situation? Thank you very much [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2020 03:24 AM PST Hey, For the past couple of years, I'd been pondering the potential for an online course or a book, something saleable, using my skill set around animation production. I run a small studio in the UK (founded back in 2014), and it's grown steadily with a cool team, clients, nice studio space, repeat business etc. etc. But it's a service-based business, so the idea of a passive income has always had serious appeal. At the start of the year, I expanded our studio space and took on the ground floor of our building to offer up a cool permanent film studio space for clients. But... 2020 took a turn for the worse. Lockdown came, remote working became the norm. The animation side of the business was continuing to thrive but filming clients was looking less viable for the foreseeable. I took the decision to reduce overheads and halved our rented premises, said good buy to upstairs and kept the film studio space (and breakout room). Everyone was working at home now anyway. I then set about writing my first online course. I ran an Earlybird offer, to check there was any interest and was over the moon when I got the first sale back in mid-August. (I shared that story on here at the time.) The early bird did well, making close to $3k or $4k in the pre-sale offer. Which was good and above all it gave me the confidence to know there was the demand for the course subject. I'm pretty sure, I would have run with it after the first sale alone, (but maybe of reflection, I'd have decided to refund them and call it a day) But.. it did have the signs of potential. After the Earlybird, the sales fell off a cliff as the tempting time-limited offer was gone, which I expected to happen. By now I was really focused on making the course content, writing, filming, editing, uploading. As well as creating web pages, blog posts, a private (paid) Facebook group. All based around the course. I loved it all... and was happy working on it, late into the night, early in the morning and around my normal studio work duties... But... wow!... I had not accounted for how long writing and filming good quality content was going to take. Attempting to maintain the enthusiasm to produce useful, valuable content almost every day for weeks. Whilst also running the normal studio business and maintaining some semblance of normality for my wife and two young kids. There were definitely slumps at times and I'd not recommend making such a large course straight off the bat... if I was to do it again, I'd start smaller. But sales.. were still really very flat. I needed some way to spur on the interest. It was time to start building up those marketing funnels, sales funnels, content marketing... all that fun stuff. :-) The marking effort: I filmed a free mini-course. Currently at 6 or 7 videos. Which people can enrol in and share their email address. The plan is to add one video per week *ish for a while. Once enrolled they're given a 6-day limited-time offer with a discount of about 40% on the paid course. I've set up an email sequence on ConvertKit, which politely, helpfully, points out the benefits of the paid Pro course and reminds them of the days left on the offer. I've spent a lot of time now trying to make sure the Pro course really is good value. I also ran a small Facebook ads campaign promoting a free downloadable PDF checklist. Which once downloaded, I follow up with an email about the free course on the same subject. I'm getting into the habit of producing helpful videos and sharing freely on Youtube, directing the viewer to our free and paid course at the end. I even did two live videos on Youtube.. which puts me massively out of my comfort zone but perhaps it gets easier with time. Subscribers are slowly.. slowly increasing... I think it's at 1.6k now. I set up a free, open Facebook group that has a good amount of community spirit, which only needs a little nudge to keep the conversation going. It's a nice space to chat and help freely, plus provides an opportunity to remind folk about the free course and the paid pro course. It's been 2 months since the course went live. With 98% of the content now there, I'm due to add the final pieces over the next two weeks to really round off the course curriculum. The earlybird students so far are really happy with the content. I'm sure I'll add more over the coming month too. Plus I'm considering running a monthly webinar too. I'll start asking for some testimonials in the new year. The Results: After A LOT of hours and lots of questioning myself about whether it's even worth the effort and fighting waves of imposter syndrome and particularly the thought of "Was the Earlybird sales success just some freak anomaly?"... The engagement across the different platforms, the email lists have lead to 265 enrollments on the free course. Last week I had around $897 in sales... all via people who'd enrolled in the free course and made use of the offer each, paying $299 each. The last two days I've had a further $897 in sales. The total now is over $8k... and if it continues, it has the real potential to enable me to dedicate more time to it, provide more value, make more content both free and paid. I'm keen to try and up the marketing spend on Facebook (and elsewhere) and geek out with the analytics, to see how well the investment equates to sales. Also, this week, I've set up our first affiliate option and have a company on board who have a large regular audience in the target niche who are going to market the course. So hopefully that will equate to further growth, and be well worth their effort too. Good luck with whatever venture you're pondering yourself. Cheers [link] [comments] |

How do I find time to create consistent content w/ a crazy full time job?? Posted: 03 Dec 2020 05:39 PM PST So I am a food blogger that's passionate about making my hobby (cooking/baking) into my full time career. However, I have to work this crappy full time job so that I can pay my bills and have food on the table which is like 4 days a week but an hour commute to and from my job and the hours are crazy I'm working 12 hour shifts getting off late at night. My job requires a lot of physical labor pretty much moving all day and by the time I come home I just want to knock out and I'm always exhausted. Cooking and baking also require a lot of my time as well as creating good content to share like writing recipes, captions, blog posts, & photos/video editing is additional time. I feel like I'm always chasing down the clock and am feeling so burned out. I am very passionate and willing to work hard for this but I feel like I just can't seem to catch up no matter how hard I try. I am wondering if any of you have any advice on how I can manage my time better and create consistent content without feeling burned out? [link] [comments] |

The book offers powerful strategies on how to build self-discipline and practice self-control when needed. If you wish to live a healthier, more focused, successful and happier life and often struggle with managing your addictions, temptations, cravings and procrastination, this book is for you. The book begins with highlighting the importance of building your willpower because it is through exercising it that you can often make better, more informed decisions in life and do things that are important. In the following chapter, Kelly McGonigal moves on to discussing the importance of being aware to practice self-control. The key to becoming disciplined and strong is to build self-awareness. McGonigal discusses how one needs to be conscious of his or her choices, be aware of what goes inside him or her and on the outside and then know how a certain choice would affect him or her to make the right choice and opt for health, happiness, success and delayed gratification. The author says, "Without self-awareness, the self-control system would be useless. You need to recognize when you're making a choice that requires willpower; otherwise, the brain always defaults to what is easiest." Another of her quotes reads, "Most of our choices are made on autopilot, without any real awareness of what's driving them, and certainly without serious reflection on their consequences." Next, Kelly McGonigal discusses the conflict between two minds. Often, neuroscientists argue that while we do have one brain, we have two minds. One of the two is the monkey mind that seeks instant gratification and pursues whatever catches its fancy. The other mind is the 'rational' mind, which is capable of making more informed decisions after enough rational thinking and discussion. This mind makes us seek delayed gratification and think of what would benefit us in the long-term instead of chasing what seems gleaming to the eye right now. Like Kelly writes in her book, 'There's the version of us that acts on impulse and seeks immediate gratification, and the version of us that controls our impulses and delays gratification to protects our long-term goals. They're both us, but we switch back and forth between these two selves. Sometimes we identify with the person who wants to lose weight, and sometimes we identify with the person who just wants the cookie. This is what defines a willpower challenge: Part of you wants one thing, and another part of you wants something else." To build willpower, you need to train yourself to think from the rational mind and slowly silence the monkey mind so you make better decisions for yourself. In the later part of the book, McGonical talks about how your physiology and psychology affect one another. If one is disturbed or weak, the other becomes influenced as well. To build a strong state of mind so you can exercise your willpower, you need to work on shaping the right bodily state that activates your mind's ability to practice control. This is when you are calm and peaceful so relax yourself, be grateful of your blessings and focus on the positives in life so you can practice self-control when required. Kelly mentions how stress is arguably the number one enemy of willpower. When you are stressed and exhausted, you are likely to find it difficult to think rationally and make rational decisions. If you analyze your behavior, you will see that the worst choices you often make, from binge watching movies to eating one calorie-rich meal after another, are mostly done in a state of stress. To be strong and disciplined, learn to combat and manage your routine stress so you stay peaceful and think logically. The last chapters of the book are dedicated to discussing techniques to combat stress so you can easily exercise your willpower and become disciplined. McGonigal advises her readers to meditate regularly for it is an amazing way to manage stress, nurture inner peace and build self-control. She writes, "Neuroscientists have discovered that when you ask the brain to meditate, it gets better not just at meditating, but at a wide range of self-control skills, including attention, focus, stress management, impulse control, and self-awareness. People who meditate regularly aren't just better at these things. Over time, their brains become finely tuned willpower machines. Regular meditators have more gray matter in the prefrontal cortex, as well as regions of the brain that support self-awareness." She also advises her readers to make a habit of exercising regularly, as it activates your mind, energizes you, gives you a nice boost of feel good hormones and builds your stamina. All of this helps you exercise better self-restraint. Also, take deeper, slower breaths instead of shallow and rapid ones, as they calm your stressed nerves making you think and act better. Lastly, she advises the readers to be kind to themselves, especially when they make slip-ups because being harsh in tough times makes it difficult to stay positive and disciplined. The book is enriched with rational, meaningful advice which if you apply to your practical life can help you think, feel and act better and make better decisions in life. [Tip] Find out if your prospect is using your competitor's solution Posted: 03 Dec 2020 01:11 PM PST Hey entrepreneurs! I'm new in this subreddit (usually hanging out over at PPC Ads) so I wanted to start off by sharing a little "hack" I discovered to know whether or not your client prospects are already using a competitor's solution. Your competitor probably has a signup page, right? Duh... And you probably at least have your prospect's email, right? I sure hope so. If your prospect is using your competitor's solution, odds are you won't be able to create a new account with the same email. You'll probably get a response like "Sorry, an account with this email already exists. Please sign in.". And voila! You can than tailor the next email you'll send to your lead, for example : "How my solution is a great alternative to X". If you only have a couple of main competitors, you can probably industrialize this with a small script and feed the info to your sales tool automatically. I hope this helps some of you out! Can you think of any other way to get that info or use it differently! Cheers [link] [comments] |
Books that have helped you the most Posted: 03 Dec 2020 07:25 PM PST Which books do you recommend me to learn business and Personal entrepreneurship right from the start? I don't know anything about making business. I'm in my mid 20s, very ill and with a condition that makes office work very screwed up for me. But I have to become independent from my parents and I need to pay for my treatments to regain my health. For this reason it is necessary for me to educate in personal entrepreneurship to go ahead. I have an architect degree, but haven't been able to work at an office for too long. What are the books that have helped you the most to improve your entrepreneur skills? [link] [comments] |
Dealing with self-doubt about your idea and future Posted: 03 Dec 2020 07:21 AM PST I am currently working on starting my own company and have built a simple prototype. My co-founders and I have spend some time validating and discussing our product, and we do believe it can solve the problem we address, maybe we need to perform more rigorous product validation. However, I still feel this sense of self-doubt, maybe I've reading too much into the failure stats for starting a company, or the accomplishments of potential competitors. Even if all goes well what if something happens that puts us under the ground and prevents us from accomplishing out long-term vision. At times I feel really optimistic and at other times I feel really pessimistic and lose motivation, it goes in waves. All in all, I would love to hear some advice or wisdom when it comes to overcoming doubt and cynicism. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Ten Useful Tips for Entrepreneurs While Creating Websites Posted: 03 Dec 2020 05:59 PM PST Entrepreneur who has no much knowledge in the Website launching could fall into a trap in the hands of inexperienced, fraudulent, factitious Website developers. This special article is just to create awareness amongst the Entrepreneurs and I can also say that this article is a dedication to them. Our ancient culture teaches us that I quote "one should follow a Principle or go by the way the elders shown the way, because, they have inherited these values from generation-down-to- generation" I unquote. Or I can say from time immemorial. Similarly in the cropping up of the desire of creating and launching of Website the Entrepreneurs must select a genuine, worthy, eco-friendly Website Developer. I am cutting short this valued article or restrict to the barest minimum of offering ten valuable tips to the Entrepreneurs, for benefiting themselves in the selection of genuine Website Developers. Tip No. 1: What is a Website, and why at all it should be created? The answer is that through a World Wide Web (www) the Entrepreneur gets the benefit of throwing open to the public his Company's profile and its obligation to the viewers who are really in need of their products that are Manufactured/Stocked and Traded. Hence there is a need to approach a reputed Website Developer for the purpose. By this creation, mainly the manpower required for the propaganda and selling of the products worldwide is saved to a great extent. It minimizes the cost of products that are sold, saves the establishment expenditure, and saves energy in the verbal talk explaining about the specification, number of products manufactured, its quality, Lab/inspection facilities used etc.. Tip No. 2: How the Entrepreneur gets the viewer's response? The viewers of the Entrepreneur's Website get first hand information about the products availability to suit their requirements, and instantly fill up the Dynamic Enquiry Form in the hosted Website itself and submit to the Entrepreneurs Website mail ID, which reaches within split second of the submission click. By this, the valuable time to be spent in the posting, faxing, telephoning the requirement of the products to the Entrepreneurs is saved. In the other way also, the Entrepreneur can contact the Viewer who has seen their Website, through their contact numbers, mail IDs etc. All is done by sitting in a cabin itself. Tip No. 3: What else the Viewer sees from the Entrepreneurs website? In addition to the knowing of the product's availability, the viewer also sees the products image, its specification, the quality certificate awarded to the products manufactured/traded, Lab Tests and inspection report on the material etc., which gives a confident to the viewers to mail their requirement. Tip No. 4: How to grow confidence to the viewers about the Entrepreneur's products that are used globally? Normally the human tendency is that if a reputed Company uses the products of the Entrepreneurs, the subsidiary Companies, and other valued customers also would follow the same, till a product gets it name in the global market. Hence e it is desirable to mention in the Website Page, the name of reputed Companies and the quantum of products sold etc., which will grow confidence to the viewer to purchase the Entrepreneurs products. Tip No. 5: How to avoid the non-genuine, fraudulent, factitious Company Web Site Developers? This is also an important point to be kept in the mind by an Entrepreneur. In this 21st Century, there are lot of non-genuine, fraudulent, fictitious Website Developers emerge day-by-day, just to make money without proper planning. Neither they have any professional background nor do they have finance background, or any experienced technical personnel available with them. They one fine morning simply open a shop with a name in a small room posing themselves as a reputed Developers and keep some close friends to support them in canvassing of Entrepreneurs. After collecting huge money towards advance payments give time for the Developing of the Entrepreneurs Website and suddenly vanish one day completely winding off their Website Development business. We read number of such instances in the leading Newspapers and also see through media channel. Entrepreneurs must know the genuine Website developer through Market Enquiry, or from reputed Agencies, before committing and placing order for the Website development. Once if an Entrepreneur gets involved with such fraudulent Website Developers, it will be very hard to come out of this trouble, and the real purpose is lost. Tip. No. 6: How to assess the cost involved in the creation and Website Development? Above all, the Entrepreneurs must exercise a strict control over their finance to be advanced to the Website Developers. This can be done by selecting few reputed Website Developers or Enquiry from known reliable sources, or by inviting quotations from a duly Registered Website Company. The price aspect involved can be analyzed through the competitive rate of quotations received, and further negotiations with the quotation, or else call each one of the Company who have quoted for a negotiation across the table and take a final decision before placing the order for the Website development. This is a safest way. Tip No. 7: How to know the real benefit achieved or not after the creation, development and launching of the Entrepreneurs Website? Every Entrepreneur wishes to achieve maximum benefit out of the Website launching. It is quite reasonable. That is why a popular and reputed Website Developer is required for this purpose. Simply because a Website Developer charges lower price, the Entrepreneur should not entrust to them the job of creation, development and launching of Website. Price is not only the criteria, the quality of construction of Website and the maximum benefit offered by them by way of giving additional pages, the long run usage etc., are also to be kept in view. I can assure the Entrepreneurs that a surely a good, reputed, professionally and financially having good background, a Registered Website Developer will be very beneficial in the long run. Tip No. 8: How the Entrepreneur gets satisfaction with the Website Development? Also the Entrepreneur must see that their Website is created, Developed and launched are as per their thought, necessity and worthiness, which brings satisfaction in the creation, developing and launching of their Website. Tip No. 9: How to locate the Entrepreneurs Business place, the means of availability of transport etc? This is also an important aspect the Entrepreneur must look into. We see now-a-days number of Industrial area is created so as to have a concentration of business in a secluded place which at times, goes outside the city limit. Hence It is better to have a location map, a rough sketch of the Entrepreneurs place duly marking the area with distance, the nearest availability of means of transport by Air, Rail, Road, Port etc., so that the viewers gets a choice of means of transport to suit their convenience. Tip No. 10: How the Entrepreneurs expect the viewers' response? Last but not least, I would like to say that the Entrepreneurs would expect the response from the valued viewers in many ways - say by post, by telephone, by fax, by Mobile phone, by Landline phones or by personal visits etc. It should be the responsibility of the Receptionists/floor in-charge to immediately respond to the callers/visitors. For this purpose, a Page exclusively earmarked as CONTACT US; which will be uploaded in the last page of the Entrepreneurs Website. This page must reflect the Entrepreneurs full name, complete postal address with Pin Code, nearest landmark to their place, e-mail IDs, Contact numbers, Grievances Cell, purchase and sales department contact numbers with in-charges name. This will facilitate the viewers to easily transact their business with the concerned officials without wasting much time. Posted: 03 Dec 2020 11:38 AM PST Droppshipping? The fuck is that? Shopify? For probably a full year I thought it was idiots trying to say Spotify. Now I'm the idiot. I'm not interested in these methods of "financial freedom" but I would've been interested in at least learning about them before they became outdated. And that goes for all the up and coming industries and companies, I can't even name them because I don't know what they are at the current moment. How do you guys keep yourselves up to date on how people are earning, what's selling, and where markets are headed? I know yahoo finance is good but I'm looking for less generalized, specific stuff. I know no ones going to tell me that Xcompany is going to be huge in 20 years, but someone out there IS calling it as we speak and I feel like I'm not giving myself a chance to be exposed to it. Shopify Store $100k in sales vs $100k in Profit Posted: 03 Dec 2020 05:31 PM PST See, if someone says they have $100k sales don't think it's a good number. As, According to a survey. $100k sales get about $3,000-5,000+ profit only( profit also varies according to product). This situation is not of only Shopify stores but companies like Uber and Spotify has no profit and if there is new competitor in the market. They suffer while luxury companies like LV has a large margins of profit. Most people get fooled by fake guru's saying we had $10 million in sales but where's the profit. You are not getting product for free. People starting new stores suffer from this and have more loss than profit. I only recommend you one thing look or ask for profit next time someone is asking you to join his course. Why they sell ? Courses when they have Shopify stores because the main profit is in selling course and it is passive income. They sell prebuilt Shopify stores as it's also profitable. Sales is different from profit ☄️ [link] [comments] |

How to overcome being a sense of failure, even though you know you are trying Posted: 03 Dec 2020 04:27 PM PST Hi, I have been a serial "wantrepreneur" for some time, talking to people about how I would start my next big project or start my own business at some point. This was a weakness in my character that I have slowly become aware of over time, with the help of this sub and a few other online resources. I have got a full-time role in the financial services sector and have been growing steadily in my career. About 4 years back, I had been offered an intermediate level position at a bank (with a decent pa-jump) and the role was great. However, during this time, a new start-up popped up in the financial services space which has gathered quite some momentum and made a name for itself in the media. Now, this was started by a group of my ex-work colleagues that I thought I knew well and had spoken with re. my financial services idea for a potential start-up. I know that execution is everything and an idea means nothing. However, since then, I have had this feeling gnawing at me that if anything, I may have missed out by not jumping on the opportunity myself and kick-starting my start-up dream (even if that was on the side of my full-time gig). Since then, I have started a financial adviser service (mid-this year) and gained 5 clients already. I have just been offered a senior position at another organisation, which is awesome. But I have a few questions in my mind:
I do think I have depression and the realisation of being a wantrepreneur doesn't really help matters. But, I do take responsibility for my actions (or lack of), and would like to take the opportunity to reflect, learn and move forward. For reference, I am 32 years old. Hope someone can provide some wisdom and kind words on how to pick myself up. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Profit Sharing Contract Request Posted: 03 Dec 2020 12:28 PM PST I have a potential client who wants to work with me via profit sharing. They are a brand new site with no historical e-commerce data. My guess is that it would take between 3-6 months of SEO work to start seeing a few hundred visits to their site monthly. I charge $2k a month for SEO, but they can't afford that. What would be a good counter? Has anyone been in this same scenario that they believe they can help a site grow, but are unsure how to price the contract via profit sharing? Should I do a small base salary and 10% of SEO earnings? My feeling is that I won't make anywhere close to $2k a month until past month six, so it feels like a bad deal for me at the start [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2020 04:03 PM PST Let's say I have an ecommerce company "ForeignCo" incorporated outside the U.S. ForeignCo sells products/services in its home country, but is unable to find a good payment gateway so incorporates a subsidiary in the U.S, opens a bank account there (under the subsidary) and signs up for Stripe payments So when customers pay ForeignCo online, the money ends up in the subsidiary's bank account. My question is: Will ForeignCo pay U.S taxes? Why/Why not? Follow on assumptions: ForeignCo's country of domicile has a double tax agreement with the U.S (And if not, what would happen) The subsidiary company is an LLC electing to be treated as a partnershsip, thereby becoming a flow-through entity [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2020 03:59 PM PST The Life and blood of our Websites depends Heavily on traffic to live, we know you can have the best looking site with all the attractions, but if no one visits your site it makes no sense and I'm sure you all would agree. However some don't care what traffic they received and how cheap it is, now I'm not saying free traffic is not good at all! Since we may have some low hanging fruit there as well. Believe you me when say CHEAP and FREE traffic is not the best traffic, there is a lot of traffic Some of these traffic scammers uses multiple cell phones that show different IP addresses so you think is unique clicks but it all from one place.
The list goes on. Don't let this happen to you folks. Spending money on legitimate traffic sources is a great idea! But, don't fall for the 100,000 visitors to your site for $19.99 or this will happen to you! Let's face it, part of the problem with dealing with ads from safelists elsewhere is they can be TEMPTING! Thousands of visitors and clicks for pennies and more. All they want is 20 bucks or even less, it all adds up quickly. The reality is that 10,000 visitors to your website will cost you about $100. Sales can drop that by 10 bucks, but that's it. Solo ads are the same, they should cost 40 cents a click at best. Keep these numbers handy because that Monkey you see above is what you will be if you don't! Be smart, learn about the vendor, track your links in more than one places if you can. [link] [comments] |
Math Argument With Business Partner! Need your help! Posted: 03 Dec 2020 03:54 PM PST Partner says they will pay fully for an employee but math isnt making sense. Partner and I are 50/50. Partner wants to hire someone, family member, that I dont want to hire so they said they will pay for employee 100%. They also wanted to give them a crazy salary, $250,000. His family member has no skillsets or experience. I don't want to hire the family member because it's their brother I've known for years who is notoriously trouble. We worked with him in the past. Partner understands the risks and has a soft spot for his brother and wants to help him out financially, it's my partner's money and family, I can get on board with that. Let's say my partner and I each get paid $50,000 each month from company profits. At a $250,00 salary (ignoring all other expenses for to make this simply) my partner's family member's monthly salary costs are $20,833. If the company paid for the salary, each of our monthly payments would now be $39,583.50, all other profitability staying the same, which it has. So if we are each making $50,000 a month before brother is hired... Here is the argument: I say, since partner wants to hire a family member and is willing to pay 100% of their salary, payouts should be: Me: $50,000 Him: $29,167 He says, since he owns half of the company, it should so he should only pay half the salary in his payout. Here's the thing, I think it's not accurate? What has happened is, company pays for employee, his brother, so remember, $100,000 profitability for each of, now minus $20,833, which comes to: So profitability is now: Me: $39,583.50 Him: $39,583.50 And so he now pays me: Me: $39,583.50 And himself: $29,167 Can someone help? Please note, I made up numbers to make things easy to understand, these are not the actual numbers we get paid but same exact situation. [link] [comments] |
