Best year for my commissions, worst year for my passion of sales. Sales and Selling

Best year for my commissions, worst year for my passion of sales. Sales and Selling

Best year for my commissions, worst year for my passion of sales.

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 07:38 AM PST

I know I'm super fortunate and could possibly be bitching for no reason. I closed out my second year in finance making 400k. I made huge strides in my financial goals this year but I am burnt out to hell.

Everyday is just waking up and talking on the phone for 12 hours a day. I barely sleep, I don't socialize, even working from home I probably only spend an hour of quality time with my family a day. I don't buy anything, I don't have any hobbies. I'm constantly just stressed about my clients and what fires to put out each day. I used to get hyped about 30-40k checks a month but now I'm depressed if I don't hit that.

I thought making all this money and being at the top of my game would make me fulfilled. But really I just feel like an overpaid bot. Anyone else going through the same burnout and know how to deal?

Best ways to find remote sales jobs.

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 05:47 AM PST

Hi everyone. I have 9 years of sales experience in banking. I am looking for a new sales job, so I put my resume on zip recruiter and applied for different remote sales jobs. 5 companies have reached out wanting to schedule interviews, but when I research the companies I see horrible reviews, and some reviews say the companies have pyramid scheme tendencies. Does anyone have any advice on how to find legitimate remote sales jobs?

Would love to hear other people's experience with a coach.

How to Handle the Pressure of Having My Fiance Depending on Me Financially

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 08:49 AM PST

I just got engaged and have been supporting my fiance for the last couple of months. She's having money troubles. Not debt just not enough cash flow coming in each month.

The first month I got her the money and more than she needed. Then this month I failed. It felt horrible. I felt like I failed her as a man. She also needs a wisdom tooth operation and she's in pain so I really have to get her money.

How do I handle the stomach sickening pressure of having to make a lot of sales when I have a woman I'm madly in love with depending on me? What do I do to stay non-desperate? It's really messing with my head. I'm going to be cold calling 7 days a week in January all month to stack up some cash but I'm terrified of failing.

Help please! I need some compassion and support.

I got invited for sales consultant as insurance broker. Do you have any advice or suggestion on how I prepare myself? Or any tips or suggestions as sales consultant altogether?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 10:26 AM PST

I worked as adventure tour consultant for 2 years. It was for bicycling tour company, sadly due to COVID-19 my job has left me. It was my first full time job ever, there was learning periods and I was doing good as people said for a new by who did not graduated from tourism. But as a sales person I feel I could be better.

Anyway, I currently work at customer service but keen on sales consultants and so this interview is really important to me. If any of you guys have any suggestion or advice or whatsoever please help to share this novice in the game.

Additional info: I feel like I enjoy simplifying info, guiding and working alongside interesting customer to find a suitable things there are looking for and whenever I can help them successfully decide or purchase I feel really happy. I know there are more things in sales area but I am really looking in learning more. Thank you for your opinion and suggestion in advance.

    Ghosting from prospects

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 06:27 AM PST

Do you have a process you follow when a (hot) prospect ghosts you or do you go by instinct and do it case by case?

Interested to see if people just give up on ghosts, or try and chase using different tools (whatsapp, linkedin, calling from hidden numbers, at odd hours...).

Anyone work for or know of Socio?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 06:07 AM PST

    Hi,

Does anyone here know of a SaaS start-up in Indianapolis, IN called Socio? Or does anyone currently work there or has in the past?

I interview with them next week and would like to pick someone's brain on the role, culture, and the company itself. I've researched online and have checked out Indeed/Glassdoor but just wanted to talk to someone who currently works there.

    Thanks!

How to counter "I had a bad experience" at a company that has a bad reputation

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 05:02 PM PST

So I'm currently in Telemarketing for a large Telecommunications company that tends to have a bad reputation for customer experiences. The services I'm selling are DSL, Fibre Optics, Satellite TV and Cable. In comparison of value the services are better than most providers out there, but the company has a terrible reputation.

I'm currently doing very well averaging 1k commission plus base salary. And it has been this way for 2 years. However I feel I'm not countering these particular objections properly. We are supposed to counter 3 times before we let the call go. Anyone have an idea of the best way to handle this?

EDIT: Thank you for the great replies. I'm currently taking everything in. To those asking I'm cold calling all of these customers. And they don't give us any loyalty discounts to work with. But the offers are competitive based on the area we are calling.

    Is this opportunity worth it?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 12:47 PM PST

It's a door to door sales job, I'd be traveling all over Canada and the average rep makes $40-$70k a year (according to one review I saw).

The potential earnings seem pretty poor considering most summer sales rep make more than that in four months and I'd be working all year. One of the positives is that all accommodations are paid for and honestly I'd really like to travel and relocate especially if it's free! Still I'm torn, should I give it a shot for 6 months? What do you guys think? It's 100% commission.

    Sales Operations Salary Comps

    Posted: 31 Dec 2020 12:30 AM PST

Looking for salary and OTE comps for sales operations director roles at tech companies. Hard to find clear numbers on sites like Glassdoor and Payscale. I know that these role will not be directly selling in most cases but are becoming important functions for growing sales orgs when it comes to forecasting and setting sales teams up for success.

Comp Plan Design - Enterprise Software Sales

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 03:36 PM PST

I'm joining a new company and my first project is tackling comp plans. The company currently does not have one.

In my experience, creating an On Target Earning (OTE) package that consists of Base and On Target Variable (OTV) with a split of 50/50 Base/Variable tends to produce the best results.

Has anyone had good results with a higher percentage of OTE being Base? The company is used to paying much higher base salaries but lower commissions.

    Price Expiration Rebuttal?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 01:55 PM PST

    Hi all,

Formatting this like an email, it's most comfortable to me. Oh the life of sales!

Hoping you can help me out. I've been working a project since June, the pricing will expire 12/31. They've given a verbal commitment, but no physical PO. I let them know that come 1/1, the price will be increasing (expectations set a long time ago).

Just today they began pushing hard on me, saying that if the pricing isn't maintained then what partner am I? The pricing shouldn't change just one day to next? The price is the price and I'm the customer, you have to maintain it.

They've dragged us along for a little while, and this is just another thing they throw at me. How do I rebuttal that argument saying yea, the pricing will go up and it will because of (XYZ)

Starting a sales job Monday – tips for someone with ADHD?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:09 PM PST

I [29 NB] am starting a new job (B2B outside sales) with a local craft beverage distributor on Monday. It's a brand new company and I would be not only taking over their existing accounts but prospecting for new clients. I come from a retail and book publishing background, so I'm confident in my sales ability. However, my ADHD and chronic migraines can give me major brain fog and mess up my recall, which could be problematic.

What apps, pro-tips, life hacks, etc. do you have for staying organized, following through, scheduling your days effectively. What newbie mistakes should I avoid?
