    Leaving before senior promotion?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 01:39 AM PST

Hi guys! First time posting here.

So I am a second year associate in the IT Audit group and on track to be promoted to senior next year based on my discussion with the partner. However for some reason I just don't really see myself wanting to stay in PA until senior. I have seen how stressed my senior constantly is and I just don't want to be on the same boat when I get promoted. I have been in-charging projects where I do almost everything including the admin side of thing and honestly it's getting pretty repetitive and I don't really care for it. Control testing is basically the same/very similar regardless of clients. I find myself dreading to get up for work because it's not challenging anymore. I have been casually looking at job postings for Senior IT Auditor position in industry as that's where I would like to be ultimately. Prior to PA I was an internal auditor in industry. My question is should I leave PA as A2 or wait until promotion to get out? I feel like waiting out until the promotion isn't really beneficial as the experience I have so far (PA+industry experience) would put me as a senior level associate anyway. And leaving right after promotion would not be ideal as that's when the busy season starts (I don't want to burn bridges). I also have my CIA and CISA certification as a FYI. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

    Tax season hours

For those working at smaller firms, do you get any additional compensation either cash or time off for overtime?

Our overtime hours have increased each year. I'm debating proposing vacation time for hours over 55 hours. We have employees would work more hours than others.
