Amazon announces $100 million logistics investment in Mexico Posted: 22 Oct 2020 10:06 AM PDT https://finance.yahoo.com/news/amazon-announces-100-million-logistics-050703674.html MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc said on Thursday it has invested $100 million in opening new warehouses in Mexico, including its first shipping centers outside the populous capital area, in a bid to offer faster deliveries. Amazon is also striving to make inroads in Brazil, where it recently opened its fifth and biggest fulfillment center in the country, with 100,000 square meters (1,076,391 sq ft). In both countries, which are the biggest economies in Latin America, Amazon is vying with local rivals for shopper loyalty, despite its ranking as the world's biggest online retailer. Amazon kept investing into Brazil and Mexico to grow the prime memberships internationally. With better logistics investment and more warehouses built, these will bring more value to the amazon shareholders. [link] [comments]
Here is a Market Recap for today Thursday, October 22, 2020. Please enjoy! Posted: 22 Oct 2020 01:03 PM PDT PsychoMarket Recap - Thursday, October 22, 2020 Stocks traded choppily once again, going to the red in the morning before recovering throughout the rest of the day. Market participants continue to closely monitor developments from Washington regarding stimulus, a better-than-expected unemployment report, and third-quarter corporate earnings. The Nasdaq (QQQ) underperformed today, finishing the day even. The S&P 500 (SPY) finished 0.56% up and the Dow Jones (DIA) ended the day 0.62% up. House Speaker Pelosi once again expressed optimism that an additional round of fiscal could be passed before the November 3 election, even as disagreements on key provisions remain in the White House. Pelosi said, "We're just about there. The president wants a bull. That's part of the opportunity we have. Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin were scheduled to speak on Thursday to discuss the deal, and the White House's last public offer stood at around $1.88 trillion for a stimulus proposal, versus the $2.2 trillion plan put forth by House Democrats. However, the proximity of the election and the lack of support for a bill in the GOP have market participants increasingly doubtful that a bill will be passed, fueling further volatility and uncertainty in the market. The Department of Labor released its weekly unemployment report, which showed that another 787,000 Americans filed for first-time unemployment claims, much better than the 870,000 expected by analysts. However, it is important to note an increasing number of individuals have exhausted state unemployment and have rolled into longer-term pandemic-related assistance programs. This shows the devastating effect the pandemic has had on the labor market. Today is the second and final presidential debate between President Trump and Joe Biden. The debate will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, and will begin at 9 p.m. Eastern time and run for 90 minutes. Highlights

What are the best stocks to buy and forget about Posted: 22 Oct 2020 12:21 PM PDT What are the best 10 year stocks now? Let me know your how you've done for yourself in your reply, looking for advice from those of you who have done this for at least 5 years and been successful. [link] [comments]
Sell put option premiums don’t make sense Posted: 22 Oct 2020 09:47 PM PDT I'm looking at GameStop to sell a put on nov 13 and it says a 9.5 gives a 40$ credit and 82% to profit but a 8.5 gives a 112$ credit and 70% profit and finally a 9$ put gives 56$ credit and 78% what does that mean? Turning 18 in a month and want to learn stocks before investing 5-10k Posted: 22 Oct 2020 09:22 AM PDT So I'll turn 18 at the end of November and will have about 5-10K saved up. I want to use that on the stock market but I want to use this time to train/learn through YouTube, reading, and or an simulated trading account. Do you guys have any suggestions! Thank you so much in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Oct 2020 05:16 PM PDT Hi y'all, I'm looking for a way to find forward revenue for companies. I use finviz (free version) for most of my fundamental analysis and I use macrotrends for past revenue and profit, but I'm having trouble finding 2021 revenue estimates for companies. Any leads? Also, looking for a free service if possible. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Oct 2020 10:22 AM PDT TBH Im really ignorant in this area so please correct me if Im wrong, but insider trading laws have always seemed really weird to me. If someone gets information that their company is about to tank, the most logical step is to immediately sell all their stocks while the price is still high right? Why is this illegal to do? It doesnt seem fair that they should be stuck with that soon to be worthless stock just because they have insider knowledge that the public doesnt. Seems to me that would be one of the benefits of working for a company, is you get to know how the company is doing financially, and can plan accordingly. [link] [comments]
Watchlist: 10/22 Sellers will Sell, Stimulus, & Election Posted: 22 Oct 2020 03:38 AM PDT Market Notes:No one is counting on a stimulus package anymore. The headlines can keep saying otherwise but it's not a realistic possibility before the election. The election is now less than two weeks away. A decent percentage of the nation has already voted. People are starting to reduce exposure to the market. Positions are being sold. The Fed is still a buyer, don't be surprised if the dip gets bought back up. Short list today. The trend is down. Futures are lower. I'm bearish. Watchlist:EVK is a low float, watching for a setup above $3 ISIG is a low float on watch AMTX is a low float, key level $5 CADE has resistance at $11.80 [link] [comments]
The stock market seems to be tired of politics Posted: 22 Oct 2020 07:05 AM PDT The market's current situation is mixed as it continues to be plagued by exhausted irritating headlines, which are filled with the buzzword everyone loves-optimism-but continue to be hit by the lack of agreement. the effect of earnings on the stockprice in the past Posted: 22 Oct 2020 12:54 PM PDT can I somewhere see the effect earning releases had on the stockprice in the past? And would this info be a good indicator whether or not an option straddle strategy would be good for that stock? [link] [comments]

Why hasn't anyone been able to accurately predict the stock market with artificial intelligence? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 11:09 PM PDT I think this is probably the most accurate prediction by humans. Because it considers many parameters. As far as I know, many companies have tried to make accurate predictions with artificial intelligence, but so far we have not seen those companies have great success. what is your opinion? Do you think that the combination of fundamental and technical analysis and news are still the best methods of analysis? [link] [comments]
How can I make money without day trading? Posted: 22 Oct 2020 09:51 AM PDT I started this week making real good profit trading but it didn't allow me to do any more trades because I don't have $25k in my account, now how am I supposed to grow to 25k without being able to day trade, it's already hard enough to day trade, now I'm supposed to swing trade which makes it even harder? I feel like I could be making some money right now just buying and selling but it only allows me a few times a week): [link] [comments]
Where to start learning about the stock market. Posted: 22 Oct 2020 06:48 AM PDT I am 15 year old and I find the stock market really interesting and would like to learn more about it. My question is, where do I start learning? I'd like to start from the basics. Im searching for a YouTube playlist, good books, sites, etc. I'd also like to hear from people who have (had) the same situation and if you have any tips about starting from bottom scratch. Thanks. CAUTION: Canadians be careful buying QBTC.U as a Bitcoin alternative! Posted: 22 Oct 2020 02:01 AM PDT TL;DR QBTC.U does not move in 1:1 correlation with Bitcoin; volume of QBTC.U is terribly low, and its price has actually moved counter to Bitcoin; you are charged using QBTC.U through "decay"; it's worth being suspicious enough of QBTC.U to just buy real Bitcoin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have held QBTC.U for nearly 2 months, at my own mistake of failing to do my due diligence, and have learned a few things I'd like to share: 1) Do not expect price action to move in exact correlation to real Bitcoin. For example, if Bitcoin goes up 5% in a day, do not expect QBTC.U to go up 5%, as well. More often than not, it will usually go up a fraction of what Bitcoin goes up. 2) Volume on QBTC.U is terribly low. Many a time, when Bitcoin has gone up, QBTC.U has actually gone down, or remained the same. 3) Most importantly, you should know there is a significant cost associated with buying QBTC.U which is charged to you through "decay". This is not disclosed by them. So, the longer you hold QBTC.U, the longer you are paying their fund through decay. To illustrate an example of how "decay" affects you, it would be as follows; let us say that on a day where Bitcoin costs $10,000 CAD, you purchase QBTC.U at a share price of $10 CAD/share. Then, say that the price of Bitcoin falls to $5,000 CAD, which should *loosely* mean QBTC.U falls to a share price of $5 CAD/share. So, you end up deciding to hold QBTC.U until Bitcoin goes back up to $10,000 CAD, to break even. Well, when Bitcoin goes back up to $10,000 CAD, QBTC.U should go back up to $10 CAD/share, too, right? Wrong. Your QBTC.U shares will only go up to $8 or $9 CAD/share, which means you now have to wait until Bitcoin goes to $11,000 or $12,000 CAD, just so that you can break even at $10 CAD/share. 4) Lastly, it's worth being skeptical of QBTC.U, as I'm personally not inspired with any confidence in its integrity. As far as I'm concerned, they can just disappear from the market any day and all your money would be gone. Long story short, if you're interested in investing/trading Bitcoin, then just buy real Bitcoin. I hope this helps some people. Cheers! [link] [comments]
I've always been confused on how it's uncommon to make 20-30% in the stock market Posted: 22 Oct 2020 07:52 AM PDT I'm not super experienced in the stock market (only about 1-2 years) but I don't understand how it's uncommon to get 20-30%. Can't you just invest in large cap stocks and get good returns? I invested into appl, tesla, amzn, baba, there were others I just can't remember them off the top of my head when I sold i ended up with 15-20% percent (this is during the pandemic which of course still around but the stocks were at a lower price and got a good deal). It looks like it common to get 20-30% per year on large cap stocks, so why is it uncommon? I'm not trying to sound like some kind of like stock market god lol. I'm not trying to sound like yeah I'm the best investor in the world I'm just trying to understand [link] [comments]
Why hasn’t Reddit issued any shares?! Posted: 21 Oct 2020 08:40 PM PDT I'm actually really surprised that a company like Reddit doesn't sell any shares of stock. I mean it's growing as quickly as Facebook with an annual revenue of $100 million. Why hasn't Reddit issued any shares?! It's kinda mind boggling. Can someone explain this to me?! How much sense would it make to invest in both ARKK and TSLA? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 08:10 PM PDT How much sense would it make to invest in both ARKK and TSLA? Portfolio is currently 16% ARKK but I would like to increase my weighting towards Tesla. Would it make sense to buy TSLA even with the overlap? I plan on adding to both positions over the long term.
