I have a really good idea for a website (gotten a ton of positive feedback), but don’t think I can do it myself. Should I patent the idea? Any advice?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 04:36 PM PDT

No experience or knowledge about this industry what so ever but I think it's a really good idea, just really not sure what to do now. Thanks!!

Edit: I have thought about hiring a freelance web designer to make it for me, but Apprently it's very complicated and would need a ton of money put into it that I don't exactly have.

    Confused High Schooler

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:13 PM PDT

I've made a program that has potential to make tens of thousands of dollars to millions based on the interest I've seen for it. What is the process of making a bank account for the money. The program will be sold privately, so how do I receive large amounts of money? Is there an age limit on business accounts? I don't have any previous bank accounts, checking accounts, credit card (not legal), or anything related to money. Really confused what to do.

Continuing on this route to progress something that my father has built is becoming tougher and tougher.

    Or

Go ahead on this path and try and dig it out.

Looking for a Company/Business for University Marketing Project

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:21 AM PDT

    Hi,

I'm looking for a business willing to collaborate with students from San Jose State University to complete an Integrated Marketing Communications plan for educational purposes.

"What is an Integrated Marketing Communications Plan?"

An IMC plan is the integration of all marketing communication tools into one program to maximize a company's impact on consumers at a minimal cost.

"How will this benefit my business?"

This project is a non-payed marketing plan that looks to enhance and potentially increase the sales and the brand influence of your business. Also, allowing students to complete a necessary assignment for the entire semester.

"What it's in it for the students?"

We're looking to succeed in not only completing our project for class but also developing a solid plan that will bring a business solid results. Simply put, helping you win will help us win.

Any help would be appreciated and please send me a private message if you are interested or have questions. Thank you for your time in reading this post.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 08:24 PM PDT

Hi! I currently live in the Dominican Republic. Me and my dad have recently come up with the business idea of being the official distributors of a certain brand in our country. The brand has a good market here plus we have the capital, we believe its a good idea. Anyways, my question is, Do you guys have any advice on what things to include in the application we are going to present to the american company to be the distributors? Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Best ways to Boost sales post lockdown in entertainment

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 06:42 PM PDT

Hello I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question but I need to advice. I am the sales manager at a trampoline park and we are still closed. Since I am freshly promoted I want to make a big splash when we return. I was thinking of working with local restaurants to get some sort of coupon or similar that we can advertise "every sale over X amount gets a free coupon to Outback or every sale on this day gets a free coupon to support local businesses" I think this would get more people in the door because: A. They get a free coupon or voucher towards good food. B) it's good PR/ gives people a small extra reason to come to us over our competition How would I go about this and does anyone have any constructive criticism?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 12:31 PM PDT

I have recently been working on a product that I want to be able to sell to a company. I'm a college student which means buying a patent (which has to be international) seems very out of reach. Any tips on go to get by without a patent. Thanks in advance.

    How to get sales?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 06:54 PM PDT

Hello everyone. I have just, last month, opened my business 360 Creativity. We had a very small advertising budget and have used most of it. We had about 1000 website views this month, but only 2 purchases. Both were from friends of mine. How do I get more people to buy from me? We have lots of social media reach, but little to no buyers.

How to get customers for B2B / B2C SASS product?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 01:38 PM PDT

    Hello,

I am the co-founder of a SASS company. We have got our early customers, I used different Facebook + Reddit groups to get some great BETA users and they really liked the product and they have paid during the BETA phase. Also, it helped us improve our tool a lot and they have been very helpful for developing the tool.

I believe in organic growth and I have not yet invested in any advertisements (Google, Facebook etc). I also developed in house email automation system where we did email scrapping and then did emailing, but I find that it is not very efficient.

So, do you have some other methods where I get some more customers to see the product market fit?

I will give a brief description of the product so that you can give some suggestions to get some new channel of user acquisition.

This is a note taking application. We connect with various online meeting platforms like Google Meet, Zoom, Teams etc and then we use AI/ML to automate the notes with summary, highlights, action items etc. If you want to check our website for more details here it is - ReChord.ai

The product is more for people who are doing lots of call and they can't refer back to the person.

Here are the customer segment I am looking at -

    1. Sales people/Business development professionals
    2. Account managers
    3. Startup founders, having tons of calls
    4. Product managers
    5. Recruiters
    6. Teachers and students having online classes

Here is what I am looking for -

    1. Which organic channel, I can scout for. I have been using various facebook + reddit channels.
    2. Any tools that I can use (LinkedIn scrapping, email scrapping like getemail.io, hunter.io etc)
    3. What are the organic means of growing the business?
    4. What groups I can participate to get some more users?

Also, one suggestion that I am looking for - should I start using paid advertisements at this stage? Or should I go little more with organic means?

Note - There are some Reddit users and they said I am spamming the group. But unfortunately I don't have tons of money to do paid advertisements. So, yes I have been posting on Reddit groups and I really appreciate all the other people who have really supported me with great feedback and suggestions.

Life of an entrepreneur is not a cake walk and I need to go look for various means to growth hack. So, if someone really understands, will appreciate what I am asking for.

University English Class Interview Assignment Help Needed

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 07:12 AM PDT

Hey guys, so I'm a 19-year-old college Freshman in the United States. I live in rural West Virginia and there is not a lot here involving businesses besides Walmarts and the occasional "Mom & Pop" small business you will see on the road every so often.

My English class has assigned an interview to do with someone in your future field about a current issue involving it, such as interviewing a teacher about the low teacher wages that is an issue in my state. As a business major, this had both a positive and a negative. The obvious issue for me to discuss would be COVID even though most are likely sick from hearing about it. Regardless, it has had a huge effect on business owners, so it's a no-brainer.

The negative is that there is no one to interview in rural West Virginia. Businesses are rare and I do not know anyone remotely involved in the field. I reach out to Reddit asking if there is anyone who would be willing to conduct an interview with me. This could be over email, phone, or a video call. I would be like extremely grateful for an interview with anyone, regardless of your position in the field. Please help a lowly business student out. Thank you
