Peter Shiff and Euro Pacific Bank

    Posted: 31 Oct 2020 01:22 AM PDT

I wonder what your thoughts are about the story of Euro Pacific Bank. For some years I have been following this bank and they have had a OK track record. I would not say that this is a bank you can trust in regards to credibility, but you can trust them with your money.

A few friends of mine have had a bank account there for years, high fess and some delays was the only thing they have discussed, they never claimed any fraud. Now I read the trouble with Peter Shiff and his bank https://isportswire.com/dsw/peter-schiffs-bank-service-to-criminals-as-per-the-tax-probe-isportswire-10100885 and wonder how real is this story and will he ever get out of the trouble or is this the end for EPB? I mean, how can someone argue against what the authorities say.

Can a CEO work in a regular POE?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 10:39 PM PDT

Can a CEO of let's say McDonald's go and work at their local store? They'd be under someone's management, yet be the highest standing person in the company... Could they get fired? If so could they simply just say "No"?

I happen to have a business proposal for a big entertainment company regarding expansion. But I have only the idea, I can form strategy if given time. But I am afraid of rejection or even more that they deploy my idea and just pay me off or even don't pay me.

I think that I need to bring some skills to the table. I need time to aquire those skills. So what should I do?

Wait Or tell them that I can work for them for free. I have no problem working for 3-4 months without pay.

Please tell me if I can contact you. I am a newbie and I need to learn how to approach and what papers etc. to form.(if any)

New business taxes and depriciation while employed

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 06:24 PM PDT

Ever read so much on the internet that you're more confused than when you started?

Lets say someone forms an LLC in october. They intend to start a dump truck business and purchase a $50,000 truck in november / december. After repairs and advertising etc they have lots of cost but don't start earning income with the truck until the next year

This person makes 100k at his job and has a personal income tax bill of 15,000.

Is this business owner with a pass through llc allowed to depreciate or deduct any of these assets and cost in any way that would reduce his/her overall tax burden for the year? If income/profit is earned before the end of the year does that change anything?

I honestly dont know if this is an overloaded question but interested in the answers.

    Thanks

Running conferences under COVID, what has changed? How have they adapted?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 01:22 PM PDT

From what I've seen most of the conferences have moved to "Virtual" due to the restrictions of in-person.

If you had to host a conference in 2021 with the shadow of 2020 COVID looming over you, what would you do? How would you try to not only market it but also retain attendees?

I am looking for a lead management tool

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 09:20 AM PDT

I am on the lookout of a lead management tool that will let me add and manage leads from different sources.

I work for a startup that deals in PowerPoint templates. We basically cater to business professionals. I am responsible for reaching out to relevant writers and journalists that write about business productivity, business communication etc. so that I can build some relationships.

These writers (let's call them leads) can be found through various sources. I may search for an article on a particular topic and then note down who wrote it. Or I may simply search on LinkedIn.

So, I am looking for a tool that will help me integrate all my leads from different sources i.e, linkedIn,Google search and others. I want them to appear in a single list, from which I can decide who gets an email and who doesn't. It would be great if the tool has some automated feature to send follow-up mails as most of my emails are cold emails and follow-ups are essential.

Sometimes, I may not have a lead's email ID. In that case I will have to contact them through LinkedIn inmail. So, it would be great if I could control that as well. A tool that is integrated with sales navigator or something similar?

I know it's a lot to ask. I understand that it may not be possible to find a tool that is inclusive of all the aforementioned features. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Advice on funding small business idea?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 07:56 AM PDT

I've got tons of ideas for little app functionalities that I'd like to create. I've never started a business or anything like that before. Is there any simple routine or advice to begin with for having an idea for an app, polishing the idea so that it's presentable and attractive to people, planning the requirements for creating it, securing a bit of funding, and then actually building it? I.e., should I apply for a small business loan from a bank, or just go straight to Kickstarter, or what? Is there a good little book from an authoritative source on general good practice in trying to launch a small product? Thanks very much!

Advice for creating a music award show?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 10:31 AM PDT

So i've had a few ideas floating around for a while for what I want to strive towards doing after I graduate university in June/July and one of my ideas is an award show.

However, i'm not entirely sure where to start in terms of finding people to help me out (covid isn't helping) let alone anything else as I want to aim quite high for this first show.

I have ideas for themes, awards and performers, but its building a reliable and like-minded team to help bring my concept to life

Does anyone have advice for getting started?

What exactly happens to debt in an LLC?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 04:19 AM PDT

I can't find a clear answer for this. Can someone ELI5 me about which debt an owner would be liable for, and which debt they would not be liable for in a bankruptcy? In what context does an LLC reduce risk for an investor, and in what context does it increase it?
