Potential business partner flakes on me twice, what should I do Posted: 04 Sep 2020 01:58 AM PDT So I run a sports theme Instagram page with 36.9k followers. On Saturday I got a message from a bigger page (260k) that literally does the same thing as I do, but his figured out a way to make his a legit business. He offers to have a zoom meeting with me for a potential business partnership. We agree for Wednesday, Wednesday comes and I hear nothing from him, so yesterday I messaged him saying I never heard back from him. He tells me his had a lot of meetings, but he can do 11am on Friday (currently 10:50am) here and we are in the same time zone as well. Again I haven't heard anything from him. He was supposed to send me a zoom link. I won't message him about it, but if he messages me again I plan on saying: "Hey man, I'll be honest with you, this has happened twice now and it seems like you don't have any respect for my time, I understand your busy, but I think in forming a partnership with someone you would at least communicate these type of things to the person, business starts with good communication." I'm not sure if I should say that. Im heavy on respect and what his done is disrespectful. My question is should I not say that? Because it really is a good opportunity, but I don't want my ego to get in the way. I don't know how these work in the real world. Thank you. [link] [comments] |

I Left My Job to Build a B2B Online Marketplace. What to Focus on and What to Delegate? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 01:39 AM PDT Hi all, I need your advice in identifying the most important thing or two of my business to focus all my energy in tackling as I start. There are so many aspects like technical, sales, marketing, accounting, recruitment, legal work, etc.1- What tasks I must do myself, as a founder/owner, and shouldn't depend on others to do them? 2- What tasks I should hire others to do? 3- What tasks I can outsource, at least in the first year or two? My current plan: Year 2: I will be basically doing all other things on my own (e.g. marketing, selling, etc). Year 5: Growth. The main reason for posting this is I don't to spread myself thin and waste my time and energy in the minor stuff. Please enlighten me! [link] [comments] |

Is being an exempt employee a rip off? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 08:19 PM PDT If someone is an employee and works around 50-60 hours per day, why the hell do scumbag employers try to only pay salary even though that person should receive around 10-20 hours of pay per week extra? I'm just completely appalled, when those scumbags make so much money, why are so many of these morons trying to force us employees to do stuff for free? I'm sorry for rant... [link] [comments] |
Should I sell my car to start a business Posted: 03 Sep 2020 03:56 PM PDT I am a Ugandan, living in Uganda.During these COVID19 times, a lot of what we worked for has been affected, mainly because of the unsavoury business decisions by the government, as well as a poor economic climate. All my business undertakings are losing money. The business that seems to be surviving through these tough times is in the food industry. I'm thinking of selling my car so that I may start a barbecue grill, with hopes of replacing it later. Should I go ahead? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:36 PM PDT I think many places sort of confuse or merge these two roles so hoping for someone who can provide insight when there's clear distinction. I'm aware data analysts mainly focus on analyzing data. But I know data analysts who also make recommendations and are involved in decision-making too, which makes it a little confusing as to how it's really different from business analytics then. (Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this but hoping some professionals in business analytics here can help!) [link] [comments] |

How to start a travel agency from scratch? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 10:02 AM PDT Hi, I don't know if it's a good place to ask the question, but I searched everywhere on reddit and there is no subreddit related to travel agency. Let's start... I have a very cool concept for a travel agency that doesn't exist anywhere, but I don't know how to to make it a reality. I'm trying to find information online, but there isn't that much about what software to use for the website and how all the backend stuffs works. I'm alone working on my project and it's very hard because I have no experience in creating business. Here are some questions I have :
Thank you very much for your help. [link] [comments] |

Looking for self help/business/non-fiction audio book pals and recommendations! Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:32 AM PDT Hey all, I've been getting back into my audiobook collection and realized I still have a million to go! Mostly books in the self help/non fiction/business categories. Titles like "Atomic Habits", "Rare Breed", "Tools of Titans", "Ultralearning", etc. If you have any recommendations i would greatly appreciate it. Even if you think it's popular and i've probably read it... i may not have. Anyone else who may be interested in listening to these books and chatting about them, definitely let me know. Posted: 03 Sep 2020 06:51 AM PDT I recently got the idea that I want to be a video editor/graphic designer. I don't have any college degrees or certificates or anything in terms of education on those two things. But I do have some experience as I've made videos for my work, one of which recently got sent into a national convention. But I was wanting to try and become a freelance video editor and graphic designer as a side job until I can decide whether or not it'll be a sustainable income for em. Is this a bad idea or should I go for it? [link] [comments] |
