Q3 The walt Disney company Income statement Analysis and Questions

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 07:31 PM PDT

Hi Guys, I am doing a review of the incomestatement of The walt disney company and i came across something i jkust couldn't understand. That is why i am creating this post as i would like to understand from you guys what this would be exactly.

    So my question is:

I was analysing their cost/income to figure out how it was possible for them to make a profit in a time when all their parks were closed and came across the following:

As you can se they had a Pre-tax loss of 4,840 from their operating activities but then when i go down i see the Resturcuting and Impairment charges, which have a added benefit of 5,047 resulting into the company actually making a profit this quarter. I know that these cost as usually a write of for goodwill but in this case it actually was added, my main question is:

Why does the company do this? Will this effect the future EPS of the company? If yes how long is this usually spread over on the income statements?

You can find this on page: 12
Footnote regarding this: Charges in the current quarter were due to goodwill and intangible asset impairments ($4,953 million) and severance and contract termination costs related to the acquisition and integration of TFCF ($94 million). Charges in the prioryear quarter included severance costs related to the acquisition and integration of TFCF and an acceleration of equity based compensation, primarily for TFCF awards that vested upon closing the acquisition

Has Bang & Olufsen (B&O) Lost Their Beat?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 05:51 AM PDT

A financial analysis of B&O's struggles which has resulted in the luxury Danish consumer electronics company's share price plummeting by 80% over the past 18 months. This is my first draft of the technical analysis which looks at the firm's fortunes from an operational performance level and identifies any potential sources of value creation. I broke down the analysis granularly and compared it with the performance of Sonos (Nasdaq: SONO) whose stock nearly rose by 110% from 18th March price of USD 6.97 (25/08/2020: USD13.79).

I would appreciate any feedback from you. Hope you enjoy the read and analysis.
