Please use this thread to have discussions which you don't feel warrant a new post to the sub. While the Rules for posting questions on the basics of personal finance/investing topics are relaxed a little bit here, the rules against memes/spam/self-promotion/excessive rudeness/politics still apply!

Have a look at the FAQ for this subreddit before posting to see if your question is frequently asked.

Since this post does tend to get busy, consider sorting the comments by "new" (instead of "best" or "top") to see the newest posts.

Changes to strategy as WR gets lower?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:55 AM PDT

As one saves further and further beyond the 4% safe withdrawal rate, are there things about asset allocation or overall strategy that should change?

My personal WR is quickly approaching 2.5% and I'm wondering if starting to research things like how endowments work is worth my time.

Perhaps counter-intuitively, having such a low WR means I should have MORE bonds? I'm not sure.
