Best way to promote a book?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 04:57 PM PDT

My friend and I decided to be productive and write a book during quarantine. It's a book of puzzles/riddles targeted at adults! It's about to be published, and we're responsible for handling all marketing. My first idea to promote it was to start a podcast where we invite contestants and make a gameshow out of solving the riddles; obviously using it to plug the book. Great, but now we also have to promote that too. At this point, I'm treating it more like a startup/brand. Does anyone have specific tips for success promoting their book? My background is advertising/marketing, so feel free to get technical with paid ad details etc. Thank you!

Facebook deleted 43% of my reviews from customers in 4 months (155 to 88) - says it's "a known issue"...

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 08:21 AM PDT

I had 155 customer reviews for my business in march, developed through dedicated contact with my customers over 4 years. THen i noticed that it was down to 140, and even though i wrote Facebook, it steadily declined every few days. This morning it was down to 88, that's 43% less. My average score used to be 4,7 - now it's 4,3....

Having a business means living off of reviews, so Facebook is directly hurting my business.

I get this same answer every time i write: " I truly do apologize for the inconvenience for this continued issue you are having by your Page Missing reviews has caused, and i do understand how utterly important this is for you and that your anxious to know the status of our appeal.

At this time the known issue regarding the error you're getting on your end that is still ongoing and our Network Engineers are all engaged and are working fully to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

We truly appreciate your continued patience on this matter and as we work on your concern. And I will continue to work on this for you. And will provide you an update once the review and the issue has been concluded. "

Business Funding: I am a manager at a business finance firm. I want to help companies get working capital to grow in a tough time. I can do MCA loans, bridge loans, line of credit, credit rebuilding programs, term loans, EIDL, and equipment finance.

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 07:38 PM PDT

    Good afternoon,

I am not here to waste time, I am not here to be shady or sketchy. My clients don't pick me; I pick them. Your dealing with someone with 15 years experience so don't give me the run around please. Your getting major league veteran advice, not single A experience.

MCA program consists of either daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly payments. NO START UPS, need to be in business for at least a year doing a minimum 10k month in revenue. Unsecured capital is money you can do spend anyway you like on your business. All I need is last 4 months of business bank statements, fill out an application I can email or do over the phone, and I can hit you with an offer and it DOESNT COST YOU A DIME UNLESS THE DEAL GETS FUNDED!! Need credit 500 or more

Term loans I can get rates just as good as the bank if not better. Need 700 plus credit and you can get years loan with barely any interest.

Lines of credit, we can get you a huge line of credit as long at the last 4-6 months of bank statements are solid.

One of the most popular programs is the CREDIT building program. My company has a team of people who will diagnose your credit score, can make credit go up 30-50 points and another way of disputing inquiries boosting credit hundreds of points.

    EIDL:

I can apply for you as long as I have EIN, revenue, year started, total cost of goods, year started. This is a no payment for the first 12 months with a fixed 3.75APR over a 30 year term but if all paid in the year then there are no penalty's or interest

Again judge me, hate me, there are companies out there who will not survive this covid, I am offering funding where I give you a fighting chance.

Please message me if you are interested.

    I'm getting frustrated I can't think of something. (16 f)

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 01:36 PM PDT

Before anyone says I'm too young to be worried about these things, yes, I know I am young. I'm young and determined to get started NOW. I've been wanting to have my own business for about 2 years now, but I actually want to start taking action now. My problem is I can't think of a niche or market which I can create things and sell them without it being to oversaturated, and I can't think of a way to stand out in those oversaturated market either. Even the ideas I have written down are being done by a lot of people in many different ways.

I don't have any special talents or passions, well except for wanting to start a business. How did any of you think of your business ideas? Have any of you made a profit in an oversaturated market? If you're curious as to what ideas I've written down that could be so overdone, it's mostly beauty/accessory items that are handmade! My ultimate goal is to have many sources of income, with one primary one.

Do we need a Separate Business License for this part of our Operation?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 05:20 PM PDT

Hi Reddit - We run an operation in Los Angeles where we buy and sell used items. We have a business license in Los Angeles, a store and a warehouse.

Additionally, we plan to employ couriers in NYC to pickup the same items, pay customers and ship these items to us in LA. We do not have any business license in New York.

Do we need a business license to employ couriers in NYC? If so, what kind of license is needed and how do we go about obtaining it?

Thank you very much! Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

    Fragmented Industries

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 04:26 PM PDT

What are some of the most fragmented industries around today? Looking at various REITs and how they're reacting to increasingly distressed assets, especially in industries where there are no big, central players.

A clear example in my opinion would be the restaurant industry in the US (not fast-food), along with data centers. Any other interesting ones?

For Finance and Business, is it better to get a BA in finance or a MBA?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 03:46 PM PDT

    Hi everyone,

Rising sophomore thinking of doing a double major in business (currently majoring in information science), would you say it is better to do a finance major (Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management) in undergrad or wait until I graduate to study business during an MBA.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Small business set up advice please!

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 03:14 PM PDT

My girlfriend and I are starting up a business making incense, macrame plant holders, jewelry, etc.

We are trying to figure how and when we should file as a business. Would we want an LLC or would that before a different type of business?

Just trying to make it as legit as possible so we don't get screwed for taxes at the end of the year. Or possibly get sued for something.

Seeking Business Advice: How do I manage multiple SKUs?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 07:33 AM PDT

I started making waterproof Laptop covers at an affordable price.

The first SKU, I started with was for 15.6-inch screen laptops, transparent-unisex color.

After selling 1200 units of it in 6 months and listening to customer demand for a 14-inch version and 17inch version, I made a small batch production of them. 150 units each. All got sold in 2 months.

Now, I am getting demand (customer inquiries = demand?) for making covers for iPad, phones, other tablets. Plus occasional inquiries for colors.

    Question:

    • How do I manage/forecast the numbers for each SKU?
    • How do I manage cash flow?
    • How many SKUs should I go ahead with?

Every business show (like Shark Tank, The profit, etc), advises on keeping SKUs to a low number. How do I make a logical data-driven decision?

Happy to get some practical advice and also willing to study books on this subject. Please suggest.
