Pushing the Democratization of Machine Learning Posted: 02 Jul 2020 02:54 AM PDT Help others to get started with Machine Learning. To democratize the organizational use especially for those with little data, I have set up a survey to gain insights on the training of Machine Learning models on external data. https://www.surveyhero.com/s/external_data_sources_ML But I need YOUR help (if you are training Machine Learning models on external data for organizational use). The survey takes 5 to 10 minutes, is completely anonymous and its outcome will be shared to everyone who participates is able to benefit of the collaborative effort. The survey is part of my Master Thesis on Machine Learning for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. I am thankful for everyone who is willing to invest a little of their time to enable others to have piece of the Machine Learning pie as well. I am hoping to have found a research-interested community among the business-Redditors. Have a great day and thank you for your support [link] [comments] |

How can I sell my ideas to companies Posted: 01 Jul 2020 09:32 PM PDT Hello Ever since I was 8 I have been designing, making and thinking of ideas for companies. As far as I ever got was my idea almost being put into a car just before the car company went out of business. Would anyone know how to get into contact with people in the I would need to talk to? I have tried LinkedIn but have not gotten far, the furthest I have ever got was from connections. ______________________________ (the companies I am interested in as a side note) - if anyone happens to know or word for :) -MasterFoods (design of packaging) -Richard Mille/ Rolex (or something similar) (marketing stunt) -Any organisation with the aim of reducing drink driving - Instagram (feature) -Twitter (feature) -Sony or Microsoft (for the Play Station and Xbox) (hardware design) Thanks [link] [comments] |

Filing for EIDL Grant, don't want loan. Independent Contractor Posted: 01 Jul 2020 05:29 PM PDT I am an opera singer (at least I was in the before time, no idea what I am going to do for a living when this is over). Most large companies in the US offer artists the choice to be paid as employees or contractors. When I sing outside my metro area, I go with IC so I can write everything off more simply. My union sent out the following email: "Dear AGMA Artists: In case you missed AGMA's social media or website announcements last week, on June 15, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) reopened its Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) grant and loan program. If you recall, the first time the SBA announced this opportunity it quickly stopped accepting applications in April due to the overwhelming amount they received. For now, applications are once again being considered. Independent contractors, freelancers, and gig performers can apply to receive a $1,000 grant. These grants never need to be repaid. Loans for favorable terms from the SBA, which would need to be repaid, are also available. To apply for the grant, please fill out this SBA form. This article from Forbes provides great information and tips on filling out the form." I could really use a $1,000 grant, so applied. I followed the instructions listed in the Forbes article, one of which was to check the desire for the up to 10K in grant. Today I received confirmation of my application and I am eligible for 13, 100...though this number is not guaranteed. As I mentioned in the title I don;t want a loan, just that grant. If I go forward with this how do I be sure I don't get a loan as well? [link] [comments] |

NZ overpriced skiing highlights business short-siigthedness Posted: 01 Jul 2020 11:41 PM PDT The corona virus has destroyed NZ's skiing this winter as the resorts depend on tourists to survive, mainly from Australia but also all over the world, and now they're trying to encourage kiwis to ski - but there's no reason for us to do so. Most kiwis don't ski (around 2-3%) as it's far too expensive, at around $120 for a single day ski pass - I think the most expensive in the world. I suggested that they halve their price or even more, and you would get a huge boost in locals skiing, but they ignored my idea. As a ski instructor, I know places in Europe that offered season passes for as little as $100 and they had the best turn out ever, and made record profits. Sadly the nz ski industry can't see the benefits of this. Check out the price here: [link] [comments] |
I’m looking for advice on buying a small lot Posted: 01 Jul 2020 11:22 PM PDT Hey business people, I'm looking to start a used car business (yeah the sleaziest most disgusting business practice). I'm 25 and I'm looking to provide my Connecticut community with reliable used cars after I fix them up. I have 70 grand saved up. I'm needing advice on looking for a small lot to purchase as a business location. I can't run this out of my home garage in Connecticut without getting fined heavily and possibly sent to jail even for just 1 car I fix up and sell. I would also appreciate advice on where to get a $50,000 bond required by my state for customer protection. I have to ask as well what the smallest lot possible in a cheaper area should cost (ballpark I know they widely vary). Thank you so much to anyone who gives me advice, this is both my passion of art and dream of freedom. [link] [comments] |

Who really buys expensive online marketing course about making money? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 07:20 AM PDT Greetings ladies and gentlemen Recently Ive been interested in affiliate marketing, and Im planning in promote high ticket marketing courses, supposedly to people who wants to create businesses and create money. The thing that ticked into my mind was, why would someone who is desperate in making money and pay such high prices for a marketing/business course? Im asking this question since I'm trying to figure out who to target, cause the line between people who want to make money but dont have money at all and people with big starting budget is kinda hard to distinguish. Thanks EDIT: Im thinking of dismissing the idea completely. It seems to be ethically wrong to indirectly support the idea of taking advantage of vulnerable people. [link] [comments] |
Was not buying Netflix when it had a chance really a bad move? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 08:43 AM PDT Blockbuster was approached by Netflix to be bought for $50 million, but they refused the offer. I always see people refer to this being a big mistake and how Blockbuster missed out on a $33 billion company, but is it really a good example? If Blockbuster had have bought it at the time, would have it been as successful? I would love to hear everyone's thoughts! [link] [comments] |
