Who does the Facebook advertising boycott help besides Google?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 03:54 AM PDT

Saw this morning that Starbucks was pulling their advertising from Facebook and Twitter but will continue to use YouTube.

Same with Coke, Hershey and Levi to name a few. I am curious on who this helps the most besides Google?

Disney World opening on July 9 and 10 for preview of parks for annual passholders

Based on preview I don't think they will be delaying their plan to reopen Disney World even though there is an uptick in Covid-19 cases.

    Dividend momentum strategy

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:38 AM PDT

    Hi all

A while ago i read an article about the benefits of dividend momentum strategy and i decided to follow the same.

I took the holdings list of NOBL dividend aristocrats ETF and MTUM momentum ETF. Imported them to excel and sorted out with vlookup formula, to find stocks that are the same in both of those ETF-s.

Here is the outcome: ABBV; CLX; HRL; JNJ; SPGI; TGT

Portfolio visualizer gives very nice performance over time for this. And i will add some these stocks to my shopping list. The plan is to go with equal balance. 16-17% each.
Hope, that is useful for someone.

All this positive media around AMD but the stock dwindled by 7% last week

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 04:04 AM PDT

I'm a typical noob wannabe day trader who's trying to make a few bucks on the side.

I've been monitoring AMD's stock for the past ~6 months now, reading articles, following all news etc. Currently everything out there about AMD is says that AMD is amazing because of this and that...

The stock has been in consolidation for quite a while now and it ended up dipping last week by 7%. How and why? This doesn't make any sense to me. According to all the news out there, AMD should be flying with a rocket strapped to it's ass.

Can anyone explain what i'm missing here?

PSA: Take Level 2 data with a grain of salt

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 10:24 AM PDT

Institutional investors and large private investors know that retail investors have access to Level 2 data and will create phantom orders to manipulate the market picture. Placing large Sell orders above the current Ask creates an image of heavy resistance and allows accumulation with multiple smaller Buy orders placed sequentially to enter a position (and vice versa when closing a position). This gives them a slight edge and opportunity to increase profitability on both ends of a position.

Basically, take Level 2 data with a grain of salt 🧂

Let’s talk about the company werk hourse and why they deserve the same valuation as NKLA or more

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 01:08 PM PDT

Trying to get around the auto mod because this company is labeled a "bad word" stock here.

The company has been traded up to 14 bucks today.

The float has been rolled many times, and in fact the entire float was traded today and then some.

Strong support is being built at each 1 to 2 dollar leg up.

They have 2 production facilities, 2 approved commercial ev's, orders from UPS over the past several years and a shot at a large usps contract in part or whole. Add to that last quarter they turned a profit.

Now NKLA has none of that. In fact I think all they have is good marketing for their stock sale. Yet the market christened them with a 23 Billion valuation.

Why wouldn't wurk h0r$e be valued at that as well, if not more?

Oh and patents. These boys have patented a lot of their ev tech.

Please don't delete. This is a serious stock that has been in serious play.

    T-Mobile Rights offering

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:02 PM PDT

I own a few shares of T-Mobile ($TMUS). A few days ago, T-Mobile announced a stock rights offering to customers. At the same time, the stock ticker TMUSR showed up in my portfolio. When I click on it, TMUSR indicates that it is "rights" to purchasing TMobile stock in this offering. Currently, TMUSR has a listed price of $0.215 but a "cost" of $7.56.

Can someone explain this to me. I'm assuming I was granted the rights as a shareholder (the number of rights is the same as the number of shares I had at the time the announcement was made). It also appears these rights have value and could be sold. The rights expire sometime in late July (according to what I've read), so I assume if I do nothing, this will just disappear and I will have lost any value they've had.

How do I exercise the rights if I want to do so? And if I don't, should I just sell them? Will I receive a tax statement indicating that I was given the rights at a price of $7.56 per share? If I want to exercise the rights, what is my cost per share and how is it different than the regular cost per share of T-Mobile?

Stock market history question. How different is the stock market when there is a democratic president?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 02:44 PM PDT

I always hear remarks when people discuss the stock market and a democratic president. I wasn't trading during the Clinton or Obama terms. Overall how different is the stock market with a democratic president?

    Thank you in advance.

($TMUS) T-Mobile issued some kind of untradeable thing in my Schwab account - TMUSR: T-Mobile US INC 20 RTSRI (worth $0.24 each)

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:01 AM PDT

Does anyone know what this is? It's not a normal dividend and I can't actually click on it or trade it. I have 500 shares of TMUS so it gave me 500 of these 24 cent "RTSRI" things and google isn't helping me figure out what that stands for at all. I'll ask support and will update here but figured I'd see if anyone else had a good idea of what it was.

I know Softbank is selling $21B of their shares, but I don't think it's related to that.

Edit: It does seem that this is related to the SoftBank $21B share sell-off and TMUS owners are able to buy shares at $103 per share, these "baby" shares supposedly represent .05 of a share each, or the right to purchase TMUS shares at $103 at .05 shares at a time. It's all a bit confusing and I don't think the Shwab rep even fully understood what they were telling me so if anyone has any other info I'd appreciate hearing it!

I was able to buy more of these share representations and I may buy a bit more if the cost keeps going down. I think each one purchased though is a requirement to pay $103 per share that I'd want to buy so I can really only put less than what. currently have to use, but keeping the right to sell these baby shares may go up in value as people will pay over a dollar per if it means they get over a dollar discount of TMUS per.

TL;DR: Each of these shares represents the right to buy .05 of a share of TMUS @$103 per share (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Terms are not yet settled so they cannot yet be exercised, but you can buy/sell these fractional share representations are they are for around 20 cents per now as I type this.

What are your guy's thoughts on this stock? I haven't done much DD on and it's having a steady run up the past 5 days. They recently got a deal with infernoAR but I'm wondering if it's worth jumping into. I've been watching this since it was at 1.5 and now it's at 4.10. I don't want FOMO to get the best of me as well.

Is this an actual style of investing?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2020 01:40 PM PDT

I enjoy researching and buying stocks but because I am emotional and watch it all day, I want to have an exit plan and I like the thought of not holding for a long time (up to 12 a year). I'm using WealthSimple (free trades) so my peanut sized portfolio isn't being impacted by fees. I'm thinking that I could buy shares and put a limit sell order and leave it. If it hits, I win a little. if it doesn't, I'll just hold longer or lose eventually on that particular stock. Are short term holdings a thing? I'm not referring to day trading but a goal would be to build a portfolio big enough where I'd sell all shares of a stock automatically should it hit the limit and have enough holdings so a sale might happen every 1-2 weeks. I'd want the stock to increase by $1 even and sell 100 shares at that point, profiting $100. If there are issues with this idea, please let me know what they are. This sounds reasonable but perhaps I don't know any better. Thank you.

Advice For A Teen Investing In Stocks?

I recently started investing in the stock market. As a newbie and very young in age what should I do to have the best possible start?
