How does your sales job handle cancelations? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 05:54 AM PDT My company offers 5 years financing for their product and if the client stops paying or cancels it at any given point, we get chargeback the full comission from future paychecks. So I could have a full comission chargeback of a big sale in 2017 if the client purchases and payed it for 3 years but then stopped paying. Then I'd have lets say 1000usd chargeback were they deduct 20% of total quantity of chargebacks every check. Its my first sales job so I dont have anything to compare it to. Is this ordinary? AWS Sales Intern Interview Results question?? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:16 AM PDT I got waitlisted for this position back in February and a while back (like a month ago) they asked me they are done hiring for the summer, but I can continue to be on the waitlist if I wanted to. Interestingly, enough in the second paragraph of the e-mail mentions this " If you would like us to remain in touch with you if a position becomes available this season, please respond back to this email. In addition, we would like to interview you for a full-time role this fall. If interested, we will prioritize your application and offer you an abbreviated interview experience as roles become available. Our team will reach out to you this fall to confirm your interest in Amazon ''. Does anybody know anything in regards to this hiring process or the non technical Tech U Grad program? Out of all the hiring processes I went through Amazon's is definitely the most interesting I went through. Any information in regards to this process or the Tech New U grad program (for non-tech roles?) would be much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Lets talk about calling and quality of sound. Bluetooth headsets and speakers Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:08 AM PDT I do my fair share of calling. Mostly outbound but i am in position where a i get a decent amount of sales calls myself. What irritates me is the horrendous sound quality of some guys calling me. Like they have the cheapest Bluetooth headsets from Aliexpress with zero noice reduction and it is very hard to hear what they are saying. Anyway, my company does not provide standard equipment but we can buy whatever needed and expense it within a $100 budget. So dear friends what do you suggest as 1) Bluetooth headset while driving that will cancel out noise from my car? 2) conference speakerphone for home office that has noise reduction and crystal clear microphone output via Bluetooth? Anxious about going back to sales, need some guidance Posted: 26 Jun 2020 06:22 AM PDT So I'm looking for a new sales role at the moment but I'm feeling rather apprehensive about it. To give some backstory, I graduate university middle of 2019 and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so I looked into sales and I had my first BDE role. Now this job I took on for 8 months was a lot of cold calling for our procurement platform which I didn't particularly believe was a good product, the company itself had been struggling and always seemed like the parent company had a close eye on use as the division was underperforming. I didn't like the role at all as I found it incredibly tedious just cold calling all day long with nothing inbound and I guess this is the reason I only did one deal in 8 months. I'm very confident on the phone, perhaps more so than others that had been there for a while which I think is why I was kept on for so long. Fast forward to coronavirus I was on an extended probation period and was running out of time to prove myself at this job but I didn't really care to make much more of an effort because I really disliked the company as a whole and the management and training was vertically invisible. So now I'm still living at home and just time is passing by and I'm not completely motivated to find a new sales role but I also know that I can't sit around and do nothing and it's the only thing I know about so I should just keep looking for those sort of roles. I'm now looking to go back into sales roles but I'm worried about only being able to get similar roles which is heavy cold calling. I'm just looking for some guidance as I'm really at a loss as I'm not sure what I really want to do as my career. I'm fairly confident that because of my confidence on the phone and the way I speak I could be good in sales but I'm just struggling for motivation because of my bad first experience. Any guidance would be great thanks [link] [comments] |
Very high turnover in payroll sales is this normal? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 12:54 PM PDT I'm in payroll sales and started out the year with 7 people on my team including me. It's now the end of fiscal and we have 3 people standing (including me). Everyone else has left! Is this what you all are seeing or is my company having especially high turnover? Also does this go to show how bad my manager is and look poorly on her? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 12:49 PM PDT A recruiter contacted me today and explained how the job worked and a little about company culture. They sent me a link to a Wiesen exam and interview to complete next. He mentioned paid training in Chicago for the first 6 months. My question is: How is the Chicago training? Do they house you or do you find your own housing? Any information on the goings-on would be helpful. My husband and I are trying to plan on what to do if I make it that far in the interview process. How have you used video for the purpose of qualifying sales leads? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 11:50 AM PDT Question speaks for itself but I'm in the process of evaluating a video hosting/streaming platform for sales enablement content and sales lead-qualifying content. I was wondering if anyone here could share their experiences using video not just to generate those sales leads, but also to qualify them. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 11:46 AM PDT Hey guys I web scraper and I'm scraping websites. The problem I have is whom to sell that data. Can anyone help me and give me some advice. Who I should sell specific data. Who are companies or businesses who buys scraped data. For example, I know that call centers are buying phone numbers (phone books) so they can call people and see products. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:49 AM PDT Hey guys, I have been an outbound BDR for 2 years. I was up for promotion this month. However, the company over hired and the segment that my market was supposed to serve got gutted. I'm consistently near the top of the leaderboard. However, to be honest I am seriously burned out and don't know how long I can keep this up. The job pays ok but I'm not learning shit. Should I start looking for a new job? How the fuck do I get over the "no closing experience" hurdle? Also I'm 27 years old and I feel like I'm falling behind. [link] [comments] |
Best Half year in a while and earning the right to ask for the contracts Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:18 PM PDT I've been waiting to post this till the contracts came in. Now that the deals are closed I wanted to share. I've been in ERP sales for 24 years. I'Ve Sold through 9/11 and now the Coronavirus. This first half of 2020 has been good to me and it was because of deep relationship I forged early and quickly. This gives a rep the ability to ask for the order because they have earned it One of my deals was ready to sign end of March. Then due to Covid they got cold feet and understandably put the project on hold. I took the CEO on a customer site visit in Feb. I was able to forge a direct relationship with him. As the world was crumbling I convinced him to put 20% down to hold the pricing. At the time it was huge because no-one knew the extent. They could of walked away but I put myself in a position to ask for the $$. They said they were going to hold the project till the fall. We had project kickoff earlier this month. The second deal was just under a million. That closed yesterday. We spent countless hours with the stakeholders. I had contracts in front of them in Jan. We had a round of negotiations in February. Their CEO expected a ridiculous discounts. During this time I stopped even speaking to them. We had won the deal so I was negotiating against myself. It took courage and to walk away. When we restarted the negotiations I had more power because I stood my ground. I also earned the right to stop because we had built trust and value. Sales is strange game. I wouldn't have thought that things would have turned out this way. The moral of the story is : After you build trust, credibility, honesty, and value, you earn the right to ask the customer for the deal or for something you need. It creates a trusted advisor role and makes them peers instead. ABC.... [link] [comments] |

Strategies for follow up on email marketing campaign Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:11 AM PDT Hi all. I work for a niche life science service provider. Since COVID-19 hit, we've been trying to increase business by conducting marketing campaigns via Mail Chimp. ~24 hours after email has been sent out, we get notifications in SalesForce on who opened the email, how many times, and what links they've clicked. Now, we've all tried to follow up with these leads via email, but response rates have been atrocious. I've tried sending highly personalized emails, blanket emails - it doesn't seem to matter, the leads still don't engage. I've also tried contacting leads on LinkedIn - no bites. Is there anything else I can do to follow up? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2020 06:12 PM PDT First meeting with a prospect I was cold-calling on today. Since it was the first meeting I was going to run my manager game along. I talked for about 5 minutes when I realized I sounded totally shaky. My boss stepped in and handled the rest of the meeting flawlessly. I'm a 22 recent college grad and this is my first sales job. I feel as if my biggest struggle is being able to talk about our services fluently in a conversation to keep the flow going. We are a PEO, our services include complex things like Healthcare, worker's compensation, and a HR IS system. How long did it take you to be fluent in you product knowledge? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 06:49 AM PDT This is the biggest problem if you're selling a more complex B2B product. Let's say that you sell marketing consulting/marketing strategy, with a focus on FinTech startups.Marketing by itself is a very, very broad field. By "marketer", you could assume one does digital marketing, but you can also assume that he/she does advertising creative briefing. Marketer can also be a person who's in charge of brand strategy. Marketing strategy can be a solution to dozens of different problems. When I reach out to prospects, my goal is to probe their problems, and if there's a fit, offer to help them. The problem is, once I reach out, their reaction is almost instinctive - uh.. uhmmm... we already have a marketing guy who does all <insert marketing type activity> for us, NOT INTERESTED, NOT INTERESTED!As if I threw a bomb at their feet. I don't even get to learn about them or their problems. I don't reach out cold, I make sure there are relevant trigger events that might indicate a need for this, such as them moving into a new market location. And when I reach out, I don't expect to sell them on a spot. I always assume that they aren't in the buying mode today, but I'm here to start a relationship. My goal is to make them aware of my existence, build rapport with them, learn about their problems and goals, and nurture them over the long term if that problem becomes a top priority for them. How do you overcome this obstacle? [link] [comments] |
Has your Q2 target/quota changed because of Covid? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 05:51 AM PDT My company is having internal discussions right now about whether to retroactively change our team's Q2 target. We've had some people still do ok, but some people's Q2 is absolutely shot. I was just wondering what other people's company's have done, if anything at all? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 04:50 AM PDT Who has problems with their AE's? Little background we aren't aligned with ours but we go off which AE is next and I am currently in the commercial segment. Some AE's will flip opps that are qualified and some will want you to do middle of funnel and the most value. But, when they demo they re disco? Like what... As well the sdrs in other segments who makes more then us can just book time and ae just takes it and runs with it... I would love to know other sdrs/ae experiences? [link] [comments] |
Let’s talk about ourselves for a second Posted: 25 Jun 2020 06:43 PM PDT We get to know out customers but rarely do they reciprocate to the same extent so allow me to ask, how are you doing? What's new in your life? How's the family? Feel free to vent here and let the world know you're more than the guy/gal who shows a demo or sends an order form. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2020 06:45 PM PDT Hi all, So after being inspired by another post on here I was wondering... I was laid off about April due to covid and have been struggling to find a new job since. I think I need to brush up on my interview skills and was curious if anyone had any good resources that you could point me towards? The reason I bring this is up is a career coach reached out to me and wanted to work with me... not for free. I don't know if thats something I should consider, but i've been in enterprise BD and Mid Market sales the last two years so I know i'm qualified for most of these roles. Im just kinda stuck right now. If you have other advice I would be happy to hear it. Im sure im not the only one in this position at the time. Thanks y'all! [link] [comments] |
It seems SaaS is a catch all for everything Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:41 PM PDT I've read a lot of posts. People talking about a SaaS trying to get a SaaS job. All SaaS is, is the way the product is consumed and paid for. It's not a product, it the way a product is deployed and used. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2020 03:36 PM PDT Just like the title states, the current environment has left some room in my portfolio to pick up some products/services. Any advice or direction on possible opportunities would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
