Any here who started an App company without any knowledge about IT? I’d appreciate if you could share how you started it.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:17 PM PDT

My partners and I are planning to make an app very soon. We're coming from different industries (food, agriculture, and construction) and we figured now's really a great time to invest in technology which all of us are not really familiar with.

How did you start the company? Did you partner up with app developers? Did you hire one? We'll definitely appreciate all help we can get 🙂

Cheapest way to create a pro email address?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 04:42 AM PDT

    Hi,

I would like to create a professional contact address (contact[at]companyname[.]com). I don't need to create a website. I just want a pro email linked to my gmail account. What is the best and cheapest way to do it? I've seen OVH's pro email option at 14$ per year, is it good?

    Thanks!

I just dont get it, how do they do it?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 04:03 AM PDT

    Hi,

For some time now I have been wondering how companies do the following without millions of euros of capital? Take, for example, a company that sells online audio equipment for the catering industry. If you look at the web store, you will see an overview of various renowned brands, hundreds of products. I cannot imagine that many of those companies have products in stock themselves. That would be prohibitive for any company, not to mention the cost of keeping inventory. So I would like to know how I can do that too? (How do I start an online store where we can sell all those brands without keeping all those products in stock). I suspect that these companies make a deal with an importer and then buy products on order? I don't know if this is correct. Can someone tell me more about this no one wants to say much about this in my environment and deliberately are unclear about it. If anything is unclear let me know. Thanks in advance for the answers that would help me enormously.

Gaining contracts with medium sized companies

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 12:37 PM PDT

Good morning/afternoon/evening Redditors, wherever you are!

I've been directed to this sub by a helpful pm from a kind individual who saw my post on r/WorkOnline .

Prior to the pandemic, business (Customer Service/Client Services outsourced to my company in India) was going fairly well. All that's now changed, as I've had to make the difficult decision of temporarily laying off my team of staff due to a sharp decline in demand for our clients' products, and consequently, our services.

My previous method for achieving growth was largely down to the healthy availability of contracts for Customer Service/Client Services on freelancing websites (mostly Upwork), which enabled me to scale my business up to a high point of 50 agents. However, as a large number of these contracts were for ad hoc work for small businesses, the number fluctuated substantially throughout the year.

Although I'm hopeful business will pick up again, I'm a little less optimistic on the time it will take for our business to recover back to the pre-pandemic level. I am, therefore, seeking a more stable solution for both my business and my staff and I believe winning contracts with medium sized businesses to be the ideal outcome.

The biggest challenge I'm currently facing is a lack of knowledge in this area - where would I even find out which medium sized entity is looking to outsource its customer service operation? Is there a specific forum or may be a webpage that somebody could point me to pls?

Hope you have a nice rest of the weekend!

How do I promote my business locally without spending a fortune?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 04:49 AM PDT

However unoriginal it may seem, I am considering opening a repair business. I have knowledge on how to repair computers, laptops and phones. It will be a home-based business, with no current plans to open a shop. I have quite a few friends who occasionally have problems with their tech, but this is definitely not enough to keep the business afloat. How do I promote my business locally?

    Business name ideas

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:12 AM PDT

Hello, I'm just about to launch a new courier business delivering for some big name companies. I'm struggling with a business name so was wondering if you guys could help with a good one? We're looking to have a few vans on the road and will eventually be delivering for more and more companies so I'd really like a name I'm proud of.

So far we (me and my business partner) have been thinking something like NW Logistics, although straight to the point I feel it's kinda boring. Can anyone think of something better? We're in the North West of the UK and will be covering this area only.

    Thanks

Looking for a sub on starting a business, or things of that nature.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:40 AM PDT

    Hello!
I was wondering if there was a sub for smart ways to turn money into more money. I have around 10k, and I don't want to blow it. I feel like there is something I can do with it to make it into more money. My dream would be to start a work from home business, but I know this isn't enough.

    Food delivery business

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:22 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

I got my own cafeteria business which is concentrated on making home type of food. Most of my costumer were people from office buildings near my location. Most of the costumers were coming during their break lunch.

Since COVID started I have less and less people coming to my place and currently my business is suffering because many offices around are closed and people simply became hesitant to go and eat in public places.

Hence I decided to start a delivery service as well. My website is almost done. My friend is IT specialist so he made a pretty comfortable and decent website with all our menu inside.

I've never done any type of delivery in my life. I would to ask if you some of you can recommend me books or a YouTube channel which can provide me with useful information and nuances in regards to food delivery service.

    Thanks in advance
