What questions should I ask of a prospective employer? Posted: 31 May 2020 05:41 PM PDT Hey everyone! I connected with someone from a large company that I want to work for on LinkedIn and they offered me a chance to ask them some questions. This is not an interview, just a way for me to get some insight on their company. I want to be prepared so I've come up with some questions, but does anyone else have any other questions that you believe would impress an employer? I'm in the marketing/content creation/advertising/management field. [link] [comments] |
How do rich people hedge against currency devaluation when doing business in other countries? Posted: 31 May 2020 10:20 PM PDT Let say I am doing business in Australia and buy milllions of AUD. I am expecting AUD keeps rising against the dollar, but how could I protect my money from currency devaluation/exchange risk? I guess one is to earn more from the local business. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2020 12:41 PM PDT Whilst daydreaming I thought of a pretty great way to accumulate massive amounts of gold passively in an mmorpg I play without having to bot, or break any of the game's rules (besides the intent of breaking real world trading rules later). Because I won't have to bot or break the game's rules the chances of me getting caught by their detection system is much less likely, unless I get banned for selling gold. Either way there are ways around getting banned (and losing gold in the process), but in the end you're breaking a game's rules and contributing to a problem. Here's the thing though, at the rates large, fairly stable companies are paying for gold, I think it would be possible to bring in $50-$100 or more a day hands free. To be completely honest, I wouldn't think of doing something like this usually, but I'm a young broke college student who wants to take time off and I've always wanted to find some way of creating a small amount of passive, or just remote income so I could take off in a camper van indefinitely and explore the country. You wouldn't need much, less than a grand a month would do the trick, a lot less if you're frugal. Then boom, I thought up a perfectly doable, real way to bring in more than enough to sustain me on my journeys (not to mention the side income this would create). I could basically make this work tomorrow. I guess this is silly but I just wonder what the general response to this idea is, and whether or not people would do it. Would you do it if it seemed very simple and doable to do to you? Or would you have some moral reservations? I guess that it's just because it's kind of hated in the game and thought of as a problem, but that's mostly tied to botting, although real world trading is thought of as a problem too. But really almost everyone is pretty apathetic to it, it doesn't cause any real disturbances to the playing experience that most people are aware of (myself included). It may even lower prices for resources that are farmed too (by bots, not my method). As I said the thing people don't like as much are masses of bots. Obviously it's kind of a taboo thing to do, but when you see an easy opportunity like this, it's hard not to think about. Should I do it? [link] [comments] |

Is there potential of commercialising my market insight report written at university? Posted: 31 May 2020 07:31 AM PDT Hi All, I'm a second year Computer Engineering student, and thinking of writing and Amazon product listing specific product insight report as a project (3-400 hours available to do this). This would make inferences and suggestions from applying deep learning / artificial neural network algorithms to lots of Amazon product listing data. The 'getting the data' part is solved already so no issues there. Without going into great detail (Possible IP and what not), I am confident that what I can provide would be commercially valuable to businesses operating on Amazon and research agencies alike. I am wondering if people could guide me on how to make this happen? 1.a) Do I contact research companies directly and offer for them to publish my work under their name and get royalties on it? 1.b) If yes they would want certain methodologies and accuracy checks to be used, is this something that can be done in 400 hours by a software student? 1.c) Here is an example of a research paper, I could not do 300 pages, but I could certainly provide actionable insights on related areas of e commerce, is it too far fetched to think I could do a smaller version of this? Maybe 300 pages could be done depending how much of it is tables, graphs, and images. Link removed 2) Do I make a research paper and offer it directly to Amazon businesses? 3) Do I make it available for purchase on a third party site that specialises in freelancer research papers? 4) Can any general advice be given? I am totally new to the idea of making a commercial research paper, but think there is a chance I have the tech skills and time to do one. Really appreciate any help that can be offered.
