Firm just announced no promotions on Friday. Now what?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:50 AM PDT

Firm is 3 years to become a senior. The idea of spending 4 years at staff has me real upset. What makes it worse is even if I leave I'll have to do another year as a staff somewhere else.

This fucken sucks. No bonus. No raise. No promotion. Still 1.8k charge hours expected!

The day in the life of an accountant?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 06:56 PM PDT

I know this is broad, but I'm fairly certain I'm gonna go to school for accounting and just want a little insight into the daily life of an accountant. I'm interested in the public, government, or audit areas, so those would be most helpful. Any insight is helpful, thank you if you choose to post anything in advance

Pay? Hours? Workload? Meaningful work? Requirements to get into one?

Entry level jobs outside of public accounting?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:21 AM PDT

Currently I am rising junior majoring in accounting at a large state school. I have a 4.00 gpa and was able to land an internship the summer of my sophomore year as a SEC reporting intern for a large company. I feel the university preaches to students to do public accounting route or die. How hard is to land entry level job as a financial analyst. What other entry level jobs could I pursue outside of public?

    IT Audit Opportunities

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:54 PM PDT

What industries require more IT audit work to be done as part of the audit process? I would assume tech companies would be a part of this group but I'm also retarded so if anyone would like to provide some insight it would be greatly appreciated.

I have 19 that I need to prep by Wednesday the 1st, aka kill me.

I should get 4-5 in today. Maybe more if I don't sleep.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 07:11 AM PDT

Been working at a makeshift setup on the dining room table since March 23rd. At first, wasn't too sure about working from home. Now, if I had a true setup, I would definitely want to stay at home. My company would need to figure out better ways to do tasks without paper though.
