What are your favourite disruptive/futuristic stocks?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:55 AM PDT

Disruptive like Apple was in the early-mid 2000s, disruptive like Tesla is today (I can hear people being triggered already), or disruptive like an uber.

What are your favourites and why? Always interested to hear about other peoples riskier stocks with great upside if they succeed at their disruptive missions!

How is anyone buying cruise stocks right now?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 06:06 AM PDT

I am looking into a few puts, but see some cruises rallying after hours and pre market. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would invest in any cruise company right now. I wouldn't be surprised if all of them go belly up, given no income for a few more months, along with a fraction when they return. It's not like Disney who's diversified...

Someone explain to me why any of these cruise lines are going up?

Why do people still suggest the SP500?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 08:34 AM PDT

    Just wondering?

People suggest to invest every month in the SP500 like VOO because in the long run you get 10% annualized. But why not invest in the NASDAQ instead?

I know it's not as old and not as diversified but if you look at the past return the NASDAQ is up 80% in the last 5 years vs 38% for the SP500.

What am I missing? Why is the SP500 considered a better bet? During the current situation, we saw that tech are doing great. And honestly they are the future.

My question would be why shouldn't I just invest all my savings in the NASDAQ instead of VOO?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 08:21 AM PDT

i'm in 850 shares deep on LUV at 27. don't know what to think anymore. anyone else holding their airlines position? can you offer some sort of guidance on the play here? best to sell, cut losses & reinvest or hold it until the end of the year and see what happens? i thought LUV was one of the best airline but it literally just tanks every single day.

Warren Buffet isn’t cash for no reason

    Posted: 06 May 2020 04:07 AM PDT

Whatever you think of his track record lately, dude isn't holding cash just because. One of the greatest investors to ever live is not going to let a time like this go buy without trying to capitalize, and right now cash is his move.

The stock market has seriously disconnected from reality, we all agree - why do people seem to think that this is sustainable? Eventually there will be a reckoning because stocks can't be propped up on future speculation forever. Timeline is the only thing no one can foresee.

This is why buffet is cash, he's doing it on purpose and he's doing it because he expects it to pay off sooner rather than later.

    Thoughts on Disney

    Posted: 06 May 2020 11:49 AM PDT

What are your opinions on Disney? Overvalued, undervalued? I want to get in for the long term but I don't know if it's a good idea to buy now or wait for a further dip. I understand that their theme parks will take a hit from Corona but Disney+ is still looking good.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Why is NAT down even with DHT earnings yesterday?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 06:53 AM PDT

I would've expected DHT earnings to pull NAT stock up. Am i being impatient? Or is there a reason it has yet to go up?

    $HEAR me out - #1 Videogame Headset

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:32 AM PDT

$HEAR earnings report is out on May 7, after market.

Their revenue in Q4 was $101MM (beating expectations), their Q1 expectations are $30MM. As we all know, the video game industry is super hot right now ($ATVI crushed earnings), and with online play, owning a nice headset is a must. All in all, I expect them to blow that number out.

$11C 5/15 or just buy shares.

Great time to get some calls now, this one is a big time sleeper.

MVIS bottom is higher than we think

    Posted: 06 May 2020 02:12 PM PDT

I think a lot more people are holding onto MVIS right now because the conference call is tomorrow and if they do confirm acquisition by Microsoft the stock will boom so why wouldn't you want your foot in the door before that call? Also the stock has a lot of pressure to stay above 1 dollar right now because anything less increases opportunity and reduces risk and many people by below a dollar. This is my way of thinking but maybe I'm wrong. I think tomorrow we're going to see a rally before the conference because the selloff happened today and it's another opportunity to boom.

I have 1300 shares at 1.20 and confident it'll hit 2 dollars tomorrow and much more if the conference confirms the acquisition. Anyone betting big?

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/shopify-sales-surge-businesses-shift-111446450.html

Sales grew by 47% to $470 million from the same quarter a year ago, Ottawa-based Shopify said in a statement Wednesday. Analysts had expected about $443 million, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

The key metric of gross merchandise volume, which represents the value of all goods sold on the platform, increased 46% or $5.5 billion to $17.4 billion from a year earlier. Analysts were expecting a 40% increase on a year-over-year basis to $16.9 billion.

    Are Banking stocks undervalued?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 11:44 AM PDT

I am looking to diversify my portfolio and I'm taking a look at banking stocks (GS, JPM, MS, BAC). They didn't seem to rally as much as other stocks so it seems like a good opportunity to buy. With lower consumer spending, uncertainty regarding mortgage payments and disappointing earnings, the fall in price seems logical. However their core business may be back on track as soon as Q3 and the lockdown may push banks to improve on their online service (mobile banking etc).

What are your thoughts on this ? What to look for when assessing a risk of such investment ?

What's the best strategy if I believe $ZM will be worth less than $100 within 2 years?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 08:24 AM PDT

I would like to know an options strategy where I can bet against zoom over the course of a two year period that some of you might recommend.

I'd like to have a few requirements

    • I don't want to risk losing more than I'm gambling with
    • I'm fine with profits being capped if it helps the first point above
    • I'd like a simple type of spread

I recently learned about long bull call spreads and I'd like the opposite of that in a way.

Can we talk about this market?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 06:52 AM PDT

How in the world can DIS post huge losses from their parks segment, leaving them with a 30% earnings miss, and still have green day the following day?

Can anyone make sense of this for me?
