How continuously do you reach out to Prospect if you aren’t getting a response?

    Posted: 01 May 2020 06:48 AM PDT

Calling several times a day, no answer. Sent an email. Would it be bad to follow up that email the next day? How much is too much if you are getting no response?

Typically I would start looking for other contacts, but in this case I know they are the final decision maker.

    Last Minute Advice

    Posted: 01 May 2020 05:02 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

I'm about to enter my first sales competition (>2 hrs)! I'm really excited and nervous all at the same time. I feel confident that I look good and have a good 80-85% prepped in terms of what I need. Obviously, there are things I can't prep for, but I feel pretty good.

Do y'all have any last-minute advice? Tips on opening? How best to handle objections? Building rapport? Or if you have some words of encouragement, I would appreciate it. Anything will help really!

    Thanks!

    Noman :)

Update: I wasn't able to close and I had to schedule a follow-up appointment. Oh well, I learned a lot from the experience and I know that I'll be able to do better next time. Thanks for the advice!!

Update 2: I MADE IT TO ROUND 2, GUYS! THAT MEANS I'M IN THE TOP 20 OUT OF 150 STUDENTS! Ik that's not a lot, but I'm really excited to see what happens :)

Update 3: I didn't make it to the final round, but I am very happy with my performance, especially in the second round. I got to say that it was definitely nerve-wracking and difficult to get everything in order. I want to thank you all for supporting me with your tips and kind words. Some things that I learned for next time:

    1. Prepare more beforehand by coming up with several different scenarios and practicing each one with other people >> Refine the plan based on what works and what doesn't.

    2. TIMING IS KEY! Make sure you know how to steer the conversation in a friendly, but assertive way. Also, make sure that you're comfortable with the time limit.

    3. Take time to chill out a little bit beforehand so you can remain composed when you are performing. Just relax and take pauses to breathe before you speak!

If y'all have anything to add, I would appreciate it! - Noman

Real response rate to cold messaging on LinkedIn.

    Posted: 01 May 2020 03:25 AM PDT

Every social media guru has their own response rate that they claim to get.

What response rate do you receive? I find when properly qualifying and personalising I get 20- 25% on a good day.

Has anyone found certain days work better? I find Wednesday best

    LinkedIn outreach advice

    Posted: 01 May 2020 07:31 AM PDT

Hi guys, I'm just getting back to software sales and wondering what is the modern approach to reach cold leads on LinkedIn - I guess mine is extremely old fashioned. Any tips on that or information sources? Thanks!

Request: REAL experience, outsource LinkedIn Lead Gen for B2b sales

    Posted: 01 May 2020 02:14 PM PDT

Looking for first hand accounts of in-house sales people / teams that have used an outside contractor/agency to do LinkedIn lead gen? Please NO gurus / pitches / case studies.

I'm constantly getting pitched for these services - essentially someone will research and reach out to leads via your LinkedIn account.

Does this actually work? I feel like both inmail and messaging is pretty worthless at this point because of the amount of (often poorly executed) sales activity.

Is this just a phase or do things get better?

    Posted: 01 May 2020 10:20 AM PDT

    Hi All,

I've been lurking on this page for some time and it's been my go-to for sales questions. Since I've had ample time at home to think about my career and things that I'm passionate about, I'm scared that I actually really don't like sales.

I'm in my early 20's and I work for a top Cybersecurity company. Lately I dread getting on my computer and having to prospect especially during a Pandemic. I used to love the chase of sales and winning deals but these days that doesn't even make me excited. People will tell you that in Sales, each day is different but for me each day is the same grind just with different partners and customers. I can't imagine myself staying in this role for the rest of the year much less for the next 20-30 years.

I have been strongly considering moving into a Customer Success which seems interesting or into a Product Management role. If I take the PM route, I most definitely won't be able to stay with my company as all the PM roles are in the Bay area and I'm located in a different state.

I'm not sure if this is just a phase and I'll feel different once work and life return back to normal or if I should consider leaving my sales role. If anyone has been in a similar situation I would love to hear what you ended up doing.

Stay well + have a great weekend everyone!

Any news of layoffs/rescinded offers for Oracle?

    Posted: 01 May 2020 01:25 PM PDT

I'm scheduled to join the Class of BDC (entry level sales rep) in Santa Monica this summer but haven't heard any updates from my recruiter on the standing of the program. When the lockdown measures first started in March, I reached out to my recruiter and she confirmed that there was no news on her end. It's been pretty nerve wracking to say the least, since most of my peers (across tech, marketing, entertainment) have either gotten their offers rescinded or at least gotten a confirmation that the program is still moving forward. But there's been absolute radio silence from Oracle.

For those of you with more insider knowledge on the current state of the tech sales industry, what do you think? I know no one really has the answers at this point but any rumors or insight on what might be happening behind the scenes would be really helpful!

    Quitting During a Global Pandemic

    Posted: 01 May 2020 10:00 AM PDT

I haven't been in sales that long (6 months) but I can't remember the last time I was excited to go to work. I hate waking up and grinding out prospecting for 90% of my day and just thoroughly haven't enjoyed the job outside of when I get to sell to prospects FTF.

I'm in an industry and position that's typically regarded as a "meat grinder" (payroll) and know that this isn't something I can see myself doing for the rest of my life (or honestly even another month!). Is it time to pack it in on sales and find a career I'm passionate about like law and marketing or could there be other sales jobs for me?

First time working sales (beer rep)

    Posted: 01 May 2020 06:06 AM PDT

I've worked for my current company for about 6 months doing other things but they're expanding quickly and decided to move me to sales. So I'm already really familiar with our variety of beers, it's the face to face sales that I'm completely new to and a bit nervous about - I'm not a natural salesman and a bit introverted most of the time. I don't know any techniques or really how to gauge much. Any advice would be appreciated.

Am I getting paid too little?

    Posted: 01 May 2020 09:04 AM PDT

    Hey All,

Quick post here and don't want to provide too much info about the company because you never know who stalks these streets. Basically, my company currently has expectations of me selling $1.2MM in annual revenue in order to make an income of $85k pretax (that's base + commission).

The average deal size is between $8,000 - $15,000 and can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

I feel as though this structure will change in the near future because they are still working out the kinks but, I wanted to get a feel for what other sales reps OTE + sales target is.

    Thank you!

Stress is starting to reallllllly take a toll on me (23 yr old, F)

    Posted: 01 May 2020 03:56 AM PDT

So. I'm losing my hair. It's starting to thin fairly significantly and I've had to start taking collagen powder in my tea every morning. And I missed a period. Not sure what's up with that but I took two pregnancy tests several days apart and they were both negative. It's also 4:30am right now and I can't remember the last time I got a good night's rest. Last night I had a nightmare that my best friend / ex saved me from a bear and sacrificed himself.

What that actual fuck is going on? How can I stop this? I've tried therapy and that doesn't seem to change the fact that the world is freaking out over a stupid virus. Guess what! I had covid-19 a couple of months ago. It sucked for 5 days and then I was absolutely fine. I'm freaking the fuck out because I desperately need a cushy sales job again asap or else I have to move from Colorado back to Indiana. Do you even know how devastating that thought is? Just the thought of it. Devastating! I think I'd rather camp around the American Southwest with my golden retriever pup before moving back home. Or at least that's how I justify my recent rei purchases.

I had an offer for a killer software sales job right before this goddamn stay at home order. I called to accept the position, and then was told that they're on a hiring freeze! 1 month later and they haven't returned 2 of my calls (left voicemails), 1 email, or 1 text. The hell is this? This is my livelihood. It's my LIFE. It's time to act like adults and communicate!

With that being said, is anyone's company hiring? I've got some killer stats for someone who has only been in sales (b2b, worked as an an account manager in IT staffing and as a small business consultant / territory rep at paychex until I interviewed for the software sales company) for 18 months or so. I'm also a former division I athlete (tennis) and graduated a semester early with a 3.73 gpa.

Swear I'll get a haircut and have my shit together if I get an interview. Also not usually this immature, but I'm just over this virus bs.

    Thank you!

    Sales and diversity

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 10:58 PM PDT

Hi. I am new to the sub and am interested in sales as a career. I have experience in retail sales but I feel it is irrelevant, as I was a sales associate at a big box store. I am worried that my skin color will prevent me from climbing the ranks of being a successful salesperson. I am half white and half Asian (not Chinese) and look Hispanic as a result. How are non-white salespeople treated in the workplace by both clients and colleagues? Am I worrying about nothing? Thank you.

Need help with drafting a sales strategy report to recover from drop in sales due to COVID-19

    Posted: 01 May 2020 01:11 AM PDT

Hello everyone, sort of a lurker here. I'm a relatively new employee in my company (1 month) working as a medical (pharmaceutical) sales rep.

As everyone would have expected, a lot of industries are currently suffering from the effects of the ongoing pandemic and my company is no exception. Due to such circumstances, my manager has instructed every sales rep to come up with a strategy report on how to recover from the fall in sales by tomorrow.

However, I struggle to understand on what I can do to help my sales in bouncing back that would be considered to be a viable strategy plan. I've only started this sales job with no prior experience in sales. I also majored in chemical engineering so my knowledge in businesses and sales is very limited. With such time constraints, I don't know what I can do to formulate such a plan without any prior knowledge/experience.

I am hoping that any of you here could give me some advice or point me in the right direction. Thank you for your time and help.

What are the best offline CRM apps that do not store data in the cloud and do not require subscription, rather store all day in the app and are free or purchased one time. Do such apps even exist?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 09:22 PM PDT

What the title says. Searching on Google Play for CRM or offline CRM brings hundreds of apps but all appear to be just front ends to some kind of web service they represent.
