12 year old trying to start a software business Posted: 16 May 2020 08:19 PM PDT Hi. I am planning to make a software business called uSoft, which will have a subsidiary called uGame, which is a monthly subscription service where you get access to games on a span of platforms, and another subsidary called uWork, which is for creative tools, for example Adobe's Creative Cloud, or Microsoft's Office 365. I will add more as I go on. This is def a long term project. I will try to also make a bit more $$$ by using google adsense. I am taking an HTML and CSS course, and also a C++ course. Does anyone have any tips/tricks about businesses/software businesses? Thanks. Here is a logo I made in Adobe Illustrator. This may be too much for a 12 year old like me, but I will try my best. What does your business needs after the lockdown restrictions are lifted? Posted: 16 May 2020 12:41 PM PDT I am curious about what you as a business owner consider as a priority when you can restart your operation. Would you invest in marketing or would you focus on more cost management? And why? Let's discuss it! [link] [comments] |

Buying a business from a company Posted: 16 May 2020 08:38 PM PDT Me and my wife have always wanted to own a movie theatre and we are both managers of one in our small town. It doesn't make a lot of money (it needs Reno's but the company doesn't want to waste money on a small theatre in a small town) and with the quarantine going on right now it's definitely losing a lot of money. We thought it would be a good idea to see if we can take advantage of that and look into buying the building and business from the company. How would we go about doing so? [link] [comments] |
What do you think is wrong with the Hit Entertainment business model? Posted: 16 May 2020 08:09 PM PDT Hit Entertainment was a company specializing in preschool content that was very popular in the late 1990s and early-mid 2000s. They owned Barney, Wishbone, Kipper, Bob the Builder, The Wiggles, Angelina Ballerina, Rubbadubbers, Animal Jam, ToddWorld, Thomas & Friends, Fraggle Rock, and Pingu. They also co-produced Oswald with Nickelodeon. Their shows did air on various TV networks, Kipper, Bob the Builder, and Rubbadubbers aired on Nickelodeon, ToddWorld and Animal Jam aired on Discovery Kids, The Wiggles aired on Disney Channel. Barney, Wishbone, Angelina Ballerina, Thomas & Friends, and Bob the Builder aired on PBS. But TV was never their main focus. It was mostly just a means to advertise their DVDs and VHS tapes, because that's where they could make more money. A lot of the time they'd produce a regular half-hour series to air on TV, and also produce hour-long straight-to-video specials that were exclusively available on DVD and VHS. They'd even have episodes of other Hit Entertainment shows be included on a DVD for one particular show, this was called Hit Extras. I wonder why no other studio or producer has tried this business model. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 May 2020 01:06 AM PDT Hey guys, I would be very grateful if you could fill out a short questionnaire about experiences with mobile applications focused on mental health and wellbeing. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Link: https://forms.gle/XU557avDn4TZxJxY9 Thank you! [link] [comments] |

What can I do with my graphic design experience? Posted: 16 May 2020 10:38 AM PDT I am 17 years old and have a gig on Fiverr where I make wallpapers for desktops and phones. That being said, I know how to use Adobe Illustrator and want to know new ways I can make money with my skill. Fiverr just isn't cutting it (I spend like 3 hours and make $12). Because of the niche I'm in, I can't really charge more either. And I am by no means an artist either, so it's not like I can sell art. Any ideas? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
