So guys.... wheres this crash? Posted: 27 Apr 2020 07:27 AM PDT Advice for the past 4-5 weeks have been to wait for the crash, "its coming". Not just on reddit, but pretty much everywhere theres this large group of people saying "no no, just wait, its going to crash a little more" back in March, to now "no no, just wait, we're in a bull market, its going to crash soon". 4-5 weeks later im still siting here $20k in cash watching the market grow pretty muchevery day and all my top company picks have now recovered and some even exceeding Feb highs. TSLA up +10% currenly and more than double March lows, AMD $1 off their ALL-TIME highs, APPL today announced mass production delay for flagship iPhones and yet still in growth. Microsoft pretty much back to normal. We've missed out havnt we?, what do we do now?, go all in with these near record highs and just ignore my trading account the the next 5 years? Airbus warns staff it is ‘bleeding cash at an unprecedented speed’ due to coronavirus impact Posted: 26 Apr 2020 06:51 PM PDT Ultimately, an Airbus bail out is a bail out to the banks that Airbus owes money to. Corporate bailouts in the US is what lead to the "Occupy Wall street" and the "Tea Party Movements" and ultimately the general outrage that drove the election of Donald Trump. Will be interesting to see how that plays out in the EU. [link] [comments] |
AAPL suspends 2020 iPhone model production Posted: 27 Apr 2020 04:50 AM PDT Apple suspends mass production of their 2020 new model iPhone, Stock up 2.3% [link] [comments] |
TOO BIG TO FAIL keeps getting smaller - Carnival now a Fed sponsored Zombie Posted: 27 Apr 2020 07:01 AM PDT https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-fed-intervention-saved-carnival-11587920400 " t was mid-March and the vultures were circling Carnival Corp., the largest cruise-line operator in the world. That all changed on March 23 when the Federal Reserve defibrillated bond markets with an unprecedented lending program. Within days, Carnival's investment bankers at JPMorgan Chase & Co. were talking to conventional investors such as AllianceBernstein Holding and Vanguard Group about a deal. By April 1, the company had raised almost $6 billion in bond markets, paying rates far below those executives had discussed just days earlier. The previously unreported tale of Carnival's rescue shows how effective the Fed has been in turning the debt spigot back on for large corporations. The idea of a cruise company raising so much new debt even as the pandemic worsened caught many by surprise. Nevertheless, fear of missing out attracted more investors. When Carnival officially sold a $4 billion bond on April 1, it had enough demand to cut the interest rate down to 11.5% and issue a $1.75 billion bond that could convert into stock. I just invested my first ever 900$ - nervous but excited! Posted: 27 Apr 2020 11:53 AM PDT So I just invested my first ever $900(cnd), I plan to hold it for three years or so. I've been thinking about getting into the Stock market for a few years, I know you guys will probably laugh, but I never had the courage of going into it. But I've been having a bit of a life change, and I want to invest and try to better myself in the future. I decided to go into these. Disney - 3 shares Microsoft - 1 Share Air Canada - 10 shares American Airlines - 6 shares I'm gonna probably put $200 a paycheque to invest starting now, I'm looking into more blue chip and tech stocks. Thank you everybody for reading! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:39 AM PDT Any idea why DIS is so high today? Haven't seen any news about it, just curious what your guys' thoughts are [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:47 AM PDT Every stock I own I'm almost positive will not go under from this no matter what the circumstance. I didn't buy on 3/23, missed it by a few days. So I missed the bottom.. so what? Still seeing gains on almost every single one. If the market dips lower than 3/23, I will just be happy to DCA and get a little closer to those lows. I am pretty noobish, only been reading/investing a few years but this seems like a fairly obvious strategy to me. So bears, what exactly is it you are waiting for? I know by now it's too late to get in at the prices a lot of these companies dropped to, but if it tests new lows, all that means is the people who already have shares will come closer to even on their investments temporarily until the market inevitably does recover. Am I completely off-base here or does this sub represent a massive case of paralysis by analysis? [link] [comments] |

The risk of a US double-dip depression is real - FT Posted: 27 Apr 2020 06:45 AM PDT https://www.ft.com/content/ecca2149-ddfc-47e0-983c-9bf0a6c3fae1 With reopening parts of the US, we run the risk of triggering a second outbreak and a deepening economic dive. [link] [comments] |
Live Nation Entertainment (LYV) Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:28 AM PDT Can someone explain to me why a company which generates no dividends and which will generate no income for a very long time sees its share price rise as if like nothing ever happened ? [link] [comments] |
iBio Estimates ~500 Million Dose Capacity for COVID-19 Vaccine from its FastPharming Facility™ Posted: 27 Apr 2020 01:19 PM PDT |

SEC Aggressively Suspends Trading Of 17 COVID-19 Solutions Suspected As Fraudulent Posted: 26 Apr 2020 06:03 PM PDT While the SEC is actively suspending trading in questionable stocks, rating agencies are actively downgrading many companies. https://www.ft.com/content/253210d5-4a2d-439f-a4a6-204a7f66d445 [link] [comments] |
Stock watch List April 27, 2020 Posted: 27 Apr 2020 05:44 AM PDT Good morning, here's my watch list Gap Ups: AUDC, AVDL, AXSM, DKNG, DNOW, ELTK, FB, MRNA, NAT, NVDA, SCO, TLRY, YTEN Gap Downs: CNXM, ZM SPY, QQQ, IWM all gapping up pretty significantly pre market. Usually these are the most difficult days to trade. Good thing is that SPY is gapping over the 50 day moving average and has held the prior 272 pivot level from 2019, both good signs. Last weeks action was a bit on the choppy side of things but with so many earnings reports being released this week, maybe we will get some cleaner action. SPY has room to move to around 300 until it runs into the 200 day moving average. We always enter trades with defined risk:reward calculated before hand, this can help eliminate large losses. Good luck trading today. I am not holding any positions in any stock listed at the time of this posting. The purpose of this watch list is to watch these stocks for opportunities to trade. Posted: 27 Apr 2020 11:03 AM PDT I'm looking to hop into the stock market right now. Missed the mid-march crash window to buy, I'm debating whether it's worth it to jump in now or wait for a second crash. Specifically looking to buy ETFs. 20% of the S&P 500 is currently controlled by 5 large companies, historically this is what has happened right before larger economic downturns. Some people are saying that there will be a larger dip in the market closer to the end of the year, ie: when/if there's a 2nd covid wave.... wondering what people's thoughts on this are. Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:48 AM PDT Basically got into Stocks beginning of this year when I opened my first Roth IRA and have been following this sub for a while anyways I see a lot of talk about how Disney is a great buy in this dip and a great long term hold. But if you look at their balance sheet for 2019 they have current asset of 28.1B and current liabilities of 31.3B What makes DIS such a good buy if they own more in Debt than Assets? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:58 AM PDT Most of us talk about the brands with a bright future ahead of them. Well, maybe a bright future, but at least a bright future is priced in. Tesla, Amazon, Beyond among others. So for the sake of talking about something else, what are some potential gems from the past? I bought B&G Foods a few months ago, and it turned out to be a great investment. Their business model is basically to buy and own old out of fashion brands, and try to either relaunch them or squeeze what's left of them. I recently bought Atari (Atari SA, that is, the new owner of the Atari brand). Their idea is to launch old Atari titles on new platforms. I'm thinking they're great as casual phone games. What other stock picks are out there that have been out of the limelight for a long time and might never come back... but could. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Apr 2020 12:15 PM PDT I am pretty new to this but as far as I know Hertz didn't get a bailout and some say they may go bankrupt by the summer. I bought a couple stocks when it was trading at around 5,50$ and one week after I was sure I would lose all my money but today things look "promising?". [link] [comments] |
Adidas (ETR: ADS) opened at €198,25 on a negative Q1 report, only to soar to €214,50 within the hour Posted: 27 Apr 2020 01:14 AM PDT The sportswear giant seemed to have been impacted by the negative news coming out of the Q1 report, but seemingly like every other stock in the market it didn't last long before it soared up more than 8%. The markets really do not like the red ink one bit. [link] [comments] |
Anyone else printing with Penn Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:13 AM PDT I missed the dip when it sank to $4 but got in around $10 and now it's jumped to $16. Curious if anyone got lucky and holding on to those $4/5 shares. Holding on for the long haul for me but nice short term profits here [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Apr 2020 11:50 AM PDT Holding looks solid , but mer is high . What are your thoughts on this ETF in terms of a long term hold? Anyone holding ? [link] [comments] |
What sites do you use to make trades? Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:53 AM PDT I've been trading for a year now and my portfolio has performed surprisingly well. I'm now looking for a stable service for trading long-term. What services do you recommend? I'd prefer something commission-free, but wanna hear all thoughts. [link] [comments] |
Opinions on Brookfield Asset Management (BAM)??? Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:57 AM PDT I've had them on my watchlist for quite some time and recently I did a much deeper dive into them and I am really liking a lot of things about them. $540 billion assets under management. Great diversity in Real Estate, Infrastructure, Renewable Power, Private Equity, and other public and private securities. They have been growing revenue and profits substantially over that last few years and are projected to do lots more in the future. They also pay a dividend and have been increasing that dividend for the last 8 years. I might be buying some soon but would live to do a majority of my buying under $30. Anyone have any opinions on them? Any red flags I'm missing? Do u own any personally or plan on it? I'm 21 and have a long term horizon of atleast 10+ years. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Why do people sell the day before the Ex-Div. Date Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:39 AM PDT So there is a Declaration Date a few weeks before the Ex-Div. Date then the next day is the Record Date and then a Pay Date. That is all correct right? Also what is the point of the Record Date? So if you sell after the Ex-Div. Date you get paid the dividend. Why would you sell before? Also once there is a Declaration Date the dividend cannot be changed or removed? [link] [comments] |
