Ibio set for possible huge gains

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 09:09 AM PST

The director of IBIO recently obtained 350k shares of IBIO late last year. In January Eastern Capital ltd, a private firm specializing exclusively in investing in biotech companies, obtained a whopping 37 million shares of IBIO. Both insider trades so I've linked the paperwork on the bottom.

So far 4/6 of Eastern's biggest investments have been extremely successful.

They are having a shareholder's meeting tomorrow which could also report positive news as well. They recently published a press release announcing a partnership with a chinese firm, CC-pharming, on the development of a covid-19 vaccine.

They have other drugs in the pipeline as well - an alternative to Rituximab, which is an anticancer/arthritis drug listed by WHO as one of the essential medicines needed by a country. The market for Rituximab is in the billions, and the partnership with cc-pharming opens them up to the massive Chinese market.

CC-pharming is located in Zhongguancun Biomedical Engineering Transformation Center. Further research indicates that this center was opened in 2016 with the backing of the Chinese government, containing state of the art facilities to promote the biomedical sector.

They have terrible revenue history so it's a purely speculative buy, but it may be worth putting a few % of your portfolio into this stock in case it blows up big over the next couple of months. The upside is definitely there imo.

Still doing some more research on this company so I'll post more if I find any updates.

Update: They recently withdrew a proposal for a reverse stock split. This suggests that the company is confident in their ability to raise revenue as well as maintain share price. A possible recent development inside the company? Definitely a good sign.

Update 2: Congress stuck a deal providing over 7 billion in funds to fight coronavirus. IBIO may be getting some of that funding (their facility was previously funded by DARPA specifically to fight pandemics like the current coronavirus). Still speculation at this point however

Update 3: They recently went on a MASSIVE hiring spree. They went from 8 employees in 2018 up to 55 employees in 2019. This coincides with their recent partnerships in 2019/2020 as well.

They averaged less than 10 employees for the past decade then shot up to 55 in a year. Definitely something huge going on inside that facility.

    https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/IBIO/ibio/number-of-employees

Update 4: They are close to releasing a vaccine for classical swine flu, aka "pig plague". Swine flu is a massive problem in China and epidemics can ravage the pig population. IBIO's fastpharming system is specifically suited to making cheap, fast vaccines to deal with swine disease outbreaks. If IBIO can pull off an effective vaccine that is cheap enough to be widely used for pig inoculation this would be a windfall. The chinese pig farming market is China-level massive.

    Why is it going up

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 11:36 AM PST

I have yet to understand why the market is rising so much today if there has only been bad news and the virus is only getting worse. I understand that Biden did well in the elections yesterday which leaves Sanders with a lower chance of winning but if anything that should had just slowed down the decline but instead it brought everything up?

Any chance of markets dropping again or is it just the false mindset of the bear?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 12:51 PM PST

Obviously everything points to down right now, but I'm starting to wonder if this is just how people become bears. Just waiting, day after day, year after year, for that crash to come. And a decade passes, and it never happens.

I saw another post on here where a guy said that after all his years of trading, he learned to never doubt the central banks, amongst other factors that always seem to push shit up. Seems right more often than not.

    Made first trade today

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 12:29 PM PST

I made my first buy outside of my 401k funds. I bit on some DIS knowing the risk of future park closures are in the short but felt the 20% drop already down from the high helps cushion that a little and I am planning to long hold it on the prospects of them being the 100lb streaming guerrilla long term. Plus I like and use them haha.

I plan to buy others as tired of sitting on cash but will wait for quarter result drop first or post election. Anyone recommend a book I can read to learn the ins and outs in the meantime?

Covid19 has a very real chance of causing a depression.

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 09:53 PM PST

Many aren't factoring in the extent of global economic impact this will have. The death rate and infection rate is absolutely irrelevant. It is the fact that China's medical system was overwhelmed, even with their massive capabilities and measures. It is now in over 50 countries and governments are still not taking it seriously. Countries like Iran, Italy, Korea and France are entering the rapid growth stage and others like US will soon spread like wildfire from lack of action.

Supply chain is down, without income 40%+ of Chinese businesses go bankrupt by May, and with the rest of the world shutting down due to loss of consumer spending from fear, lockdowns and massive event cancellations, even if the Chinese are ready to work, there won't be any.

Now, factor in that the US collectively has about 100k ventilators and it is currently spreading in over 10 states with no measures. What happens when it starts to overwhelm the medical systems of the US and other countries? China went from 0-80k (reported) in the span of 2 months when they were the only ones spreading it. Today's situation is very different. There are 3 months until we can even start to consider warm weather a factor and the measures China implemented will not be happening in most other countries (Koreans just rejected a quarantine). This means that the fast spread will take up ICU beds rapidly because most countries medical systems are already overworked and the death rate will spike to that 3.4%(It's actually 5% that will die without assisted breathing.) you've been hearing about. Medical staff will begin resigning and getting sick, medical supplies will run out because nobody is exporting(This is already a problem). The healthy will stay home from fear, consumer spending dives and even those ready to work will be sent home. Now extrapolate that to every country on earth simultaneously and factor in how it'll affect GDP, bankruptcies and market sentiment.

    DEAC - after the press

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 08:32 AM PST

I know some people were disappointed after the press because we did not hear about the exact date.

However, I am more confident about the deal itself after CEO and CFO were explaining about SBtech and the merge. It's coming folks! Be patient.

    FYI: it's up 8% FYI2: up 12% today

    Gold price : mining stock

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 01:42 PM PST

How is the gold price related to the gold mining stock prices? We have seen a nice rise in gold prices this year yet gold mining stocks have been trading in the same range for months seemingly without a care in the world about the underlying asset.

Could the US realistically not do anything about the Coronavirus?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 01:25 PM PST

I've been thinking, what if this shit gets heavy and cases start soaring. Will Trump administration do quarantines? Or will they just let the virus run its course and infect everyone as long as Trump gets his tendies.

I recently traveled from Houston to Mexico and the airports are acting as if there isn't even a virus.

Hold Tesla stock till April? (News)

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 02:56 AM PST

Tesla will be holding their "Tesla Battery Day" in April upon which they should be announcing their new battery. Which puts them one step closer to be moving away from their partnership with Panasonic.

Do you see a potential spike happening in April during or after the event.

    Thoughts?

    Happy Trading

    Thoughts on INO?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 12:01 PM PST

Still new to researching the stocks but it seems undervalued as is, and as of Monday they've been approved for human trials of Corona vaccine as early as April. Saw a spike yesterday but otherwise it hasn't been a crazy gainer that would expected with that vaccine news. Thoughts from anyone?

    Forecast 03/04/2020

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 05:39 AM PST

Super Tuesday was a sad day for Bernie Sanders and liberals, but a good day for the stock market. The biggest headline out of yesterday's elections in the Democratic race for President is the comeback of Joe Biden. With his big wins it is almost certain that Sanders can't get an outright majority of delegates, his best case scenario. Races are still being counted but Biden and Sanders will probably get similar numbers of delegates. But Biden has all the momentum from the big wins, the endorsements and the entire Democratic establishment behind him. There are reports that even Former President Obama made phone calls to the other candidates to drop out and endorse the former VP. This is great news for the stock market, since the drift in the Democratic Party can only weaken their nominee and a potential Trump re-election is more and more likely. Even if he losses, Biden's policies are very much pro corporations, so for the stock market is a win-win situation. The good news is reflected in the futures with all major index futures up around 2%. The Dow is up 550 points at 26450 at 8 15 AM ET, when this article is written.

This is a little down from the highs on news Italy is closing all schools. At 10AM non-manufacturing PMI numbers are coming out as well and there is high chance they will miss their estimates. This could start a decline for the day and I expect the market to lose some of these gains during the trading period. It will be another volatile session and the virus concerns are still big, but the political certainty with Biden taking lead in the Democratic race is a great positive for the market. Good luck!

REITs - Industrial/Self Storage Primer Wanted

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 09:21 AM PST

    Hi everyone,

Looking for a primer as mentioned in the title. I know the big banks put out primer reports every so often. Given the interest rate cut, I imagine REITs are looking to grow. Pretty familar with the Canadian REITs but not too familar with the American ones.

I'm specifically looking into the industrial/self storage space given the growing e-commerce trend. Any reports pertaining to REITs/Industrial/Self Storage are greatly appreciated

    Thank you
