Debt among oldest Americans skyrockets 543% in two decades

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/26/debt-among-older-americans-increases-dramatically-in-past-two-decades.html

Total debt for Americans over age 70 increased 543% from 1999 through 2019 — the largest percentage increase for any age group, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Seniors have been "disproportionately harmed" by a deterioration in the country's "modest social safety net," according to a study.

Carrying debt in retirement isn't necessarily bad if people have the cash flow to pay their bills and still live comfortably, according to financial advisors.

How does compounding returns work for a index fund you hold for 30 years. Can someone explain it really simple terms?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 07:16 PM PST

If I sold it every day then I can see how it compounds daily. But that's not how it works. If I google VOO and I click and drag to see the return for some period of time I get a percentage. How does this work?

    Recession?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 10:45 AM PST

Famed economist Nouriel Roubini believes the potential for a global recession stemming from spillover effects from the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak "doesn't look totally farfetched."

He is building a dark outlook, but hasn't spoken to the impact of potential good news eventually, from vaccines or other reasons.

    ETF comparisons

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 06:08 PM PST

Hi! I'm a first time investor.. wanted to make sure I started in my early twenties and figured now (or really the near future since I'm hoping for a continued drop) is the time.

I have about $1000 to invest. I'm leaving for the peace corps in a few months so I wanted my small bit of extra cash to work for me while I'm gone.

I've done a ton of research lately trying to weigh this all out, but still a bit stumped on what would be the most advisable ETFs to throw money into with such a limited budget. I'm leaning toward QQQ due to it doubling over the past five years. Was looking at VTI too but that would seem a bit redundant when I can do QQQ. Here's my question - is there any argument for investing in S&P 500 instead? A lot of the same holdings, but more money, with less growth..

What would you do? I'm leaning towards three QQQ and then some individual companies that I have faith in..

    Probably a dumb question.

New to investing and already in the negatives after 1 year. I am buying a house this week and will be needing to cash my investments sometime in the next few years for renovations and such in the home. About half in tech and half in S&P. Does anyone suspect this dip to last more than a year or 2? I know that we could never know but just looking for opinions I guess. Having serious anxiety about it all.

If the sell-off were continuing this week, why did so many of the blue chips recover or nearly at close on friday?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 07:01 PM PST

Shouldn't Friday's sell-off have continued through close? Thanks in advance for your patience in explaining.

Do you expect the recovery to be V shaped or U shaped

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 07:13 AM PST

I personally think that if coronavirus is the main culprit, the numbers getting infected will just increase over time. This thing drag into the summer.

Can a short squeeze save the market tomorrow?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 04:51 PM PST

I was thinking about the rally last Friday and how many people may have had their weekly puts expire worthless. There are a lot of bets against the market right now, and the decline seemed drastic and too rapid. I started thinking that tomorrow morning, institutions might try to continue Friday's rally to squeeze retail traders and inflate the market, especially with people holding over the weekend.

Do you think that this is a possibility or that there will at least be an effort to pump the market before tomorrow's expirations, make them expire worthless, then purchase puts after hours at a discount?

Holy Grail Astrological Algorithm from Ares Le Mandat 4th edition

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 03:41 PM PST

from Ares Le Mandat(4th ed)....... "The basic gist of this improvised algorithm decrees that from the point when the degree of the sun is 3 degrees past(or higher than) the degree of the lunar node(in any sign) all the way until the degree of the sun enters a new sign at the 24th degree mark(using western astrology), a prediction of a market upswing should be applied. From the point when the degree of the sun enters a new sign at the 24th degree mark all the way until the degree of the sun goes 3 degrees past the degree of the lunar node(in any sign), the prediction of a market downswing should be applied."

this simple algorithm explains the dow jones and accounts for all the major crashes throughout its history and even successfully accounted for the recent slide. This algorithm can successfully navigate through the ups and downs of the market. Read and study Ares Le Mandat 4th edition (chapters 25 and 48) http://www.thedowcast.com/astrology-chart-referencing-for-dow-jones.html

    1. Look at the way my colleague Wesley Virgin's biography starts in this SHOCKING and controversial VIDEO.

Wesley was in the army-and soon after leaving-he unveiled hidden, "MIND CONTROL" tactics that the CIA and others used to get whatever they want.

As it turns out, these are the EXACT same SECRETS lots of celebrities (notably those who "come out of nothing") and the greatest business people used to become wealthy and famous.

You've heard that you utilize only 10% of your brain.

That's mostly because the majority of your brain's power is UNCONSCIOUS.

Maybe this thought has even occurred INSIDE your very own head... as it did in my good friend Wesley Virgin's head around 7 years ago, while driving an unlicensed, beat-up bucket of a vehicle without a license and with $3.20 on his debit card.

"I'm so frustrated with going through life check to check! When will I get my big break?"

You've taken part in those types of questions, right?

Your success story is going to happen. You just need to take a leap of faith in YOURSELF.
