Company being sued by Tinder for generic sorting?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 02:46 AM PDT

This patent that Tinder owns (https://patents.google.com/patent/US9733811) it includes the most generic query and sorting that probably millions of apps have. They are suing us and trying to force the codebase from us via court order. Is there anything I can do about this? The small company we made the app for cannot afford lawyers. It's a generic patent too. Any ideas?

Potentially Selling My Business, Now What?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 06:33 PM PDT

Key Notes: Possibly selling my business, built it from the ground up, good at business, currently making $135K salary, no college education, 26 years old, would anyone find me valuable enough to make the same salary starting out?

Hello fellow Redditors! First of all I hope you all are staying safe during this recommended quarantine time & wish you good health in the upcoming months. Any who, I currently own a small business/storefront/service that has been made an offer I am completing accepting. In the business I am in, it's a niche market (like a mechanic) where any ordinary business person would not come in & purchase. It is actually very difficult to sell a store like mine, so when the offer came across my desk I was surprised. My question is, if I did take the offer & seek employment until my next business venture kicks off, does anyone find successful (ish) small business owners valuable? I was updating my resume just in case the sell goes through & I feel like I will get looked over due to lack of education. The offer is just under $500K, which I feel is under valued given we net over $200K yearly, but the problem is I will probably never be offered that again given the special services business I am in and it may be my way out. (I do want more & very hungry). They are really paying for our reputation, phone number, assets, etc. I bring home about $135K yearly, plus my wife works full time in the business & draws a decent salary. Where could I go to draw that kind of salary or more (if any)? Does any company find people like myself valuable? I do want to take a salary decrease. I am VERY good with people, managing company money, great with employee & team building, and lastly I am a great salesman, but will never ever be a door to door or car guy. If I were to ever become a salesman, it would be for something very large or important where only a couple are sold monthly. Thank you for the inputs!

How many grocery deliveries does a typical Walmart make per day?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 05:34 PM PDT

I know it's pretty specific, but I've been curious as to just how utilized Walmart's grocery delivery service is. Or really any grocery stores service for that matter.

Business books that give you insight

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 05:26 AM PDT

Does anyone know any good business books that help instruct and teach you what to do to sell/make money? I'm not talking about books that give you an open mindset but show you how it works/what to do?

Is there a Facebook bot that sends DMs to every person that makes a post in a Facebook group?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 06:55 AM PDT

To give some context, I am a logo designer and I am in a few logo design groups where people ask for someone to make logos. I can't be on Facebook all day, so I am looking for a bot that sends DMs to every person that makes a post in that group

But the number of customers have been decreasing from the past two years because of a chain of supermarket (like Walmart) that can provide discounted prices.... How can we tackle this? First Time Lending Money, what should I know?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 09:58 AM PDT

    Hello
So my friend who is quite trust worthy wants me to lend him 2.5k so he can buy a car.
He said he will pay me back 250 each money for the total sum of 2.75k.
Is this a good deal, worth doing? I know its not a whole lot but it seems to make sense in my mind.

Also what are things I should be doing. Contract wise? I've never made a contract before nor have any idea on what to do if for some reason he can't make a payment. (very unlikely imo)
I figured I would do it but make his dad sign something to say if his son for some reason can't pay that he will take his place. is that a thing?

At first I said no, but then I thought it would actually be pretty good experience for me as like a trial into actually doing business with someone. I want to treat this as a legit business opportunity rather than a mate lending his boy some cash. If you know what I mean.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

How do I find the right forums?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 04:13 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I'm in the market research phase of a Minecraft related product I have thought of. I have set up a form on Microsoft forms asking the participant to complete some questions relating to the idea. I'm trying to go round the different communities on Reddit, Discord and many other forums. However, the majority of the people who have viewed my posts are not participating. Is there anything I can do to get more responses to my survey? Where can I go? Are there any tools?
