Tesla sell-off deepens, stock craters 20% Posted: 05 Feb 2020 10:55 AM PST A Tesla executive said that cars initially scheduled for delivery in early February will be delayed due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus. Tesla shares fell as much as 20% in early trading Wednesday on the news. Tesla began rolling out Model 3 vehicles from its Shanghai Gigafactory to Chinese customers in January. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Feb 2020 05:03 PM PST Never bought a call, simply curious how one reads the options in the link provided. For example, the first call is at a 25 strike price, expires Feb 7. The last price is 13.56. Uber is currently 36. The premium for this contract would be 13.56*100 = 1,356. Would that be accurate? But then I would get the shares at $25. Now, If I was to sell my shares at the current price of 36, would net the difference 36-25 = 11*100 = 1,100. Thus, losing $256 on the whole ordeal. It would have to go up to 39 just for me to net $44. What would be the purpose of that? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Feb 2020 08:43 AM PST Tesla is TSLA, -13.65% parabolic. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note TMUBMUSD10Y, +2.05%, even before the coronavirus outbreak, couldn't top 2%, and the yield curve even when it isn't inverted has been very flat. Commercial construction has tapered off. Vehicle sales have peaked. Banks plan to tighten lending standards at the same time as they expect a flattening of demand, according to a survey released this week. Even those loss-making initial public offerings, or near IPOs in the case of real-estate company WeWork, are starting to run a tighter ship. Over two years, zero-coupon Treasurys EDV, -1.13% have produced nearly double the return of the S&P 500 SPY, +0.71%. "It is the type of stuff you see at the end of credit and economic cycles," says Mike Larson, senior analyst at Weiss Ratings. "I am concerned about the durability of this market and economic expansion." He is dismissive of the three interest-rate cuts from the Federal Reserve, calling them both too late and too timid to make a major difference, though he concedes the housing market has stabilized in response. Posted: 05 Feb 2020 06:40 AM PST Earnings coming soon. It grew fourfold over past 52 weeks. It soared 15% between yesterday and today. I already own good bit of it between ETFs ACES, QCLN, and TAN. I'm wondering if I should keep holding this. People are bullish, but is it for good reason or just a momentum play? Any insight would be appreciated! [link] [comments]
Help explaining stock dilution and plug power Posted: 05 Feb 2020 04:10 PM PST Apparently, plug power has been failing to fulfill its promises for a while now, and it turning a profit is far in the future, so the reason that the stock price has been increasing is because they sell a lot of stock, but how does that increase the stock's value? Wouldn't that decrease the stock's value, because each share is now worth less of a percentage of the company? A nasdaq article titled "Where will Plug Power be in 10 years?" Says > Over the past decade, investors in Plug have seen shares outstanding in their company grow 18 times in volume, from 12.9 million shares at the end of 2009 to 245.8 million shares today. On the plus side, so long as investors remain willing to buy Plug shares and provide Plug the cash it needs to survive, there's actually a good chance that Plug will remain in business for another 10 years. The problem, though, is that even assuming Plug "makes it," and even assuming the company ultimately earns a profit (eventually), given the rampant dilution going on, by the time that profit does arrive it will be so diluted by so many shares outstanding that any profits accruing to any single investor will be de minimis. > Long story short: 10 years from now, Plug Power may well still be in business -- but I wouldn't want to own it. So are they saying the dividends will be low from them? If so, I don't care, as long as the stock price has gone up. I'm getting that they are getting more funding from selling more stock, and that's keeping them alive for a potential future profit, but why has the stock price gone up? Is it confidence that is driving that up? [link] [comments]
Which factors do you think make a stock more attractive? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 02:42 PM PST I'm looking at creating a stock screener but would like to hear your opinions on what you think makes a stock most attractive and thus likely to grow in value (EPS, sma's, alpha etc). This could be just commonly known indicators or maybe personal factors that are attractive to you personally. I'm not too knowledgable of the more unknown/obscure indicators (dividend yield for example?) hence why I'm asking here. Thanks for your help. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Feb 2020 11:08 AM PST Any opinion on why $MSFT went down today? The stock opened @ 184 +/- and is currently hovering at around 178.80 I felt it may rebound at certain points but it didn't happen. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Feb 2020 10:03 AM PST Soo.. in addition to the withdrawal fee of 25 USD, etoro fucks over Europeans when they deposite euros. So for example, if i deposit 1000 euro right now my account will only obtain 1075 USD. That's 25 USD less than the current USD/EUR exchange rate. And apparantly the conversion fee is also applied when i withdraw money. That means that on my 1000 euro investment, I don't start earning money until I've reached like 70 euro! This sounds like alot to me, and doesnt even include the fees in the spreads. Thing is i do really like the platform and the concept of copytrading. Are these amount of fees normal or not? Posted: 05 Feb 2020 07:05 AM PST I'd say a good 7-10% jump above the 10 day moving average puts it up to around 232-235 by the end of next week. I'm in the TQQQ for ten percent then I will reassess [link] [comments]
