    ENPH For the Long Run

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 07:51 AM PST

Hi all, I am currently in Enphase Energy, Inc. (ENPH) at around $18.5. Currently hovering around $24 after consecutive days of gains and breaking the $20 mark. I was initially trading this to sell at $24 but after looking at fundamentals and doing more research on to the stock I'm thinking about holding it for the long term and adding more positions during the next dip. But at the same time I don't think people have picked up conviction in solar currently, at least not for a few more years. What do you guys think? Is anybody else following/holding ENPH?

Question on year end tax strategy

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 07:52 AM PST

I've closed a couple positions this year at a loss. I have held and intend to hold other positions into next year that currently have unrealized gains exceeding my losses for the year. I want to fully utilize my losses for tax purposes.

Can I sell some of my position to net gains equal to my losses, effectively making my capital gains zero for the year and then buy back that same stock but now at the current price?

From my understanding the wash-sale rules apply to selling at a loss and then buying the stock after realizing losses. Unless I am mistaken the rule does not apply to realizing gains and then buying the stock again.

I do realize the downside of selling/buying puts the new position into a short-term holdings status.

Google up $20 this morning. Because of Sundar taking over?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 07:04 AM PST

Notice GOOG is doing well this morning and we did get news yesterday that Sundar was going to take the reins of Alphabet.

    Curious on thoughts if related?

    When will dividend be reinvested?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 08:50 AM PST

Kinda a dumb question, but I have Charles Schwab DRIP set up for all my positions. Visa paid their dividend yesterday and it shows as "cash on hold" in my account. How many days does it take to reinvest into partial shares?

Why I invested in dying GameStop

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 10:43 AM PST

Why I invested in @gamestopcorp: - next generation of consoles will have optical drives - double digit growth of collectibles - historical peaks around the new console releases - everyone says the company is dying - growing gaming market overall

I aim for 4x to $20 per share.

Would you sell Netflix now at a 20% loss?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 09:57 AM PST

Hi everyone. I bought Netflix stock about a year ago, and I am currently 20% down. I was bullish at the time because of international growth, but their international margins are much lower than I thought. I believe they charge 7 dollars a month in India. I obviously did not do enough research upfront, and it is a lesson learned.

My question, would you sell this stock at a loss or hold?

Novice here. Is there any point to holding on to a stock when the company has already filed for bankruptcy?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 08:07 AM PST

I own a few hundred shares of Insys Therapeutics, because I'm a moron.

I know the company already filed for bankruptcy, but I don't understand how that works procedurally.

There's no chance the stock goes back up in value, right? I ask, not because the $30 in "equity" I still have is worth selling, but because it could be useful to realize the loss by selling before 2019 ends for tax purposes since I've gained quite a bit in selling other stocks this year.

$BE ..thank you Short-Sellers for letting us buy stocks on the cheap today...Get ready for the Short-Squeeze to drive up the prices by Dec 15 !!!!

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 12:53 PM PST

Bool Energy (BE) had a huge down swing today - thanks to short sellers activity... technical analysis indicates a huge positive turning point on or around Dec 15. Use this opportunity to load up on discounted BE shares. Don't forget the Credit Suisse target share price is set to $20, and an Outperform rating based on an extensive analysis of the BE financials and field data of the BE's fuel cell performing at various clients. They also proved out the short sellers was fabricating facts to play on the stock price by making up on the fuel cell efficiencies , shelf life and service contracts liabilities. Ultimately Free Cash Flow valuation analysis is the king, and as per that analysis the stock will easily double in the next 6-12 months. This is a great investment... BUY BUY BUY !

    Buy, sell, or hold TSLA?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 12:29 PM PST

I've been consistently bullish on TSLA, but Elon's trial this week has me questioning that. I have a bit of a gain from the stock at the moment, so I'm wondering if I should get out now, or hold on to it.

(Novice) what happens if I buy stock in a company thats owned by a bigger company?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 11:01 AM PST

What happens if I buy stock in a company owned by a bigger company, or in the process to be brought out by a bigger company?

would that still be a good investment?

For example, I want to buy stocks in this company called Vuzix Corporation

they have cheap stock, but I notice that they are partially owned by Intel, a much bigger corporation. Would like some advice on this. Would this be a good idea or not?

If Intel buys them all the way out, would I lose all the stock I purchased?

New to The Stock Market, Looking For Tips.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 10:36 AM PST

Hey guys! I am new to investing in the stock market and just wanted to ask some questions.

I am a college student, and my goal is to hopefully make some money and wipe out student and other debts, and I've read online this is a good way to.do so, but to be cautious with it. My way of seeing where to invest is reading articles, watching YouTube videos and reading forums of brokers (like you guys) on when to watch and buy.

At the end of December, I want to dump some money into smaller stocks (roughly $200-400 worth) and see if I can gain some profit over time.

Would any of you guys have any tips on where to watch, when to buy and sell, and all that? I am currently invest in ADXS and IBIO which I have heard have potential of good growth.

Is this a good way to build money so I can eventually pay off debts? What should I definitely avoid or be cautious of?

I know the stock market is a giant gamble, but I'm willing to take a shot. Thanks to anyone who can possibly help me!

    Individual stock investing vs ETFS

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 07:02 PM PST

Hey everyone. The stock market stresses me the hell out. with how available the internet is, i'm constantly watching the market, and it makes my head spin. I feel safer in VOO and VT with my retirement accounts but struggle to accept the volatility of indivudal stocks. i have apple, msft, disney, copart and JNJ.

What do you guys reccomend? sell my individuals for peace of mind and just put that into more voo and such?

I know it can't go up forever but the market is high right now and i don't like all the news and fluxes just off of what one man says.

    Thanks

Is the US steel industry on lifeline?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 09:03 AM PST

Is the steel industry on lifeline?

The steel industry has been on the down and never recovered in the US since 1973 recession. Our automotive industry would be the same, without the bailouts. Notice that the steel industries had a boost from 2016. There was a massive steel tariff placed to protect US steel. Trump has place more tariffs helping the industrial industries. During the 2020 these stocks will go volatile. The steel industry is on a lifeline just there to keep jobs for political sense. Eventually the US government is going to have to let go of US industry or pay higher pricing on all things steel vs the rest of the world.

Read the part on what the day about china. China's been creating an extreme amount of steel. Then off loading it onto the world market driving price of steel to the floor. All because it's a jobs program for China.

Fellow US stocks investors from the UK - is the recent surge of GBP frustrating you as well?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 07:46 AM PST
