Expect a 5 to 10% correction in early 2020, says Wells Fargo's equity strategy head

03:41 ...they're putting three hundred and twenty billion dollars into the new york fed in the overnight repo...but 160 billion in last trading day this year 160 billion on the first trading day of next year...remember that Steven Minuch weekend where he sent out it's like "I've emailed all the bank CEOs and everything's fine" ... and everything's everything why did you have to do that you know sort of created almost a mini crisis why are they putting three hundred twenty billion in the repo market...this that sounds like a lot of money...it sounds like something's going wrong that we need to know about but nobody seems to be that worried about it.

Brian you make an excellent point in September the Fed asked us to wish it away in terms of an imbalance of cash demanded and cash supplied but as we continue to accelerate Federal Reserve involvement in the repo market and in fact expand the balance sheet which we view as a QE...the question has to be is the Fed looking at a repo counterparty that concerns them and if this is simply a mismatch it's at best a bad look for the Fed but if it's somebody saying I don't want to loan to you overnight aka what happened in in 2008...that's a lot more concerning...

I don’t like the TD Ameritrade and Schwab merger

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:51 AM PST

I used to have 2 accounts in scottrade and 3 in TD Ameritrade. After they merged, I have 5 accounts in TDA

Now I have one account in Schwab and it looks like I will now end up with 6 accounts in Schwab. Yaaaawn.

Free commission is killing brokerages. I love the zero dollar trades but I like different platforms and FINRA allows only one margin account per brokerage. At least that was what I was told. So now my three margin accounts will become one.

Before anyone asks, I pursue different strategies in different account. For example, Schwab is fully electric cars and green energy. It also helps me psychologically block out those investments when I am working on another brokerage.

I would hate to lose thinkorswim. Anyone knows if we will all be moving into one Schwab platform? That would suck.

I love Schwab for one reason, maybe two - they have zero commissions even on OTC and pink sheets, and ADR fees are lowest.

I also have chase you invest and they still have the nerve to charge 2.95 a trade. My Merrill lynch also has zero commissions now. I closed interactive brokers because of the annoying mobile app platform and too many login restrictions and security checkpoints. I have no time to get on a desktop trading software.

Which International Stock Markets to look at other than US for 2020?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:52 AM PST

Looking at the year ahead, is there any good reason or good opportunities in markets other than US?

Personally, I think Brexit may present some interesting opportunities in UK. I am avoiding Hong Kong as China welds too much power in their economy. As for the trade war, it is too early to tell the winners and losers.

    Will Apple ever buy Disney?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:57 PM PST

Rumors aside, Apple has $230 Billion in operating cash and Disney stock is valued at $250 billion. Would Apple want all of Disney's assets?

    ThinkOrSwim Paper Trading questions

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:44 AM PST

I've started using ToS paper trading and have a few questions. It been a great platform for trying out options and futures!

Is there a way to look at the P&L for completed trades? On the app I'm not seeing a way to locate that. Are there also "statements" available for the paper trading account? Also is there a desktop version to log in?

    Thanks!

Game plan for 2020! Buy hold or sell?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 12:04 AM PST

So we had an amazing 2019 for stocks and everyone did very well..moving forward to 2020 I'm personally reducing my holdings (I'm quite invested) so I want to get a bit more in cash. Obviously I'm not trying to time the market but I'm more reducing my positions so I am not over leveraged in the market.

How do you see the Outlook for 2020? Will we continue this insane bull run? Will it be flat? Will we have a recession? Obviously nobody knows but I'm curious to see what everyone is planning to do with their portfolios!
