It's easy to get wrapped up the the day to day stress and/or panic, but just think of how your business is doing now vs last year, and what personal growth you had to undergo to get this far!

    .Com Or .Ca Domain?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 02:08 PM PST

    Hello all,

I am planning on starting a subscription box with Canadian made goods inside the box. I am wondering if it is better to have a .com or .ca domain, being that the goods are Canadian made, but will be sold worldwide. Will a consumer in another country such as the United States prefer seeing a .ca domain because the goods are sourced in Canada, or would a .com domain be better because it is the most widely used across the world? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Creating a merch website

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 01:40 PM PST

Hello, I am in contact with a relatively new musician who is gaining a lot of new fans, currently around 30k followers on Instagram. I told him I would work with him to create a merch store using shopify and would set everything up for him. I am not sure what to charge for the setup or what I would charge as a royalty percentage for each sale. I'm not sure where to find these prices, I did a little bit of googling and came up with little information. If anyone can help me out on prices and what to charge him I would greatly appreciate it!

I have realized that I need a co-founder, and I regret that I have not decided to look for him before.

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 01:14 PM PST

It was a long time ago - I suddenly came up with an idea, not even an idea, but a solution - how to recognize that a person feels what they want. Remembering this moment, it still brings back an amazing delight. But time passed - the idea slowly turned into a startup. A team appeared. Even a designer. But then many people left and only those who believe and want to continue.

As a founder, I believed that I could do anything - design, marketing, programming, and of course, my own algorithm. But my mistake was that I took on a lot of tasks, and some of them - I had no idea at all.

Now I'm going to correct the error - to find the co-founder.

My startup is a technology for recognizing a person's behavior and mood. We are approaching the end of the demo. It's going to be like Tinder, just for food.

Maybe when the co-founder comes along, we'll find the money. We haven't found or couldn't find the money yet, which is bad. It's bad because without money it's a long time to do it. But this is another story...

Looking for someone who can and wants to develop an amazing startup with a unique technology - toolhoo.com

    Write to DM.

Entrepreneurs, how many active email addresses do you use?

Question for entrepreneurs here on Reddit: what is your #1 problem or frustration that keeps you up at night... so bad you cannot sleep?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 12:21 PM PST

For me, it's how to I keep my steady income going and lower my churn rate (i.e. subscribers who cancel their subscription to my stuff).

I am curious - what is the #1 problem or frustration that keeps you up at night?

Your book suggestions for a 14 year old who is showing entrepreneurial flair.

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 07:59 AM PST

My nephew wants to develop a product related to hockey and for Christmas I would like to get him a book / some books about starting your own company. It's not so much a "this is how it's done" but rather a helpful guide of "here's some things you need to think about / consider". Any suggestions are welcome, and thank you!

Let’s start a growth competition. Starting Today

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 11:30 AM PST

    Hello,

My name is Garrett, 26 year old male from the US. I've dabbled in a few different entrepreneurial adventures over the last six years ranging from local treasure hunts, Amazon FBA product lines, a carpet cleaning business and a few others. Mostly successful for the short life they all lived (6-18 month ventures) but I just lost interest over time as they weren't something I really loved.

Over these last few years I've learned so much and have realized how important social media is and the content you upload to it. But the challenge that comes is continuing to build on the growth that comes. I've grown a couple instagram pages that were getting 750,000 impressions week over week and it was the most exciting process i've done in regards to entrepreneurship and i'm ready for my next adventure.

I want to start a competition starting today, December 8th, 2019 to see who can create a channel/channels on social media and see who can grow it the biggest and fastest by January 1st, 2020. And I want to be able to offer all of the knowledge that I've learned, as well as learn from those who also wish to participate. No experience necessary, just cold hard digital work.

I've created a Slack page to meet, introduce yourself, and start posting your new social media handle/handles. Here's the link to join:

    https://join.slack.com/t/socialmediagr-vs45465/shared_invite/enQtODY0NjQxOTA0Mzg0LTkwNTljZjgwY2UyYjJjZGJjMDhmNWMyNjA1YmU3MGE0Y2MwMmZkMjEwYjhjMGVmYzljZWRiNzkxMzkzNDlhYzk

To add a little bit of interest and to be held somewhat accountable so you don't just stop, I'm putting $20 in a community prize pool for the person with the greatest growth over these next few weeks measured by analytics available on Tik Tok, YouTube, and Instagram (The three platforms I'll be focusing on). If you want, you're welcome to match that $20 and the winner will get the max sum at the end. This is not necessary to participate, but makes it a little more exciting.

Let's all help ourselves and learn a little bit, and setup the new year for something great.

See you on the Slack page,

    Garrett

Thinking of starting a brand, is it worth it?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 11:16 AM PST

High school student / future entrepreneur here. Some quick background I'm 17 and plan to go into business/ real estate/ entrepreneurial stuff / stocks or something along those lines. I've been reading some news, watching some videos, and I'm currently reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, but I'm still pretty new to this stuff and I'm not even sure I'm on the right thread for this, but I'm in the Future Business Leaders of America club at school(entrepreneurship club) and we were discussing last weeks what ways we can make money and do some startups. I don't want to give away my copyright just yet but I have a small phrase that I just started saying a few months ago and my friends and I brainstormed putting it onto a shirt, and were in the very early stages of planning to make a brand. I know the odds are against me, and that there's a few kids at school that have self acclaimed clothing brands where you'll see a person or two wearing it, but nothing big, but I want to learn from this some how and just see where it can go as I know right now is the best time for me to experiment ideas like this. So is there any hope in me doing this? Should I pursue it? What should I know? Etc. also any advice anyone who has been with this stuff for a while can offer would be very much appreciated, and I probably wasn't completely thorough with my story so I'm open to answering questions for clarification too, thanks!

    Feasibility question.

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 05:50 AM PST

Sorry if this isnt the right sub

There is an area in my town (UK) that has a really high footfall, lots of bars and pubs and a fair bit of recreational drug use.

There is no cash point within a 10 minute walk of this area.

Is it possible to privately fit a cash in this location? If so how could I do it?

I am selling my Print On Demand store (Etsy + Amazon + Redbubble + Society6) Business

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 12:08 PM PST

Hello, I am selling my Print On Demand Stores. Well, the listings since I can't transfer the accounts directly (taxes + SSN)

Here's some of the main details: https://imgur.com/a/VySBylv

I actually own 2 different stores, I have already sold one of them so I am looking to sell my second one.

I started a new job a few months ago that pays me waaay more than it's worth dealing with customers on a daily basis.

It generates about 1500$ net profit a month so I'm asking for about 3000$ negotiable. Paypal preferred.

Has anyone here used MAKO Design + Invent services?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 08:17 AM PST

How did it go? What is your experience with them? Is it worth using them for either a handheld tool and for someone who has never invented an item from scratch? What does such a service typically cost, and don't worry I understand how vastly different any different product could cost to design and manufacture.

    Business Plan Document

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 08:14 AM PST

    Hello all,

My wife and I are thinking of opening a cafe style restaurant and we are spending a lot of time on our business plan. How important is this document pertaining this type of business? I would think that spending extra time on your budget and projections would be more beneficial than the entirety of the business plan. We know what we want to do - like most restaurants.

Also, we are putting a lot down and not asking for a large loan as well.

    Thank you for your time.

    Best influencer outreach incentive

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 07:36 AM PST

    Hey guys,

Working on a product right now that I want to leverage high profile influencers with. I feel micro influencers is easy. Invite them to an ambassador program, give them free product and a cut of sales.

However, high profile influencers are harder. I'd like to standardise my outreach approach, and obviously you can't give every high profile investor equity in your company.

So what's the best method? Is it a straight up cost per post? Is there other ways to incentivise them?

What is your go-to framework to find out what you have in hand?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 07:20 AM PST

    Hi all,

I know this might be different post but i'm struggling with this question. What do i have to offer?

I'm someone who believes, with a roadmap everything can be done by everyone if circumstances met.

This perspective gives me headaches. I can't change it.

I need help to understand this.

For example; i'm an industrial engineer. I have experience in ecomms but not that much and i know that i actually don't like to do everyday tasks. I know i want everything to be automized but i'm not a developer. I'm learning python, etc. but i know i'm not that bright to understand these and develop something on my own.

The thing is this for me; now i'm trying to get a job to feel usefull and matter. After i get back up on my feet i want to bring to life the ideas i think every other day which might be profitable. Of course i need to understand how to acquire teammates to build something good.

    TL:DR

Don't know what i can do but know i can do something(s). Help me figure out ?

When hiring a virtual assistant, how do you track and make sure they are charging you accordingly?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 06:44 AM PST

Hiring virtual assistants around the $5 range. So let's say I assign a task that only requires an hour of work. They finish at the one hour mark, but lie and claim it took two hours to finish. How do I prevent this from happening? Is there any way to track their productivity?

    Scaling a self funded company?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 03:39 PM PST

Is it possible to create a company and scale it to become very large out of your own money? Theoretically is it possible, if someone had a million or more saved up, won it on the lotto or whatever?

And would that make you the sole owner, sharing nothing with anyone and you being the only shareholder +founder and the CEO?

Every company has several investors, shareholders so I was wondering is that the rule, it must have multiple shareholders?

Or is it just the fact that people who are able to fund their company by themselves are rare because very little amount of people have that kind of money?

I am not aware of this, as I am running a design and brand strategy business on my own, and I haven't yet reached the level of running a real company, but I am curious about it.

Also fuck whoever downvoted me for asking a simple question. I thought that was the whole point of having a subreddit and a community in the first place.
