Costco stock slips with revenue shy of Street view Posted: 03 Oct 2019 01:49 PM PDT https://www.marketwatch.com/story/costco-stock-slips-with-revenue-shy-of-street-view-2019-10-03 Costco Wholesale Corp. COST+1.36% shares slipped in the extended session Thursday after the warehouse club's revenue fell just short of the Wall Street consensus. What are some good investing books that are Irish/euro focused? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 11:39 AM PDT I've been reading the complete idiot's guide to investing but it's for American financial systems. I'm looking for a guide preferably for Ireland or general Europe. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:04 AM PDT How low will it go? Are you buying 3M now or waiting for certain price? Will 3M get up to $200 in 2020? [link] [comments] |
What's going on with 3m's EPS? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:27 PM PDT It just keeps getting lower and lower every quarter, even if revenue doesn't go down. Is this a really bad sign? Or are is their EPS just lower than usual because of something else going on? [link] [comments] |
Why EV Battery Design Is So Difficult Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:51 AM PDT By Ann Steffora Mutschler of Semiconductor Engineering This is an interesting article on the challenges faced by the EV industry when it comes to battery design and functionality: https://semiengineering.com/why-ev-battery-design-is-so-difficult/ Separately but relevant to above article: KULR Technology (OTCQB: KULR) is currently working with global automaker(s) to improve overall battery design, functionality, and safety of next-gen electric vehicles with it's NASA utilized carbon fiber based heat sinks. Do you really like your stock brokerage to become 0 commission? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 04:47 AM PDT Honestly, I don't. The reason is that, if the product they are offering are free. Eventually, I will become their product
I rather they just take my commission since they are getting the job done. Although they still can do some hanky panky thing around my data, at least a fair paid commission, will discourage them from doing so. [link] [comments] |

Non-Resident Alien Advice Request - Is it wise to buy US located ETFs/stocks? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:45 AM PDT I live in Brazil and already have a pretty good position on the stock market here, and I'm looking to invest in the US market to reduce my "Brazil risk" so to speak. I'm still reading about how to do that wisely, and I have some questions. From what I see, there is a withholding tax of 30% on dividends for NRA investors from a country without a tax treaty (which I think is the case with Brazil), is that correct? Is that tax handled directly by the Broker or I need to do something about it? Here in Brazil, most ETFs (if not all) reinvest the dividends, is that the same for US ETFs? Or are the dividends distributed (I'm looking mostly to Vanguard ETFs if that is important)? If they are reinvested I suppose there is no withholding tax, correct? What about capital gains, are those taxed for NRA investors? Is it the same withholding tax? For ETFs most time I see people saying to just open an IB account and invest solely on Ireland based ETFs that track the US market, is that the recommended approach? I really would like to do stock picking on some companies I believe, but still have most of my portfolio in a few ETFs. I have no current plans to invest in REITs because of that withholding tax. Keep in mind that all of this is for the long term, something like 30 years or more. [link] [comments] |

Tools to find line of best fit for peaks, troughs and avg over x amount of time? Posted: 02 Oct 2019 09:09 PM PDT Does anyone know of an inexpensive (or preferably free) tool that does this? Lately I've been doing it manually and using Desmos to save my data. There are some other data values I've been using but those aren't quite as important as long as I have the 3 lines of best fit. Here's an example for $MSFT. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
