Google just launched a very similar product to our application, should we continue with our app? Posted: 04 Oct 2019 10:23 AM PDT Hey everyone, a question: We have launched our application 4 months ago, but today we've discovered that Google launched a very similar product a few days ago. And now we are in doubt - should we continue with our app or should we start thinking about another idea? WDYT? More details: Some points that we've identified so far: - Our app is not limited to Google Slides - with our app, you don't have to install anything and you can launch a presentation directly from a phone or tablet, not only from the laptop, you can make the presentation even without a projector - our app shows slide on the viewer's device and thus keep the user's focus on presentation constantly - our app has an audio stream and slide sync to support remote presentations - our app records presentation in the background while a presenter is presenting and will allow to publish it to presenter's channel Thanks! Posted: 04 Oct 2019 08:16 PM PDT What is it like to work in a startups? I don't have any job experience and I am 24 and don't have a college degree. But I really want to join startup. I am scared that I am not qualified. I am current self studying about web development. I am learning computing from online resources at my own pace. I don' t have a clear picture about the types of problems I will have learn to overcome if I work in a startup. I really do want to gain experience. In the local tech (I live near Washington DC) meetups their are people who briefly talk about recruitment into their startup. Are their different levels of startups? What are your experiences working in different startups? What are thing I can do that can prepare me for working in a startup. [link] [comments] |
How long is too long for a phone interview (customer development)? Posted: 04 Oct 2019 05:17 PM PDT Just made the outline of my customer development interview. It has about 20 questions. Some of the questions should only take a few seconds to answer, while others may take a couple minutes. I'm estimating the interview would be around 30min. Is that too long? [P.S. I'm interviewing restaurant owners] [link] [comments] |
What to include? - backend/database Web development contract Posted: 04 Oct 2019 11:54 AM PDT Im hiring a SQL Database specialist who will be working on our DB as well as formatting/appending large amounts of data from multiple data sources. I was wondering what should I include in the agreement to protect ourselves from data theft or any future issues (as I know there may be things I haven't thought of). If anyone has a link to an agreement to use (that's not on a website for developers - where the contract would most likely be scripted for their advantage). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Oct 2019 01:42 PM PDT Hello all, We will be launching a company in the near future that will contract with designers for apparel design. We will provide commission based payouts based on the amount of apparel that sells. Does anyone have any recommendations as to a good way to set up a contract between our company and the designers? What if the designers are outside of the USA? How would that impact the contracting process? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Scaling the SaaS Side of a B2C Company Posted: 04 Oct 2019 09:40 AM PDT I spent the past 2 years making a B2C app in the food space, and it's finally starting to gain traction. I recently realized that the core technology that powers the B2C app has serious B2B potential, but I'm a little lost on how to enter this space. My plan is to use B2B API sales to fund marketing and reach scale with the App (I will only make real money off of the B2C app at scale). Have any of you had experience with the dual-sided software business model? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Oct 2019 05:33 AM PDT Hello, We are kicking the can on developing an employee plan that includes Performance Stock Units. I've done homework on some of the ins and outs but would like to see a sample agreement of one if anyone has seen or has access to one. Thanks in advance for any and all help! [link] [comments] |
