Having a hard time with this email... please help! Posted: 25 Aug 2019 05:29 PM PDT This is an email I'm writing to a company I job shadowed at my junior year. I'm hoping to figure out when and how I will be able to work here in any capacity (minimum wage is fine) I hope to work as a Project Manager at some point but these jobs generally require PMI certifications and lots of experience (which I need to get). I would be a secretary for these guys but they currently have openings for a front end software developer and Junior Project Manager. If I could I would intern but I am currently working full time and starting online school fulltime (flexible hours). I job shadowed for them when I was a junior in high school I am now a freshman in college. Hi **company, First of all, I thank you for taking the time to read my email as I know your job is very busy so I'll try and be brief. During my Junior Year of High School I reached out to **HR/Payroll Manager and asked to set up a job shadow with **Chief Project Manager at **company. When I emailed **HR/Payroll Manager I had no idea how significant that Job Shadow would be and how much information I would take away. Today I am enrolling in an online associate degree program and continuing to pursue Project Management as a career. I wanted to ask if it would be possible to sit down with someone and discuss my interest in any opportunities you may have to build my experience in project management. \*this is where I need most help* [link] [comments] |
Own Business or Dad’s Business Posted: 25 Aug 2019 07:26 PM PDT I'm a 17 year old boy who is currently running my own business on Instagram. The business is not that big and is more like a start-up. But, it has a global audience and is running quite good. As I am on a break and will be going to college in Jan 2020, I thought that this was what I could do to learn for the future and prep myself early for being an entrepreneur later. However, I also had the option of joining my dad's business and working for him during the break. I know that I will also earn more than my current business because he runs a very big company. I am quite confused as to what will provide me better experience and learning: my own business or dad's. I want to know what will benefit my future more. On one side, I am learning everything on my own while on the other side, my dad's experience can teach me a lot. Please help me, so I know what I can do. [link] [comments] |
A Step by Step Guide to Start an eBay Business in 2019 Posted: 26 Aug 2019 12:40 AM PDT E-commerce has taken the business industry by the storm, and there is no stopping it; it is only increasing day by day. The numbers from 2017 show approximately $2.3 trillion in sales through e-commerce, and another report shows sales to hit $4.6 billion. Over the years, e-commerce has evolved; eBay, Amazon, Shopify, and PayPal are there to stay. No matter the name of the platform, the foundation of e-commerce is rock solid, so now is the best time to open up an online store and run an online business. One of the well-reputed and most notable e-commerce platforms is eBay, to date this platform has more than 182 million buyers. A report shows that this year's second quarter was profitable for eBay as an average there were approximately 1.8 billion site visits. Does it not make eBay a great start towards a stable e-commerce career? Though eBay considers its sellers' and buyers' convenience as its priority, still starting a business on eBay demands skills, planning, determination, and the right information. So if you have a knack for the antiquates, passionate about the 60s to 80s rock vinyl and want to share the art with the world, then you can make a decent living by running an eBay store. With the right information, you can build an empire. [link] [comments] |

I Need Some Advices On How To Expand My Business Overseas Posted: 25 Aug 2019 09:14 PM PDT Context: I'm running a Web Design and Development Agency in Vietnam ( We don't just do normal Website design, we also do things like Web App, Data Management Software, etc hence the Development part ). Currently, we mainly work with domestic customers. We also take outsourcing work for other agencies in our countries. I'm trying to expand our business to developed countries like the US, Europe, etc dues to the fact that the rate we take is obviously much lower than working with a team in a developed countries ( of course with various pros and cons ) and we provide service with comparable qualities. To address the various problems associate with working with an Agency overseas, I make sure the following: - We are fluent in English therefore no language barrier - We work to match our clients time no matter where they are in the world so no timezone barrier ( we have a big team so we rotate our work ) - We did our research and asked for advices of many agencies overseas to understand our customers and avoid making common mistakes - We make sure to let them know we did the above - Our rate is competitive, always below half that of Agency is our targeted market I've contacted and got contacted by clients, mostly agencies that want to outsource their work to us, but I haven't gotten a single successful deal. And I got no answers also, most just drop the conversation midway. Am I doing something wrong? Or is our advantages actually not that good as I have initially thought? I would love to hear from you guys, especially those that has experience outsourcing to overseas partners or outsourced their own work to an overseas contractor. Thanks for reading, I wish you all a great work week :) [link] [comments] |

What am I getting myself into? Posted: 25 Aug 2019 04:42 PM PDT So I just came from a meeting with family members where they proposed bringing me into their attempt at "Manufactured Spending." I say attempt because I'm new to all this so I wouldn't know for sure either way but that's how they started the conversation. They went on to explain, they're going for some LLC thing and need me to open 3 bank accounts and they would place their own money in each. Each account would be for a business they purchase and they would use the money as investment. And after some months, they would give a percentage of what they earn from their investing to me. No risk involved, as they explained it. They needed my credit score, picture of my ID and SS, would need to do my taxes with their people, and of course open those bank accounts. So my question is, where am I liable here for? What's the worst/best case scenario for my situation if I went through with it? They don't want any of my money, just my info and the bank accounts. And yes, I do trust these family members. They just had a baby and it would seem off to me for two new parents to risk things within or around them with a 3 month old in tow. One is a sibling of mines. They already have a picture of my ID but now I've been hit with hesitation concerning the rest, wondering what could result of me. Not sure if this is the right place for this but I shoot my shots. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Aug 2019 07:25 AM PDT I'm not 100% sure if this is the appropriate sub, but the rules don't specify this isn't allowed I was wondering if it were worth it to advertise a pool cleaning business through college. I understand there are steps to take before cleaning a pool, such as learning to do so, but if I were to learn, would it be a worthy investment of my time and energy? Thank you to any and all responses. I just need some info on if this "business" would be a worthwhile one, especially for a young man. [link] [comments] |
