A simple question about company ownership (I'm really confused about some concept. please help!) Posted: 04 Aug 2019 01:07 AM PDT okay so I have 3 questions. #1: if I found a tutoring service business all alone without anyone involved and by using only my own money and make it grow, and then somebody asks to buy 50% of that business entity, is that business entity 'before it's sold' a company or a 'sole proprietor' or both? I think it's a sole proprietor, not a company because I did everything by using my own money. am I right or wrong? #2: Shark Tank show investors want to buy 50% of my the tutoring service business for $10K. Is that $10K my personal money because I sold 50% of my sole proprietorship ownership? OR does that 10K belong to the sole proprietorship business? #3: if I buy a tiny share of Apple Inc's stock and then sell it for $1000, that $1000 is completely my own personal money that I can use for whatever I want right? then with the same token, if a member of a company sells his 10% share of the company's equity to someone else for $100K, is that $100K completely his own personal money or does that money have to be used for growing the corporate business? Posted: 03 Aug 2019 12:57 PM PDT Who wants a landing page, sales letter or email marketing campaign written for them without spending a cent? What you're about to read is a little crazy but I'm a fresh and ambitious copywriter who can help your business. I'm well-equipped in my craft and have proven records sitting in my portfolio. I love writing copy. I love writing powerful words that motivate people to become customers. I idolize famous copywriters and marketers. And guess what? They all worked for free. Why am I doing this? To become a bad-ass freelance copywriter. So what's this mean for you? Well, it means that I'm writing FREE LANDING PAGES, SALES LETTERS and EMAIL MARKETING CAMPAIGNS for just a tiny handful of people that respond to this. (Seriously, like two or three people) What you get: Consultation with me about what you want me to write and your market A free landing page, sales letter, squeeze page, opt-in, emails, etc. Better conversions, not "creative writing" I'm looking to help the "little guy" first who just started and has no idea about copy, sales, writing, etc.. This is a no-bullshit offer. You have two choices... Option 1: Ignore this. But you're a sensible business owner so you'll go with... Option 2: Send me a message. We chat a bit. You fill me in on your market. I research the hell out of it. I write you an awesome landing page, sales letter or email marketing campaign. You use it. It crushes. You pay me nothing. We go our separate ways. We become lifelong friends and associates. Doesn't matter to me. So shoot me a message on Reddit and let's get started. How long do you think free copywriting is going to be available? P.S. Upvote if you think people who are willing to work for nothing to improve and help others are heading in the right direction. Lead Management Software - Tourism Posted: 03 Aug 2019 05:42 PM PDT I operate a tourism business that receives many free text email enquiries (gmail). Requests are commonly "I'm coming to [CITY] on [DATE] and want to see [PLACE A] and [PLACE B]. Please provide a quote" Can anyone recommend a system which integrates with gmail to manage such requests: records their receipt, can be assigned to a user to action, provides follow up prompts if users don't respond and allows us to track conversion rates? Wasting HR Time on New Time Sheets Program Posted: 03 Aug 2019 03:21 PM PDT Greetings, I just had a question for anyone out there who runs a business with many employees, or anybody who might know about these apps that employees must use in order to log their time for payroll. My company was using a system called "TSheets" for a while. The system worked fine. But this year, we've switched to a system called "Foundation" and the reasoning is that the company saved money by switching over to the new system. However, from what I've seen, the two women in HR now spend around 20% of their time at work messing with this new system - when they spent virtually no time on the old system. Due to the lag of the new system, individual workers also spend 5-10 minutes messing with the new app each day (a lot of time when you're talking about 50 employees doing this. It adds up to 250-500 minutes of production time PER DAY lost. THat amounts to $166.67 per day. Assuming That's at a rate of 5 days per week, 50 weeks per year... $41,66.67 annual cost ) when all they USED to have to do is hit the "clock-in" button when they arrive to work, and click the "clock-out" button when they leave. Assuming that the two HR women get paid ~60,000/year and 20% of their time is spent on managing this new "cheaper" system, we're looking at an annual cost of $24,000. However, from THEIR perspective: On paper, HR is a pre-determined cost. As in, it would've cost money to have those women sit at their desk no matter what. So according to their version of reality, their management of this new system costs the company nothing. They also fail to look at the $41,666.67 cost of workers wasting time fiddling with the app each day. Now, tell me, WHAT is the price difference for 50 employees using Tsheets versus Foundation? DOES the cost difference really justify $24,000 worth of "higher-ups" time maintaining and fixing the new system, PLUS ~$40k worth of workers' time lost? [link] [comments] |
Do you believe that college is a waste of time and money? Posted: 03 Aug 2019 10:46 AM PDT There are a lot of big companies that are starting to see college is a huge waste of time when it comes to recruiting employees. Some feel that there is no point in hiring someone when they still have to train them. These big companies are deciding to start their own "colleges" campuses and just spend 6 months to a year training the employees. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |
