Competitor trying to sabotage our business

    Posted: 10 Jul 2019 01:10 AM PDT

We have very good reason to believe our only direct competitor in a market is attempting to sabotage our business. They have had their friends hire us to do work, claim we have done damage that is hard to prove we did not and then file complaints with our governing agency in attempts to shut us down. They have also made false claims about how we are conducting our business on social media, also hard to prove we are not doing what they say we are, and sent us threatening letters from their corporate lawyers. We are a local small business, they are a large multi million dollar franchise run by a local. What do we do?

Health and Fitness Android App Founder - Trying to find a way to make profit

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 11:43 AM PDT

I'm Fitness Professional with more than 8 years in the field. As someone who was always interested in entrepreneurship, I found my niche in the Fitness and Health Android App world.

My Application is growing really good, more than 13k users in 6 months (all organic, 0 invested in marketing). Users are mostly coming from USA. App is focused on correcting bad posture and it's successful in it, I received great feedback from users.

Now, we are coming to my problems, it's a free App, it's not making me any money. As someone who is coming from Serbia it's not possible for me to have any in-app purchasing or subscription model.

My idea is to add some products in the App (home page and push notifications) and to sell it to users. Some of the products that I could sell are Pain Relief Creams / Posture Correctors / Insoles / Pillows / Mattresses etc.

It's also hard to sell product in the App because shipping is too expensive from here.

Maybe to start some cooperation with other business on Amazon and to take commission on sales? Is that even possible?

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Thank you for reading.

I understand if you are reading this and thought, "why the heck is this random dude trying to start a business from Reddit". I have seen a lot of intelligent minds on Reddit and am wanting to start a business because I would like to improve my financial situation. I'm willing to start up a simple selling, buying company and then develop it into something else. I would love to get help and we can split profits. Thank you so much and I hope I don't sound idiotic posting it on Reddit or for any other reason that is completely obvious.

Selling Business but pretty sure my father is up to some sketchy stuff

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 04:35 PM PDT

So I've been running a bodega in a building that my father owns for roughly 7 years, the first 4, along side my brother, who left cause he couldn't deal anymore, so it was just me and my father. With him leaving they put the business under my name. For the entirety the store has not been generating money and was actually losing more than gaining. Fast forward to today and my father tells me this is my last week and to plan for a vehicle to purchase before all is said and done. Not to get into it, but the last 7 years have been pretty painful and I'm looking forward to getting out of here finally. Why didn't I leave a failing business and choose to put it under my name? Can't turn your back on family right? Needless to say my father hasn't been making the best business decisions lately, and worse, putting his trust into people who royally fucked him, that he and all of us are still paying for to this day. So, for the last couple weeks we had a sign up saying business for sale and someone came by and started talking to my father. About a week after that my father let me know the news and that guy showed up and immediately started making plans on what he wants to do in the store, already calling people in to take measurements on the windows, getting lottery in the store etc. The guy is talking like that sale is a done deal and Monday he'll be running things officially. I don't know if he already paid my father something or what, but I haven't signed anything and I don't know what's going on. Also it seems like he doesn't know the store is under my name, think my father left that part out. How should I proceed, I'm going to talk to the people who do my taxes tomorrow with my father, they're also the people that got the paperwork together to put the store under my name. What should I ask, can my father be making these deals without having me sign something? How do you even go about selling an LLC, should I consult a lawyer? Thanks if you got this far.
