Outbound Prospecting/Sales Help Needed! Posted: 15 Jun 2019 04:45 AM PDT Hi all. I've got over 10+ years experience with managing Customer Success/Account teams, but my company are embarking on a new acquisition phase, as we've just launched a new Saas product. As a start-up, our next round of investor funding is dependent on us acquiring 500 new B2B customers by the end of this year. Rather than hire a sales team (and have to let them go once we've pushed through the new acquisition phase), we're going to get the current Customer Success team to switch to new acquisition instead. Trouble is, there's only one whose worked in sales before, and whilst I have worked in sales, I've never managed a sales team. So I need to come up with a complete new department - infrastructure, targets, kpis etc. Our primary method will be Cold Calling, on a city-by-city level, attempting to close sales over the phone. These are B2B sales too. I'm looking for some advice, guidance, anything really that might help me and my team. We're all shareholders in our business, so our success is paramount to us all! So scared of the phones my first few months in selling, 3 years later and now I hate emails! Posted: 14 Jun 2019 03:46 PM PDT Emails... used to be an amazing way to cower behind my computer screen and not get rejected on the phone. My boss had to push me to get on the phone. Now it's been 3 years and damn it emailing takes up so much time when the phone is 100x easier, faster, and more fun. Just started making templates for emails that are working well, hopefully it suffices but damn the phone is so much more natural. I thought that was just the old sales guys doing their old guy sales stuff when they said phone is better... I was wrong looking back at it. [link] [comments] |
What’s an average commission % for a SaaS rep? Posted: 15 Jun 2019 11:24 AM PDT I hate posting because most of you are snarky motherfuckers... but let's see how it plays out. What's the average commission for an AE? The situation would be selling to SMBs with anywhere from $5k sale to $50k+ a sale. Is 15-18% standard? I'm planning on paying ~$80k base salary, if that changes anything. And, would an inside sales rep make less of a base and around the same commission? And would a BDR/SDR make a base salary plus a flat rate for leads? Let's see if you animals are able to answer nicely. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Jun 2019 09:07 AM PDT My job is having a special sale on DVDs. They are normally $19.99 a piece, but for this sale they are $9.99 a piece AND buy two, get one free! What's the best way to phrase this to maximize sales? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 06:37 PM PDT Been lurking this page a while and I see so many people happy with their sales jobs. I'm not. Recently the CEO became the sales manager of our company and since then I haven't liked my job. I don't want to say it's because of my manager/CEO, but I'm the 2nd best performing sales person with the most dials and talk time in the company on a monthly basis. I've been made to feel like I'm not doing enough. This company has a high turnover rate and so many other employees(non sales as well), have expressed their discontent with the company and really with the manager/CEO. I'm getting married in Sept. and I don't want to quit right now, but I'll take any wisdom. [link] [comments] |
Suggestions on CRM VoIP service which lets me see notes for the contact who's calling me? Posted: 15 Jun 2019 04:57 AM PDT Really struggling with finding a CRM which has that feature. Most of the CRM VoIP websites are designed so bad though, they need to put up more pictures and videos of their features. I would strongly prefer if it has a free trial too, because the one VoIP service I've tried, had terrible VoIP quality. Half of the leads could barely hear me. So, I don't want to pay for anything until I know it works. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 10:10 PM PDT What have you found to be most mutually beneficial when creating SLA's and KPI's for an inbound bdr team? The director of lead gen and the SVP of sales asked me to revise these two things specifically for the inbound bdr team and I come to consult the ambiguous and oracle that is you the many. Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Sales engineers have still a bad stigma among other engineers not involved in sales roles Posted: 14 Jun 2019 10:05 PM PDT Hi guys. That is what I have experienced on my work as a SE for 12 years. Many of engineers of my company act as if they would hate us. They see us as a some kind of charlatans or hair growth reps that not have any clue in "real engineering" or in what we sell to the customers. The society tries to misrepresent a job in sales, ot does not mind if you sell turnkey solutions for nuclear plants. After finishing my engineering degree I stepped up to a SE role in my first job. At that time my Universitycolleagues laughed somehow at me becouse I chose a sales job. "Why did you employ so many hours in order to finish in a sales position?" The debate is open. Posted: 15 Jun 2019 01:03 AM PDT Haven't seen this posted in here for Salesforce CRM training; has classic and lightning modes. https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/modules Did about 80+hours messing around with it the last couple months and I love it. I think it's the first for Salesforce to have a training platform with modules and quizzes. I'm currently switching from 12 years of warehouse sales account executice to a path of AE at a SaaS company. Start on July first so excited. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jun 2019 01:25 PM PDT I know this sub is bombarded by SaaS Questions but please bear with me I have no experience in tech/software sales. No college degree. I have 2 years experience selling photography packages. I know how to sell. I've heard starting off as a BDR is great to break into SaaS. What can I do to be prepared in an interview and a new career in SaaS? What exactly should I have some basic knowledge about? I want to know the basics of SaaS and then of course go specific with whatever company I work with. I know I can kill it in this career. I'm used to 80+ hour work weeks. I don't mind cold calling. But where should my product knowledge begin and is BDR a good place to start? [link] [comments] |
How to pitch my services to potential customers using social media? Posted: 14 Jun 2019 03:53 PM PDT I'm starting a unique service based business in a niche market. You're looking at a $250 - $5000 price tag per job. I am willing to grind and work hard. What is the best possible way to convert a potential customer to a paying customer online using social media or other routes? [link] [comments] |
