What is onboarding, parental leave, or the promotion process like at a company of 2,000+ employees? Looking for input for a research study.

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 09:45 PM PDT

I'm conducting research on key moments in the employee experience (onboarding, parental leave, promotion, etc.) and could use your input.

I've been having trouble finding people willing to respond/be interviewed so thought I'd try Reddit. If you're an employee at a company of 2,000 employees or more, any thoughts you could provide on the below questions would be appreciated! Or, if you're interested in being interviewed for the study, please DM me! (Goes without saying since this is Reddit, but any quotes or sentiments we use in the final report will only include type of company, company size, and your title.)

    • What is the size and industry of your company? (e.g. Manufacturing, 3500 employees)
    • What is your title/role?
    • Have you had one of the below experiences in the last 2 years? (You can just choose one, or several.)
      • Onboarding (starting a new job)
      • Offboarding (leaving a job)
      • Parental leave (maternity/paternity)
      • Medical leave
      • Promotion
      • Relocation
    • What was your experience with [onboarding/offboarding/leave/promotion/relocation] like?
      • Were you able to access the information you needed? (accessing documents, communicating with managers)
      • What was the technology experience like? (filling out forms, submitting requests, accessing accounts)
    • How did this experience affect the way you view your employer/manager?
    • How did this experience affect your productivity or happiness at work?
    • How long ago did you experience this event?

Thanks so much for your help!

    Business Name conflict.

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 04:48 PM PDT

Hello everyone, I have been thinking of a name for my clothing brand for a while and have finally come up with one after what seems like and endless brainstorm. Unfortunately I have found others with the same name and in the same field of business. One company seems inactive but has a website. The other has about 1000 followers on Instagram and a website also. Does this mean the name is a no go for me? Could I trade mark it and be ok?

I created a website that compares the privacy and security of online services, and I need your help

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 04:43 PM PDT

A little more than a year ago, I made this website that compares the privacy and security of online services. After getting a ton of feedback (especially on Reddit), I have made a lot of changes, and I'm looking for some feedback on the new site.

Anybody is free to use it, so I thought that I would share it here, and see what people think about it. It's called Secured.fyi, which is completely redesigned from the ground up, it took me a lot of time to do that.

Looking forward to hearing what you think.

    Selling idea to a company

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 06:33 PM PDT

How would I approach selling my idea to a company. Let's say it is software and I have a functioning prototype; how would I sell it to them without them stealing it. Would this even be possible?

Why Have Offices in High COL? (nYC/SanFran)

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 04:02 PM PDT

The office rentals are expenses AF, and let's be real, labor is easy to get anywhere.

Additionally, the salaries are ridiculously high. It just doesn't make sense to me besides short term tax benefits and negotiations.
