Twice a year, those who get paid every other Friday have a month where they receive 3 paychecks instead of the usual 2. This is that month and today is that day.

One of my favorite days of the year.

FINRA regulatory action against firm

A small advisory firm that I'm considering applying to (largely HNW clients & a few smaller institutional accounts) had the following SEC Cease and Desist in 2013;

They ended up paying back clients around $300k in overcharges & paying a <$100k civil fine to the SEC. It's hard for me to guage whether or not these are more "regular" FINRA violations that can occur with small firms or whether it's a sign of something bigger. Is this something I should be concerned about associating myself with? No recent arbitration proceedings, a few older ones that were settled for a few thousands dollars each.

Additionally; they've since ceased being a broker and are simply an advisor with a clearing firm. Does that mean a trader at this advisor would retain FINRA licenses? These are elementary questions I should really know the answer to, but thanks in advance.
