What's your follow up process like? Posted: 15 Apr 2019 06:49 AM PDT I'll email and call, wait a day or 2 send another email. Wait another day or so text and call and so on. [link] [comments] |
Here's to a day of chatting about Game of Thrones on our calls! Posted: 15 Apr 2019 07:57 AM PDT Typically the cliche trope rapport building stuff rubs me the wrong way - but since everyone and their mother watches and I'm a pretty big fan myself - I love GOT season. Beats talking about sports and the weather. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Apr 2019 11:00 AM PDT This is something I've been struggling with, coming up with a good subject line that isn't cheesy. I'm mostly having a tough time coming up with ones with companies I'm cold emailing and ones where I'm checking in. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
For US residents: how easy would it be for a foreigner to land a sales job? Posted: 15 Apr 2019 03:57 AM PDT Hi there, I am carefully monitoring this sub for a few months now. I have been an (unsuccessful) export salesman in my young years and decided to pick up studies again. Wrong choice, I don't know, but I really want to become good at sales, and now that I am more mature and consistant, I am learning and ready to practice. I consider US (and other countries) for moving and landing a sales job, entry position, and scratch my ass off to perform well and learn. So my question is, how hard (or easy) would it be for a European, with a little sales experience, who already worked as an intern for a few months in the US, to find an entry-level job in sales in the US? Would companies be willing to take the "risk" that is to hire a non-American to represent themselves to others? [link] [comments] |
Really bad sales script for my first sales job? If so, how could it be improved? Posted: 15 Apr 2019 11:16 AM PDT Hi, I just got my first sales job. Its at a new and small company and they are selling renewable energy for a bigger company. They only offer $50 for each sale. I know its probably not the best deal for me but I will take it until I find something better if it doesn't go well here. My question is what do you think about the script? How could it be improved? I don't feel like it's any good. It feels like the prospects don't really know what I'm offering until late, it also feels a bit deceiving, and there's no real strong emotional benefit for them to change electricity provider in the script. Can't i get straight to the point and explain that I'm calling from a renewable energy company and I'm wondering if they would be interested in supporting a better environment while lowering their electricity bills with an average of 30% at the same time? ........................................... INTRODUCTION Hi, my name is _____ Am I speaking with _____? I'm calling from Company and its regarding the changes that's happening with the electricity in your city. Is it correct that your written on the electricity contract on this adress? CAPTURE INTEREST Regarding the changes on the electricity, is it something you know anything about since before? It's like this, that the city is now aiming to use only renewable energy in your area. So it's going to be 100% renewable energy. PRESENTATION Since we are doing this for you we are removing all the unnecessary prices, so you will get electricity to the buying price only. That means a lower electricity bill in your home. Is it correct that your living on this zip code adress? A little bit harder question. Do you know how much you pay per kWh today? From what I can see the average kWh price in your area is __. But now you will get it at __ which means almost 30% decrease. Like we said before, you will use the same electricity cable provider, its only that the energy will come from 100% renewable energy instead. SUMMARY By this you will get your energy from Company. There is no changes for you. It doesn't affect anything and you will be able to turn the lights on and off as regular and the lights will shine as bright as before. [link] [comments] |
What are the top 3 books i should read as beginner? Posted: 14 Apr 2019 02:24 PM PDT Hi I want to spend one month to learn the basics about sales. What books i need to read and is there an online course that is worth it to buy? I am also looking for some names of sales coaches, who are the big names on this niche? Thanks for your time and i wish you all the best. [link] [comments] |
Had two job offers 3 months ago... Posted: 15 Apr 2019 11:06 AM PDT So, three months ago I had two job offers at two companies. One of the offers was for an SDR at a LMS company and the other job was at a large Telco in small business solution sales. I ended up taking the SBS job at the telco, because the OTE were $80,000yr and because the Telco has a big name that everyone in Canada is familiar with, and I thought It might be a good idea to get that name on my resume. After being at the Telco for 3 months I realize that the job is nothing that it was made up to be by the sales director. I feel that he lied to me multiple times regarding the job. When I started the job I didn't have a manager for 2 months and was having to figure everything out on my own. Now I have a manager and he doesnt know what he's doing either. the department is an absolute disaster, and is very disorganized. they keep changing my role from outside to inside sales. I also feel that the job is a churn and burn role despite the job being an entry level role with 0-1 sales experience. I've have had next to no training here either. Today, the LMS company I turned down 3 months ago posted a job looking for an SDR. I was thinking about contacting the SDR manager and seeing if he'd still be interested in bringing me own. Are the reason's Ive mentioned above solid reasons for wanting to leave the telco for when the SDR manager asks me why I want to leave. I know not to be negative and talk badly about the telco, but there's just nothing really positive I can say about this experience thus far at this company. [link] [comments] |
What Has Been Your Favorite Sales Job? I Want to Figure Out My Next Move. Posted: 15 Apr 2019 05:51 AM PDT For the past year I've sold for an indirect Verizon retail store. I gotta say, sales is the funnest 'game' I've ever played. However, I've got a degree (BA Applied Economics) and I'm looking to make more money at a new job. I've recently found this community and I see people making some serious dough. So hopefully I get some insight on what my next move should be. Looking around I see people talk about SDR/BDR, SaaS, and Tech Sales. (If your work relates to this, please share what it's like and what to expect). If you work sales I'd like to know what you do/sell and would you recommend it to someone like myself? (1yr experience, solid performer). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Apr 2019 09:30 AM PDT Hi sales community! What is sales engagement in IT? How does the process looks like in IT outsourcing? Does any one has some related material about sales engagement? (Preferebly in IT) [link] [comments] |
How can I improve my B2B sales Posted: 15 Apr 2019 04:39 AM PDT I am currently running my own marketing agency. In the beginning getting new clients was going pretty smooth. As of recent I have got more trouble with gaining them. I mostly cold call businesses to get a meeting with the decision maker. Usually the meeting goes over very well but after that it just kinda stalls. Anyone got any ideas on how to improve this situation? [link] [comments] |
Lead Generation / List Building Posted: 15 Apr 2019 07:43 AM PDT Does anyone know of a service/company that I can pay to build lead lists for me? I'm running a political advertising firm and would be looking to pay a company to build a list of political candidates from the municipal level to the presidential level (city council, supervisor, county commissioner, SH, Congress, Senate, etc). List would have to include election dates, name, office for election and contact info. If anyone has an idea, please let me know! Thanks, [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to do honest sales online? Posted: 14 Apr 2019 08:00 PM PDT I'm tired of people trying to sell me stuff and me trying to sell them stuff. There's no trust there. With the internet and social media I feel like it's hard to trust a company without actually talking to a real person. How do you sell online and still create honest and trusting relationships? Higher paying transactional sales? Posted: 15 Apr 2019 07:16 AM PDT So I took the step in SaaS sales and I'm an SDR. It's probably too early to judge but from what I'm doing and what I see the reps doing I'm not so sure I like the slow pace and soft approach as much as I thought I would. Which based on this sub seems to be the way most SaaS is done. Does anyone know of any industries that are a little more transactional? [link] [comments] |
Sales careers/companies with a decent base salary? For new college graduates Posted: 15 Apr 2019 07:06 AM PDT I'm looking for positions that are strictly sales, like B2B at a large company, that earn a solid base salary, meaning around 30-40k plus commission. I'm looking for entry level roles straight out or college. Has anyone experienced this? [link] [comments] |

What is a good career change from four years experience in selling complex software solutions? Posted: 15 Apr 2019 12:54 AM PDT Considering to evaluate all my options here. The main goal is to remain working with people - I enjoy the strategic preparation as well as the execution part. I've had good figures all through my career so far (I am a young professional, did well at my job straight from the uni), but I am getting curious where else could "complex solution selling skills" thrive. Did anybody here change industries dramatically - e.g. to finance, manufacturing etc.? How was it and why did you do it? [link] [comments] |

Career fair tomorrow, any tips to stand out? Posted: 14 Apr 2019 10:02 PM PDT There is a career fair at my school tomorrow with a lot of companies looking to hire sales interns/ sdr for the summer. Any tips on how to stand out among all the applicants? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Apr 2019 04:52 AM PDT Any thoughts on this tool? Company is trying to hire me so trying to decide if it is a good tool to sell. I'm with an established company right now, but they are offering me a higher base + commission. They are relativity new and I am a bit warry of smaller companies. [link] [comments] |
Question; Would you rather work in sales for a "Fun Company" or a "Super Professional Company" Posted: 14 Apr 2019 03:18 PM PDT Here is what I am asking. As a sales professional would you like to be an environment where people have fun, laugh and good friends at work but not really professional all the time or a professional company where you are in a beautiful office but there really is no comradery. I personally prefer the fun not so professional place, [link] [comments] |
I have 3 D2D Roof Sales scripts! I want y'all to vote for the best! Posted: 14 Apr 2019 01:00 PM PDT 1: Hello! We help homeowners avoid bankruptcy due to water damage by A growing number of homeowners are now becoming homeless due to recent storm damage. We are conducting a sponsored review When's the last time you had your roof inspected? Would you like to find out if your roof qualifies for a no-fault claim? 2: Hello! We've been working with several of your neighbors to replace their roofs following the recent storms. They were surprised to learn this is financially covered in its entirety by the insurance company, with no impact on rates or premium due to the damage being caused by weather (an Act of God). As your neighbors were unaware, I thought you may be too. When's the last time you inspected your roof? Would you like to find out if your roof qualifies for a no-fault claim? 3: Hello! I hope its ok that I stopped by. I do a lot of work with your neighbors in this area around roof replacements. I was driving by and happened to spot a few things that - if this were my home - might be a concern. Do you have a few minutes to discuss what I'm seeing? Sir/ma'am, as I mentioned, we do a lot of work in this area, so I have my crew out this way often. With your permission, I'd like to inspect your roof. If we do find something that we'd recommend addressing we can work with your insurance company or coach you through the process to make sure our proposal would be covered. Sound fair enough? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Apr 2019 07:20 PM PDT Do you think I should do this, as long as I don't advertise the company's name/logo? [link] [comments] |
