Update-I need more help. My ex deleted my BA thesis and it’s due in 7 days

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 04:49 AM PDT

I need additional help. Based on the advice from my last thread I took my laptop to the geek squad to recover the files. They said I'd have it back by the end of the week. That would leave me with enough time to finish the last section of my thesis paper.

I got a call yesterday that it would actually take 2 weeks because they had to ship my laptop out for data recovery. Tried to explain that was unacceptable but nothing could be done about it.

I'm not looking for technical advice. I need legal advice that I can use for my college and ex. My advisor said he can't give me an extension, which means I won't graduate next month and very likely could just fail out. Is there any legal basis for forcing my school to give me an extension? My paper and all of my qualitative data was deleted. Plus my backups were deleted. This whole situation is beyond my control.

Is there any action I can take against my ex?

For the bot: I'm in Illinois.

    Edit:

This is my original post. Basically, my roommates and I had a party on Sunday. My ex showed up which is not unusual because we were on good terms and her friends are friends with my roommates. My computer was available for people to play their own playlists. Again, nothing unusual. I woke up on Monday and discovered all my emails were deleted (which is where I made weekly backups of my thesis). When I checked my hard drive, the folder with my thesis was deleted too. I freaked out, asked reddit for advice and took my computer to the geek squad.

Texted my ex later on Monday asking if she deleted my thesis and didn't hear back. Her friend called me in tears saying my ex deleted everything and feels incredibly sorry and guilty. She did it because she saw me flirting with someone at the party and got jealous.

I have a fellowship lined up after graduation that I'm not eligible for if I don't actually graduate. I need an extension until I get my files back. I'm completely completely screwed if I can't turn in my thesis.

Customer threatening legal action after I cleaned her cruel living space for her dog .

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 08:18 AM PDT

I'm a locksmith and I recently went on a job to rekey a customers house who wasn't going to be on site while I performed the job. Upon entering I was immediately smacked with a horrible feces smell. I found a corner and see a poor small Maltese poodle, covered in his own feces, sitting in a crate of at least 10-12 separate defecations. As an avid animal lover, and hopeful sanctuary operator, Instantly I was set on fire with anger. Instead of calling the customer, I opted instead to remove the poor pup, give him a bath, (in the home owners shower) and then take his crate outside to clean in my work van. I returned the pup, finished the job requested, and headed on my way. Two days later, she's threatening legal action if I am not fired for treating this animal like it deserves and using her home utilities without consent. Does she have a leg to stand on? Should I worry? Help.

EDIT: The location in question is in Cincinnati Ohio.

I am aware that the smart move would have been to call animal control or something of the sort. I didn't do that however, as I felt capable of mending the situation to the immediately affected party. (Dope ass perfectly gorgeous doggo)

$347 child support from dad who’s company makes millions a year

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 06:50 AM PDT

    This is for my sister.

The father of her child only pays $347 a month. My sister is on disability and gets very little from that.

He pays himself $189k a year from his own company. The rest of the money he keeps in the company. His company has made 4-6 million a year for the past 5 years.

She had a lawyer but ran out of money in her retainer and can't afford more. The lawyer requested that the father submit his tax return from his company as well as his personal taxes. Only the personal taxes were ever given.

How would she go about getting those tax returns? Would a judge require them if she asks in court? Would they affect the amount she gets?

This guy was abusive and choked her in a target in from of her daughter. He plead guilty to child abuse and a misdemeanor assault. He still has partial custody because the assault charges and the child support case are in different counties. (Also seems strange to me). He cancels in seeing his daughter half the time and the other half she only wants to see him for like 10-15 min.

Basically my sister is the only one that takes care of her.

    We live in Colorado

I would appreciate any advice anyone has...even if it wasn't one of my questions.

Mother won't give me my settlement check

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 06:34 AM PDT

Sometime during June 2 years ago, I got into a car accident. My mother and I went to see a Lawyer and we both got settlement payouts. My mother received 50K, and she got it before me.

When this accident occurred, I was a minor. When everything was settled, filing was done, etc., I was a legal adult and signed everything.

My mother is now hanging my settlement check (which is a measly 3K compared to her 50K) over my head saying that if I don't do everything that says, get straight A's, and "be responsible", I will not see a penny, and that she will make sure of it because I was a minor during the accident and the money will go to her anyways. She says she is being gracious by giving me a way to earn it.

Side Information: I don't even live with my parents, I have been living with my cancer-ridden Grandmother for the past 6 months as her personal nurse.

    What do I do?!?!?!

Edit: Have to say this is in Florida so the boys are please

Son has never been vaccinated or to a primary physician [MT]

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 09:23 AM PDT

My ex and I both live in MT and have a parenting plan that states we have joint legal and physical custody of our son, who is 2 (we split up prior to him being born). Due to work schedules, my son's mom has him during the daytime when all medical offices would be open. The parenting plan does not discuss major medical decisions.

I recently found out my son is not vaccinated, and spoke with my ex about why. She is adamantly opposed to them, and after discussing the issue several times and trying to find common ground we have been unsuccessful. Rather than take him to get vaccinations behind her back, I looked into filing a motion through the state to compel vaccinations.

As such, I requested a statement of recommendation to vaccinate from the physician I was told is his primary. However, I was informed my son has never even been a patient at this office. I called their other office and was told the same thing. I am unsure my son has ever seen a primary physician.

I know my son has been to the ER on two occasions, and has been to a walk in clinic once, but either he has never seen a primary care physician or my ex is lying to me about who his physician is. I'm now wondering if I need to hire a lawyer to take this further. Here are my questions:

    1) Is not seeing a primary physician considered neglect in my state?

    2) Would this constitute grounds to file for medical custody of my son so I can make all major medical decisions, including vaccinating?

    3) Should I file for primary custody or is that pushing too far?

    4) Would I get in trouble legally if I just took him to get vaccinated behind his mother's back?

    5) If she is lying about who his primary physician is it would be a violation of our parenting plan; what would that entail?

I don't have any intentions of taking my son away from his mom, but I want him vaccinated and to see a primary physician routinely as he grows. What is the best, most cost efficient way to do this?

Sorry for the length, I just don't know what to do now. Thank you in advance.

[FL, USA] I'm 31 years old, and my mother is preventing me from opening a bank account of my own.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 09:49 AM PDT

Long story short, I was classified as being disabled when I was still a minor, and my (highly abusive and extremely controlling) mother had my disability checks deposited into a joint bank account. But even after I became an adult, she claimed that I was not fit to handle money (which is complete bullcrap as I am more financially responsible than she is) and thus continued to collect my disability check, whilst also preventing me from having my own bank account or bank debit card.

However, very recently, I was cut off of disability. I have received a final check from social security for this month, but after May 1st, I will not receive any more disability checks. Ergo, I need to get a job, and to do that, I need a bank account of my own (which I should have to begin with...).

Problem is, she is refusing to let me do this. I can't open a bank account without some money, and she is openly refusing to allow me to take the contents of my last disability check and transfer it into a new bank account. She is outright hostile about it, claiming that I have no right to the money, she won't give it to me and she doesn't care if I can't set up a bank account or get a job. She claims that she doesn't care if I'm out on the street or starve to death, and that no matter what she will not allow me to obtain the remains of my disability check for the purpose of opening my own bank account in my name.

What can I do about this? Keep in mind that any severe legal actions against her will probably be met with hostility. She is a severely mentally unhinged person, she is highly abusive and she has a lot of dirt on me that could be used against me.

A colleague is offering to not hire a former coworker I hate if I give him 7500 dollars and a recommendation.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 03:55 AM PDT

    This is in Texas.

So this is something I havent come across before, and before I consult an actual lawyer I figured Id ask here.

Basically I had a horrible relationship with a coworker who has now left my company. He has been gone for 4 months, but recently I heard that hes being interviewed by a colleague at another business that coincidentally does a good amount of third party work with my company.

I speak with the hiring manager, who I know, and we sort of joke about how much me and this guy hated eachother. I didnt tell him, its sort of known by people in our circle that we had bad blood.

Anyway the call ends there, I dont suggest anything really. Just a mild warning that the guy is a jerk. That was about 4 days ago. I received a call yesterday from the hiring manager, telling me he'd be willing to deny the guy the position if I gave him 7500 dollars and recommend him for an open position on the board of trustees at a charity I interact with.

Now, this is interesting because I know if the guy got said position I would have to work with him again in his capacity at said company, since we work together closely. So im sort of intrigued but is this even slightly legal?

My apartment building caught on fire yesterday and everything is still hectic

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 06:51 AM PDT

Yesterday at around 5 my building caught on fire. I couldn't believe how a fire that had started in one apartment on the sixth floor caused a couple of explosions throughout the 5th and 6th floor, and all the water used poses danger to the rest of the building. here's the news of the original fire It's going to have to be demolished, obviously at this point. But what I don't know is who to go to, and what my family and I can do to get housing. Red cross gave us housing for two nights. My mom is heading to the city to red cross to see if they can find a place for extended stay. Secondly, we want to find a new place to rent. It's just, because we had been living in my apartment long enough to be rent controlled, these new places are more expensive. I want to know if there's any action I can take against my landlord, who, according to the landlord watch list is the 14th worst in NYC. I also don't know if NYC has any law helping those without homes and placing them in affordable housing units. I'm just scared because we're homeless right now. Ps this is the aftermath. Any advice would be appreciated

Dozens of fake reviews being posted about my parents upcoming restaurant on Google/Yelp/Zomato, but the restaurant isn't even open yet.

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 05:50 PM PDT

    This is Ontario, Canada.

My parents are opening a restaurant, in February they signed a lease for a location and put up a coming soon sign. The unit unfortunately wasn't up to proper code about a few things so the opening was delayed until end of April.

Last week my mother noticed her restaurant show up on google maps/yelp/zomato.

For Google maps it seems like someone has already claimed her business, and there are dozens of reviews complaining about everything from the food being awful, to unsanitary conditions. The phone number associated with her location on google maps goes to a phone that nobody ever picks up. Google has been giving her nothing but canned responses, and basically doesn't seem to care.

She has managed to reclaim her business on Yelp, however they are refusing to remove the fake reviews. Even after commenting on them there is still 1-2 new fake reviews being posted a day. Yelp doesn't seem to care at all, since we don't give them money every month.

Zomato is filled with false information, and a bunch of random awful reviews all saying horrible things. They are also the only one who has basically completely ignored the fact that someone else has claimed my parents resturant.

My parents are devastated, and to me it just reeks of someone trying to sabotage their restaurant. Is there anything that can be actually done legally speaking?

Student Residence refusing to give me my mail

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 02:25 AM PDT

    Location: New York City

I go to a college in NYC and stay in a residence not affiliated with the college, it's a private student only place which is pretty expensive really but I liked it for a lot of reasons.

Recently my scholarship went through what they call 'admin difficulties'. I'm supposed to get paid every 3 months, tuition is paid at the start of the year then I get some money for rent etc - I also have a part-time job to cover the rest and have been living fine.
I have now not been paid by my scholarship for close to 6 months. I have enough for food etc with my job so I'm not struggling there but it does mean that I've not paid my rent in 2 months now.

At first they were really understanding, I have letters from the admin office saying that I will be paid (this month... hopefully) but now they're stealing my mail until they do get the rent money and are also threatening to take me to court over it. I have had a few packages over the past week and can't get them (including food and stuff sent from home by my parents)

What can I do here realistically? I need to food they have of mine but don't want to anger them?

    Bounty Hunter Mistaken identity

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 09:15 AM PDT

This is a story from a friend of a friend in FL so if some details are lacking I'm sorry

Basically friend lives in apartment, wakes up to man banging in door.

Friend doesn't open door, asks man who he is, man claims he is a bails bondsman who is telling friend to open up and come with him.

Friend refuses, banging intesifies, man claims he will break down door.

Friend keeps refusing, telling him, the guy doesn't live there and never has. eventually man realises he's at the wrong building, apologies profusely and leaves.

Friend claims that he decided that if the man broke down the door he would have shot him.

Would he have been covered under self defense even thought he identified himself?

Friend has never had any felonies and didn't have any bail.

USVI Landlord gave my brother 30 days notice to vacate after selling the condo he is renting lease is not up until July

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:29 AM PDT

{St. Thomas, USVI} Landlord gave my brother 30 days notice to vacate as they have sold the condo he is currently renting. He said fine and found a new place and will move in on April 7, 2019. He notified his landlord that he can be out by the 7th. His landlord responded that she gave him 30 days notice to find a new place and that he is responsible for the rent through April 30. My question, is my brother still responsible to pay the full final months rent or is he only responsible for the time he is still occupying the condo (pro rated rent)? The location is St. Thomas US Virgin Islands

Is It Legal for Parole to Ban Medical Marijuana

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 04:31 AM PDT

I wanted some feedback from other individuals, I am located in New York.

In 2009 after graduating high schooI I was involved in a fatal car accident resulting in the death of one of my friends. The accident was my fault, I was speeding and crashed, and my friend was killed. Everyday I pray for forgiveness from the pain I caused. Two other friends suffered bad injuries. I suffered brain damage and was put into a medically induced coma. In the end I had 17 titanium plates inserted into my skull and I suffer from cluster migraines on a regular basis. Doctors prescribed me pain killers to try and mitigate the headaches. This in return caused me to become fully addicted and eventually abusing heroin as well.

I was eventually convicted of Manslaughter 2nd and sentenced to over 5 years in prison. I did my time, and was released last April on parole. I have been sober for over 7 years now. Once I was released I made the decision to get my medical marijuana card to try and help with the pain, the insomnia, as well as the seizures I am now prone to since the accident. I alerted my parole office that I had spoken to a doctor, received a prescription, and a card. He had no issues with it.

Fast forward a year on parole: About 2 months ago my PO told me that "I can no longer use medical marijuana due to policy" but he could not provide any written documentation supporting this new "policy." I was told that I needed to be clean within 30 days, no questions asked. When I asked what I was suppose to do about all of my symptoms that I was actually using the marijuana for his reply was to, "Get back on narcotics" even being fully aware of my substance abuse issue.

It has been over 2 months since I was told I needed to get off of medical marijuana, regardless of it being legal in my state, and I am still trying to deal with all of symptoms that plagued me to begin with. My doctors were 100% against taking me off due to how well I have been doing all around. I have not chosen to use any prescription medications because I honestly do not want to chance my sobriety.

Yesterday I asked my PO to provide written documentation on the banning of medical marijuana and he flat out refused. Now I am beginning to wonder if what they are doing is illegal? Parolees are able to use Oxycontin and Xanax, but not take medical marijuana capsules? This doesn't make sense to me.

I would love anyone and everyone's opinion on my dilemma.

Potential motorcycle buyer doesn't have a (moto) license. Wants to drive it home. Am I liable?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 12:16 PM PDT

Basically covered it in the title. I am in Virginia.

I am selling my motorcycle which is is my name and I have minimum liability insurance on (through GEICO). I don't have any specific line item for "other drivers". The potential buyer has a car license but no longer has a motorcycle license (he used to). He wants to drive the motorcycle home if we complete the sale. Once I sign over the title am I still liable if he drives it home and gets injured?

I told him that he can't test drive it without a license because I still own it.

    Thanks!

Someone I’ve never heard of or worked with before changed my benefits deductions on the corporate side and I’m not getting any followup.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 09:13 AM PDT

For the bot: I'm in California.

So, I'm an hourly security guard. I make a decent wage even with my deductions for my 401k... when I'm not screwed over.

I didn't even notice the issue until last week, when a whopping $108 was taken out of my paycheck for deductions. Didn't notice the previous two weeks because I'd been sick so my wages were lower than usual anyway, and so were my deductions, but they've been consistently higher than they should've been for 5 weeks now.

Finally get to call my 401k company. According to them, they've been getting higher contributions since March 6th (matches up with my paystubs), but my percentage (5%) hasn't changed on their side. Rep tells me to talk to my Benefits department.

Benefits forwards me to the 401k Manager. Manager seems pissy and confused, tells me my contributions have always been a percentage (whatever, it's now a flat rate, probably made a mistake), and I end up having to snap and tell him that $108 is in no way 5% of my paycheck. There's silence on the line, he tells me he's gonna do some digging. Gives me a name of someone I've never dealt with before in my life (they're not even part of my region) and asks of I know them. Nope, I know who my HR Rep is and that unknown person isn't them. Turns out this unknown is changed my percentage company-side to 15%.

I have had: - No warnings - No mails - No emails - This Unknown isn't my HR Rep - This Unknown isn't even part of my branch office OR Region - All of my Paystubs now downloaded and printed

I would like to know my options. This is beyond unfair AND this entire situation has left me with overdraft fees up the ass because my financial situation is shaky at best (I had just started getting some savings together but this crap situation killed those meager savings). I have a feeling this company isn't going to give me back the money they allocated without my consent, and I really don't want to take a loan from the 401k because I know that's going to need to be repaid.

Edit: If this doesn't make sense, PLEASE ask me. I do have an actual issue sometimes conveying into words what I'm trying to say.

Future landlord didn’t disclose my lease would be with a roommate that I won’t be sharing an apartment with

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:22 AM PDT

Update- the landlord called me and apologized for not explaining how they handle the joint leases. There is a form that waves the tenants responsibility for their roommates. They do joint leases so they can legally have more units in the building. All is well!

I have been calling and emailing the landlord and management company without hearing anything back so I'm running on little information, I'll add more as I find out more.

The apartment is in Seattle, WA. I recently filled out a rental application with a co-signer for a micro studio apartment. I viewed it yesterday and was told by the landlord the original apartments were sectioned in half to leave the units as they exist today. The unit I was looking at had a locked door on the wall that connects to the neighboring unit, but no space is shared between each apartments. Separate bathrooms, individual kitchenettes in each room, individual unit numbers. It struck me as odd but I didn't think much of it. Monthly rent for the unit I applied for is $650.

I put my deposit down and signed the online lease agreement when it was sent to me. My co-signer, who is my father, contacted me and said the lease was incorrect. There were two women's names already on the lease and the rent was listed as $1,300.

It took me a second to put two and two together as I initially thought it was just a paperwork mixup.

Given that no one has responded to me yet I believe that I'm replacing one of the women on the lease and the other one lives in the unit right next to mine, and we will be on a single lease together. I was not told this at any point, nor did I think to ask as the units are independent sans a locked door.

Is it legal to withhold this information? Is it legal to have two people with private apartments on the same lease? There is community space in the complex, including several full kitchens, but these are single occupant micro studios. I am most definitely not comfortable sharing a lease with a complete stranger that I won't even be living with.

Thank you in advance for any advice, it is much appreciated.

[KY] What do I do if I suspect a child is being physically punished when CPS specifically told the caregivers not to do so?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 10:18 AM PDT

A relative of mine adopted 2 children when their parents abused them and lost custody. CPS requires that the new caregivers not use physical punishments with them and advises that they find better ways of dealing with misbehavior.

I've witnessed both children (3yo and 2yo) being 'popped' in the face as punishment for hitting. I've also overheard one caregiver telling the older child (3yo) that she "can't wait until CPS gets off my back so I can use "real" discipline, because then you're in for a world of trouble."

I'm not sure how to find their case worker or if this is something I should even bother reporting.

NYC. Friends apartment was robbed and their family lost over $20K. Being asked to go in for questioning. I am scared

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 10:01 AM PDT

A friend's apartment was broken into, and the thieves stole over $20K and documents. The buildings management did not want to take responsibility and the matter was referred to the police. Her family was away for a while, and everyone who entered the apartment between them leaving and coming back will be asked to come in for questioning by the police. If this matters, I only visited her apartment once, and not for very long. I'm just scared because I'm a minority and I fear it will be blamed on me, and I can't afford a lawyer.

My ex cancelled my car insurance policy over the phone using my SSN.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:54 AM PDT

I recently purchased a new car, and my partner (at the time) volunteered to pay for the first 6 months of auto insurance as a gift. To do this, I logged into my account on the auto insurance website, and let him enter his credit card information. He does not have my login information.

    We have since split up.

Today, I received an email notice stating that my insurance policy had been cancelled. When I called the company to ask why, they told me that I (presumably my ex) had called in and requested the cancellation. To cancel an insurance policy with this provider over the phone, all you need to provide is the policy number and the last 4 digits of your SSN. My ex knows both of these pieces of information.

Do I have any recourse against the person who did this (presumably my ex) for using the last 4 digits of my SSN to cancel my insurance policy over the phone? Or am I SOL? I am now facing huge fees if I do not maintain continuous coverage by signing up for a new policy today. Any advice would be appreciated!

Note: Both the car and the insurance policy are in my name alone. I am located in South Carolina, USA.

I called a tow truck company, but a different one poached me and told me they were the same company. I refused to pay them since the first one charged me.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 10:27 AM PDT

    Hey there,

My motorcycle broke down on the side of the freeway last night and I called a ton of tow companies. I got a hold of one and they asked for a crazy rate. Here's how the conversation went:

TC: "Hi, you need a tow?"

ME: "Yes, do you tow motorcycles and how much do you charge?"

TC: "That depends, where are you?"

ME: "I'm at so and so on the freeway near the exit and need a 5 mile tow."

TC: "We charge $350 for that."

ME: "Oh, no thanks I have another company that will do it for $120, bye."

He then said something like "I'll be there" or "I'll be here" and hung up but I couldn't quite make it out as he was talking so fast. I then called another company and they agreed to take me on, so they took down my credit card information and were on their way to pick me up. A tow truck showed up surprisingly fast, but I heard that the driver was already in the area so I didn't sweat it too much. When the driver got out of the car I wanted to verify that it was him, so I pulled up their website and pointed at it and said "Are you with Blahblah Towing Company?" and he said "YES"

I must've asked him 4 or 5 times just to be sure and on the last question he said "Yes, we're the same company" TO MY FACE. So, after we get to the destination he starts asking me about how I'm going to pay. I was confused because the tow company I had called had already taken my credit card information. I called the original towing company and they said "That is not our driver". At this point I realized that it was the guy I had spoken on the phone with earlier and told him I refused to pay him. I told him that he lied to me and told me he was the original tow truck company and he stormed off saying that he was "going to get the police involved".

What can I do in this situation? This guy really creeped me out and I wasn't trying to get charged twice. It seemed like this guy was trying to scam me.

[MA] neighbor is accusing me of HIPAA violation, about to get fired over it

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:14 AM PDT

Some background: I went to an HOA meeting last week and since I've recently moved, I hadn't gotten to meet all the people in the neighborhood. I met one lady who asked what I did for work and she made a funny face saying that she visited the doctor I work for. Conversation moved on, whatever. From here on out I'll refer to her as crazy lady or CL.

This week I get a call from someone else in the neighborhood asking why I told everyone about CL's medical info. Apparently CL had gone around telling people that I accessed her medical records to tell people why she was visiting the doctor (???). I flat out denied doing this and tried calling her to ask why she was doing this. I didn't even remember her name after the HOA meeting and I would never look up someone's records just to see them.

Yesterday is the only day out of the week that I don't work. I got a call around noon from my boss, the doctor himself, requesting me to come in to speak to him. I went in and basically he said he received calls from CL saying I accessed her records, etc, and told people about her patient notes and labs. I told him I never did any of this and that if it were possible, he should run an audit to see if her records had been accessed by me.

He didn't fire me but I feel like I'm about to lose my job and get a fine or have my practice get fined for no fucking reason. I literally did not do anything and someone is trying to ruin my career.

Neighbors dogs are tearing up my yard

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:32 AM PDT

My neighbor let's 3 of his 5 dogs just run loose.

Dog 1 likes to drag my stuff into his yard and tear it up. I catch him going through my trash almost every week.

Dog 2 likes to chew on my satsuma trees and has already destroyed a tree. She's already started chewing off the low hanging oranges and spits them on the ground.

Dog 3 usually hangs with Dog 4 that is tied to the tree in the front yard. They bark non stop all day. They react to something as small as me turning a light in the kitchen. Since they're in the front yard they bark at everything that moves.

Dog 5 is aggressive and is tied to a tree in his backyard. Once he got out and was trying bite my dogs through the fence and even nipped at me. He only went away when I threw some small fireworks in his direction.

When they're not shitting, pissing, and chewing up my stuff they are in the street impeding traffic. The people who use to walk/bike around the neighborhood refuse to come this way because of the dogs. Their owner is extremely emotionally unstable so there's no reasoning with him.

The owner built a pen that crosses through the power companies easement. But the pen looks like a five year old built it and can't hold any of his dogs since the gate falls over in the slight breeze. So it sits unused and a huge eyesore.

There are no leash laws or HOA. The sheriffs department has been next to useless since there's not much they say they can do.

What can I do? I don't care about being compensated for the damage. I just want the dogs gone.

    I'm in Texas.

Edit: I'm trying to avoid shooting his dogs. I understand that IF the sheriffs department takes them they'll be euthanized most likely. Im trying to handle this issue as cleanly as possible.

Plumber took pictures of inside my house I am renting and gave them to my rental company. Is this legal?? Las Vegas, NV

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 08:28 AM PDT

Backstory: My husband's grandmother just passed and in the hectic days following his grandfather asked us to take care of their cat while they went out of state to bury the ashes. Because of school/internship/not getting time off/money issues we weren't able to go. So of course we babysat the cat!

In the meantime we had an issue with the toilet randomly cracking and flooding the bathroom (which the rental company made us pay for). They sent over their recommended plumber to fix the issue.

Yesterday they did an inspection of the house and the lady from Remax told my husband we can't have a cat due to the agreement. My husband was taken off guard because we had already moved the cat out of the house. He denied having a cat and she persisted that they have evidence from the plumber. There is a fine of $800.

Can a plumber take pictures of the inside of your house and provide them to your rental company? This seems like a huge invasion of privacy. Plus I was the one who paid him to fix he toilet because they wouldn't cover it! What should I do? Thank you in advance.
